When Cade and Hunter’s son Brody becomes sick with a mysterious shifter illness, Ollie is ready to do whatever he can to see the alpha toddler well again. His nephew’s illness coincides with the arrival of Toby, an old friend of Max’s. The injured alpha bear is there to deliver a warning; Ajax’s bears and the lions have banded together, and it won’t be long before they set their sights on River Den.

Toby wasn’t sure what he expected when he made his way to the den, but it certainly wasn’t Ollie. The cheerful, bubbly omega is nothing like the picture his people had painted of den omegas. And Ollie seems to have taken an interest in Toby though the alpha doesn’t understand why.

From the moment Ollie sets his eyes on Toby, his omega instinct draws him to the alpha. He knows that where Toby goes, he must go too, wherever that takes him. The alpha bear also has some insight into Brody’s illness, but it’s not good news; to cure him, they’ll need to venture into bear territory, the one place it isn’t safe for them to go. It leads them both on a dangerous journey, bringing them closer together as they work to save Brody, the shifter world, and ultimately, each other.

Meanwhile, Cade and Hunter are facing into the most difficult challenge of their relationship when Brody falls ill. Cade is battling his guilt at not noticing the illness sooner, while Hunter is torn in two directions; saving the shifter world or saving Brody. Allying themselves with the rebel bears leads them to an unexpected discovery; the truth about Hunter’s origins. But will their efforts be enough to save Brody?

What a way to wrap up this amazing series! Pretty much all of the characters from the previous books are back in this one, and we finally see Ollie find his mate and get his own HEA!

Lots happened in this story - between baby Brody falling mysteriously ill, the final showdown between Ajax with his fellow bears and the lions, vs. the dens all working together to bring peace and unity to the shifter world, everyone is pregnant again lol, and Ollie's love story - yeah, that's a lot!

I loved how we got to see all of the shifters working together. Unfortunately, this also seemed to cut into Ollie's time as far as he and Toby were concerned as a couple (they didn't really form anything until like 80% through the book) but I LOVE how he bonded with Toby, that entire scene was great. I wish that we had had a bit more time for Toby and Ollie, that's my only issue with this story. The two epilogues at the end were perfect, and I will miss reading about the dens and these shifters.

Can't wait to see what this author brings us next, everything she writes just knocks it out of the part for mpreg, shifters, hurt/comfort, and emotional romance.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The conclusion to the series was pretty good if a tad anticlimactic. I mean there was a fight with many shifters involved but it didn’t last long but considering how short the books in the series are, I think it was proportional.

Ollie finds a wounded bear shifter across the river and wades over to help. Toby comes to warn Max that Ajax is coming for them. Hunter and Cade have their hands full with little Alpha Brody. He’s sick and nobody can figure out what’s wrong with him. Then Toby voices a possibility, he needs to go to the mountain where ALL bear shifters need to visit when they are young. The problem? Ajax controls the mountain and he wants Hunter dead.

Ollie’s instincts tell him he needs to stay close to Toby even though the Alpha seems to be pushing him away. The battle for all shifter kind rests on winning the war between the bears (with the assistance of hyenas and some lions) and all other shifters who only want to live in peace.

-shifter war (NOT DRAWN OUT)
-race to save Brody
-Ollie & Toby traveling together and mating
-LOTS of shifter babies
-ALL MCs from the previous books in series come together

*****
POV… third person

Standalone or series… last book in series

Hangover… no

Recommend… sure

Reread … maybe

4 stars!

I liked how Ollie always wanted to be near Toby, from the beginning.

I liked how Ollie always saved and cared for Toby, as well as he could.

AND I liked that Toby truly came to value Ollie; and love and cherish him... As he should.

Ollie was lovable, energetic, smart and sweet... And he so deserved an Alpha to call his own.

Toby really flourished under Ollie's love; he became happier and more carefree. It was beautiful to see.

I'd say this was a good ending to the Series, with an alliance of sorts between shifter species, for a good closure and no loose ends.

And I loved the new (extra) babies of the packs.

Still would've liked to read a book of the future generations, though. (Brody's book would have been nice... maybe one day, who knows.)

