“I have to get my sister off this planet, and you’re the only leverage I have.”

Sebastian Wolfe got himself sentenced to death by combat on the prison planet Rhodon in order to protect his sister, Sylvie. As last season’s champion, she was released into the open population, and if he prevails this season, he’ll be allowed to join her. And at first, that was the plan.

Then, at an airborne afterparty following the first fight of the season, Sebastian seizes a chance to crash the ship into zone three, planning to escape the wreckage and join his sister early—until fate throws Kaya Johnston into his path.

Kaya would have died upon impact if Sebastian hadn’t bailed from the doomed yacht with her in his arms, but that’s no reason to go all weak in the knees. He’s the one who crashed the ship in the first place! Now she’s stranded on a prison planet, barefoot and ill-equipped, with only a gorgeous, protective death row inmate who’s declared her his hostage—yet seems to think of her as much more.

Sebastian drags her deep into zone three in search of Sylvie, so he can demand an escape vehicle in exchange for his captive. But after a few days alone with Kaya, he might be unwilling to ever give his beautiful, compassionate hostage up…

Hostage is a 74,000 word novel set on a planet populated by violent criminals, so expect a gritty story about characters who have to fight to protect each other and their relationship. Please do not read this book if violence in fiction bothers you.

I wasn't sure how I'd feel about this book. In Champion, I wasn't that thrilled with Sebastian and Kaya seemed like an Effie Trinkett-type character. (She did get better at the end and did Graham and Sylvie a solid). It ended up being much better than I expected, largely because Sebastian is a major smart-a**, which I can definitely appreciate. Kaya was likable, too. She gives up a lot for Sebastian. I don't know that I could make the same sacrifice.

My only minor complaint, (and this is going to sound really bad because I didn't want Kaya to be raped), but it seemed a tad unbelievable with so many close calls, that one of the men wouldn't have followed through before Sebastian got to her. Especially, when they said, "we're just going to wait until after the tournament to have our way with her."

One of my favorite parts was when David showed up. He's a jerk-wad but he's a funny jerk-wad. I cracked up when he was smack-talking and Kaya told him to STFU.

Can't wait for the next book in this series.

I've really liked every book previously in the series and was dying for this book but I just couldn't go on past 45%. The heroine made absolutely no sense to me.

She's this corperate hardass that's used to dealing with assholes and giving it as good as she gets. She's been around the block a few times so she's fairly experienced when it comes to peen but she acts like a blushing virgin who can't say "naughty" words? All cause a million years ago her Grandmother was religious? Have you met anyone who went to Catholic School? Those are some of the most twisted fuckers you will EVER meet.

So no, having a shitty ex and Grandma doesn't equal I can't say cock and a kiss makes me blush and swoon. Not after we've seen her click around on her heels barking at staff and know that she's VERY familiar with thou that shall not be named.

I think Emmy should have spent a little time actually thinking about this character before she wrote her so she'd have made sense.

Loved Sebastian from book three. However I don't like Kaya, she was set up like an Effie (Hunger Games) and at the start of this book (very mild spoiler, first few pages) she has a fiance and is watching Sebastian pleasuring one of the sponsors. So I quit reading.

Oh yeah, this one is bad.
Always hate it when my romance/erotic novels starts out with the hero fucking everyone but the heroine with no emotional reason to do so other than he has a hardon and wants to fuck someone else..
It's just real shitty Sebastian ended up unlikable. I knew from the Champion book these would be in the vain of the hunger games fanfic type books so that didn't bother me as much as the overall bad "romance" in the story and characterization.
I'll probably come back and check out this author down the road a few years maybe and hopefully she has moved on from the hunger games by then and is more focused on characterization building.

So all the wonderful things I said about Sebastian as a brother in the last book, I take back. I was not happy with him here. I was also frustrated with how victimized the heroine is. I get it that women are oppressed worldwide but I always hoped imagining of a future would balance things out. Maybe I’m not ready for a prison planet

Hero was kinda dumb and selfish. The whole hold hostage for escape ship.. Go up against billionaire corporation.. Have u heard of trackers? Have u seen any hostage movies or news stories? It never works! Put woman u love at extreme risk? Expose Graham as being alive? What a goober!

The hits keep on coming. Prison planet is becoming one of my favorite series. I didn’t think that I could like any book as much as I liked the others. But I was wrong. I really enjoyed all the books, but I think Hunter & Hostage are my favorites so far.
Sebastian and Kaya are also one of my fave couples—alongside Sylvie and Graham. Seb and Kaya are the definition of opposites attract, yet they fit together like two puzzles pieces. I enjoyed watching their romance unfold. Their chemistry is steamy and Sebastian is the guy that I’m most attracted to.
Seb’s a traditional asshole, but l like how sweet he is with Kaya. He has a big heart, and ultimately wants to do what’s best for the people he loves.

The plot held my interest. The underlying plot is that Seb’s trying to find Sylvie. The story has similar concepts to the other books—fighting for survival, and of course, unfortunately all the heroines end up getting attacked. I will throw out there that I’m starting to find it hard to believe that all of the heroines repeatly get saved just in the nick of time. Although, I’m glad that’s the case.

I do like that the second time Kaya’s attacked, it at least leads to the climax ending. Speaking of which, it had me on the edge of my seat. I was worried about my boo—Seb, he’s one of my absolute favorites. Him and Graham.

