My name is Sam Ryder. I was abducted from Earth and brought to a planet called Tor, a world of dying goddesses and monsters. I was leveled up--thrice now--turning me from a slightly overweight gamer into a chiseled fighter with spidey senses who gets more play with the goddesses than an Xbox.
At this point I've already faced two of the massive demons known as the Morgoss, those who are responsible for the overthrow of the Three goddesses and the theft of their powerful hearts. So far, I've managed to kill one of the bastards with help from my allies and recover the sky goddess's heart. Two monsters and two hearts to go.
Disclaimer: This book has monster slaying, cursing, heavy violence, and a bunch of exotic goddesses and alien women. The novel is not meant for people under the age of 18.
Wow. Sam Takes Charge. Everyone Levels. Vrill Pays Dearly, But Gets a Dragon A re-occurring theme throughout the book, Beat and others remind Sam to ask the three about his progressing symptoms from his Sirene bite. He puts it off and puts it off because he's expecting bad news, but it turns out to be a blessing in disguise.
Sam and Eve's relationship progresses. Some of the adult situations are very graphic.
Strategies for fighting against the dark continue to evolve. The team starts doing better, but then Eve is lost, while on a finder mission with Sam assisting. Uh oh.
The Marmot is epic, huge on a whole new scale.
I didn't like that some of the lesser warriors stared showing up with the same name as a previous now deceased warrior, and were named clever things like Merlin 2. Ugh.
There were occasional references back to pop culture. I'm not a big fan of that either.
But the main story and characters progressed and evolved. There are a few lights at the end of the tunnel, and there were a lot of hard challenges along the way.
The quest to recover Vrill was good, with Sam going solo and facing a lot of challenges he couldn't beat just by brute force.
The story just keeps getting better. The third book expands on the characters quite a bit, but even more on the world and the other major players in it. That doesn’t mean the story isn’t personal though, because this book easily has the most tension and drama so far - not to mention action. I could go on about the great story, the excellent editing, and the great characters and world-building here... but you should be reading it, not reading about it. Definitely recommended.
I have read the 3 books inthe series so far and background and character development is truly wonderful. It is action packed with with realistic expectations and ideas. The women are gorgeous and villains are evil. This is a good (thumbs up). Waiting for the next book from the series Keep up the good work. Sam Ryde keep up the great work!!!!
I enjoy this series. The characters, their interaction and the adventure. Actually I enjoy roll playing games and this plays right into a fun and enjoyable game for me. Looking forward to seeing what happens next.
I enjoyed this book much more than the previous two. Beat continues to be very fun whenever she is around. It feels like the story is coming together well now. I am eagerly awaiting volume four.
I am hooked on this series and hope there are more books coming soon. Perfect match of action, humor and sex to really get your interest right from the beginning.
3 to 3.5 stars, pretty much the same as the other books. I still enjoyed it and it did progress the story more but I was just looking for more. I will keep reading this series as it comes out as I do like these type of books but they are not for everyone.
Wow! This series keeps on getting better. Sam is an amazing individual. He just makes things happen. Really great book. I will be very sad to see this adventure end, but will not have to worry for now as there is a book 4.
I chose this rating because it was just that good. I wonder though how Sam even the playing field in the next book, I mean with the Morgoss scrambling to rectify the the Problem that is Sam Ryder. I cannot wait for the next book.
This one has a lot of action, sex and fighting! I am on to book 4 and it is 3:44 am! That's how wonderful and exciting this saga is! Can't wait to begin the next book!!
Sam continues to grow in the book and has some success in protecting those he cares for. A solid book that entertains and leaves you looking forward to the next book.
Sam and the warriors are getting down. Each warrior is coming into their own. The character development is awesome and feels natural i am really liking this set.
