The Beyond #1

Beyond Hunger

Rate this book
A boy in blue, a girl in whole lot less, and an appetite that demands satisfaction.

Violet should have lost all faith in men by now, but the girl has needs that just can't be met by dancing naked on a stage.

After yet another terrible night out leaves her in tears, Vi ends up in a bar with Serge - the good detective who's suffering from his desire for a seemingly unattainable woman. Sharing a laugh, a few drinks and their stories, they strike an honest friendship that leaves them both hungry for more, but can such a craving be trusted?

If you love imperfect characters, you'll adore the humorous, yet saucy Beyond Series that follows the baggage-laden romances of those living and working at a one-of-a-kind strip club as they struggle to overcome the psychological barriers of past and present to find love and hope for the future.

Each full-length novel can be read as a stand-alone, but for maximum enjoyment, should be read in order.

Get your sassy stripper romance now!

Awesome read for the start of 2023. I loved these characters. It tended to drag some but I think it had to, to make it so good. Serge made all my sexy cop wet dreams come true.

great read

It dragged some and I got a little annoyed everything was taking so long or I would have given a 5 star rating. LOVED Serge. All hot cop dreams. Great read. On to the next

The writing is good.. it's poignant even..but idk how to rate the book overall, because the story was just not for me. The MMC thinks he's in love with his friend (a married woman who is not the FMC) for the first 50% of the book. And he is just so wishy-washy about the FMC. I enjoyed the parts where the MCs kept randomly bumping into each other and then later when they were intentionally getting to know each other. But then both MCs get too scared to believe the other has real feelings for them, so they hide or push the other one away. It felt more sad than romantic to me after that. Also, the spice level was pretty tame compared to what I was expecting. Serge and Violet really only have one night together (maybe like 60-70% in?), then they break apart for while, and then they get together again at the end.
Idk, it just wasn't for me.

it’s nice to see people get what they deserve

It’s nice to see good people get what they deserve. Working out misunderstandings sometimes takes a lot, and Serge and Vi definitely have to work through some stuff. Starting out as drinking buddies, moving on to confidants and then more, their relationship progression was great. They had a lot in common. VI’s group of supportive friends was also awesome.

I’m looking forward to the remainder of the series.

This is a fantastic start to a new sexy-hot romance series. New York, strippers, cops—all tough outers and sweet inners...what's not to love? Looking forward to reading the next one!

I like this author. My only question is why are they taking cabs everywhere? Cabs are freaking expensive. This dude too good for the subway?

Kind of Flashdance meets Pretty Woman meets the hidden identity trope. I was curious how the author would pull off the concept of a strip club that hires women in peril. I don’t think she does.