Thank goodness Emmy always works her magic with great endings. I especially liked meeting David. That part was very comical. (He fucked the ice cubes right out of your pussy.) LMBO! I’m still laughing at that line. David’s such a douche. I’m glad that we got to me the prick though, and good ridden.

I’m hoping that introducing Warren was foreshadowing that he might be our next hero. I would like to see him with Lily. Or who knows who his match is, but of the other women, she’s the one that has stood out. So we’ll see what Emmy has in store for us next. I can’t wait.

Sebastian and Kaya's story presented us with another zone and another prison mentality. I would have loved to read about it in more details (not that I would wish for the main couple to meet more people and endanger themselves), it just... in previous books there was... more.

Argumento:

The hostage de Emmy Chandler libro 4 Serie Prison Planet

Book 3 was by far the best in the series, and this one is the worst. The best part of this book (and the only reason I finished it) is catching up with the couples from the previous books, because other than that this story is a dud tbh. Sebastian and Kaya are totally unbelievable as a couple, and Kaya's naiveté (and frankly, complete uselessness) was annoying. She's the least likable fmc in the series, and Sebastian is just...fine. Their relationship felt almost contrived because it was such an odd pairing and there was no reason for them to be together? Unlike the previous books there was no need for Kaya to be there, she could literally just leave but she didn't? Also, in the last book Sebastian was like the toughest guy around that no one wanted to mess with and in this book he's getting overpowered/knocked out left and right lmao. There was just something so corny about this book idk. 2.5/5 for me

Rollercoaster of a Story - Kaya and Sebastian is a throw your hands in the air ride!

Rating: 😍😍😍😍😍

Kaya & Sebastian's Story

So there is a line at the end of the book that sums up this book so nicely, "...Hanging with you four is like riding a f*cking rollercoaster. Someone stop the ride, so I can puke." (that line made me chuckle). Kaya, we met her in book 3 - Champion, was the UA sponsorship liaison for Graham, Sylvia, and Sebastian when they were in Zone 1. Sebastian, we also met him in book 3 - Champion, is Sylvie's older brother and an ex Grand Champion fighter and now the reigning champ of this seasons zone 1 fights. Kaya and Sebastian are up on the blimp, schmoozing potential sponsors when Sebastian decides to take the blimp on a bumpy unexpected detour. Sebastian is set on finding his sister, who was released into zone 3 after she shot Graham in the finale in the zone 1 fights last season. His goal, get to zone 3, find his sister, and get the heck off the prison planet and live boring old lives away from those that would lock them up again - and Kaya becomes his hostage of opportunity.

Kaya and Sebastian's story has been percolating since he arrived on the prison planet and purposefully got sentenced to death to protect his sister. We get the chance to learn more about Kaya and what makes her tick. And on top of that we have the protective Sebastian that will do anything to keep those he loves safe - does that include Kaya? And can they get off the red rock? Does their rollercoaster ride end in puking or in cheers? Only one way to find out that you won't regret... dig in!

I love Emmy's writing she has a way of pulling a plot together, injecting swoon worthy steam and humour. Love this series, I can't wait to read Book 6 - Traitor!

There is a new type heroine and a new hero, a new zone and some familiar faces in this 5th installment of Emmy Chandler's Prison Planet series. I loved the romance between Kaya and Sebastian without any D/s from a totally different sexual POV. It was so seductive for me as a reader, as well as, titillating. These were some of the best sex scenes that I have read in a while. The development of the intimate relationship between this couple is the primary plot of this story. Good HEA/HFN ending depending on how one views life on the Red Rock Planet.
It was also wonderful to bring in the characters from books 1 - 3 to see how they are getting along on Rhodon. I can not wait to see what is next in store in the Devil's Eye. So on to book 6, 'Traitor'.

This is my least favorite in the series. I really like Sebastian's sense of humor, and the way he teases Kaya. Throughout this book, I found Sebastian to be a poor protector for Kaya. He was much too distracted by her, allowing his nemesis to get the jump on him. That happened several times. Once when he was masturbating outside, someone clocked him on the head and Kaya almost got raped. Tyson caught Sebastian and Kaya sleeping naked, fortunately it wasn't an enemy or the couple would've been in deep shit.
Kaya was washing her hair when she hears a thud---of course it's Sebastian being clocked ok n the head again. Kaya gets taken as the grand prize of a fighting tournament, in which Sebastian has to win the tournament to get her back.

Captivating Story

The book was just as great as all the previous ones and holds your attention from beginning to end. Loved how all the characters from the previous books get to be together with plenty of action, and steamy romance. Hopefully this is not the end of the series because I would like to read about, Warren, finding his happily ever after at Sorority.

HOstage? Intense title. I didn't love this one, I didn't find sebastian all that funny and I didn't think Kaya was all that sympathetic- but I will acknowledge that I really thought that this was a good way to bring the characters back together and learn more about zone three (which was so confusing to me before honestly).

Disappointing ending! As much as I like that they are altogether now, how disappointing was that ending? I wanted to fucking scream when they didn’t get off the planet! So I’m going to stop reading here, this is not a HEA. This is a series about blatant & rampant corruption that never changes. If I wanted that I would turn on the news!!