**********Contains Spoilers**********

I enjoyed this story but since it focused on Toby and Ollie and Cade and Hunter trying to save the Dens and wee Brody I found that Toby and Ollie’s story didn’t really get the justice they deserved. Ollie has been helping matchmaking for human and shifters alike and has seen all his brothers find love so he wonders when it’s his turn, then he finds an injured alpha Bear on the river bank and he’s thinking of getting help but for some reason he knows that the bear isn’t going to hurt him. Toby shows up at River Den injured after being ambushed with him and his team but being the only one left alive, he’s part of the Rebels that are against Ajax the bear’s alpha’s plan to overpower all the shifters including the Den’s since he thinks that the Den’s have been seeking power because all of the omegas that live there, where as they just want to live in peace and not be hunted and stolen by alpha’s seeking omegas for the supposed magical powers they have. He was in the Red Fang’s arena with Max and thought Max was still at River Den and that he’d help. To say Hunter isn’t happy that Toby showed up and doesn’t trust that he isn’t going to double cross them but after speaking to Max, Max tells him that he’d trust Toby with his life and that of Oscar’s life so Hunter knows that that’s extremely high praise and they can trust him not to stab them in the back. Hunter and Cade find out from Toby what’s wrong with Brody and that they didn’t take him back to his first home, the mountain since bears are more nomadic and travel in family units and have one alpha, the mountain is their home base and they need that connection. They have to meet the leader of the Rebels Gordon who happens to be Hunter’s absentee father, defeat Ajax the bear alpha whose after power so wants to take the dens so he can have as many omegas as he wants as he thinks that they make him powerful as bears have a warped sense of what a den omega is about just like Toby did when he first met Ollie, protect the dens and get Brody to the mountain in time. Toby and Ollie go together to track down as many bear families to see if they’ll work with the Rebels to overthrow Ajax but they’re a led into and betrayed by Caleb and his family and handed over to Ajax, Toby tells Ollie to run but Ollie wont leave Toby to defend himself against all those bears and Hunter, Cade and Seth are on their own quest to help in this war with the bears and lions. After everything was said and done I thought it ended rather abruptly but I’m glad that we got an epilogue for Hunter and Cade and another one with Toby and Ollie. I’d recommend this book, series and author to everyone.

For how Ollie's love story was so hyped up, with it finally being his turn, after he helped everyone else, and his big sunshine-y personality finally getting the romance he deserves, I was just expecting more time spent on the actual romance. Especially with the way he felt the need to go with Toby and that something terrible would happen if he didn't... I just didn't feel like the plotlines threaded throughout this one were utilized properly.

Ollie was a sweetheart, and I love how much he loves his family and how he would do anything to find a cute for little Brody. I loved how he met Toby and took care of him and I died over how Toby didn't think he was worthy of Ollie because he was just a simple bear, and Ollie was a popular omega. That was so cute and adorable. I did really enjoy the time these two spent together and how they got to know one another. I died over the fact that Ajax wanted Ollie, not Toby, when they were captured.

I loved Ollie taking Ajax's omega under his wing, because that was such an Ollie thing to do. I love that they rescued him and that he gets to live a better life. Ollie and Toby were so cute, but I just wanted something more epic for them, and for their story not to feel so rushed.

I did really enjoy getting back in Cade and Hunter's heads as they tried to figure out what was wrong with their son, because it felt like the series was coming full circle, and it was so nice to see how far we've all come since their first book. This was such a good series, and I really loved all the couples and how each of them helped propel the whole shifter world to a better place!

OMEGA'S LOVE CHANGED THE SHIFTER WORLD

This is the final story in the River Den Omegas Series. Each of these books can absolutely be read as a standalone. Each book gives you a complete and beautiful, adventurous love story involving a River Den Shifter and their fated mate. This final story features Ollie, the bubbly, out going, happy, starry eyed Omega. Toby is an injured Alpha, who comes to River Den looking for help in a brewing shifter take over. This brings Hunter and Cade who are facing their own dire situation, back to the center of the life or death struggle ahead. This was another beautifully written story about following your heart, trusting your instincts and unconditional love. This has all the key couples from the previous stories. This story gives you new exciting glimpses into how the dens have grown and who have added new additions to their families. This is just an all around fantastic story with some surprising new characters. This is a magnificently written story that sums up an amazing world full of characters that it was a pleasure to meet. At the end you get two, yes TWO, fantastic epilogues. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THIS MAGNIFICENT SERIES!!!!!

Good conclusion to the series and it brings everything into a full circle.

I've loved Ollie straight through the series. I've always thought that he was the real heart of the series. Without him, there would've been more problems, I think.

Ollie is the Omega-iest Omega who ever Omegaed. He's been happy helping his brothers and friends go on their adventures and find their loves and create their families. He adores his nephews and nieces, but he wants his own family and his own adventures now. And when he sees a wounded bear, he knows his adventures are starting.

Toby, a bear shifter, is trying to reach Max, who he fought with in the Arena. He goes to the den where he thinks Max is, but he's left. Instead, he finds Ollie, one of Max's brothers, and an Omega. Toby has information for Max, important information about the fate of the entire shifter world.

I thought that it was a great way to wrap up everything, but sometimes it kind of felt like maybe all the details were being shoved in so that everything would be nice and neat. I wouldn't have minded a little bit of messy, as long as it fit in the story. But, that's just me and my opinion.

In the final River Den chapter, Brody (Cade and Hunter’s young alpha son) suddenly becomes ill...a true conundrum in the quick healing shifter community.

Later that same day, Ollie stumbles across an injured bear shifter at the edge of River Den territory. Despite long standing hostilities between den and bear shifters, Ollie feels compelled to help.

The injured bear, Toby, has come to deliver a warning. He’s part of a rebel group trying to overthrow Ajax (the bear community’s tyrannical leader) and restore peace among the shifter clans. Ajax has allied with the Den’s biggest threat, an exiled lion shifter, Nevan. The dens can’t defend against a concerted lion-bear attack. The best plan is to strike before Ajax can assemble his forces.

Defeating Ajax is also critical for saving Brody. His mysterious illness can only be cured by visiting bear mountain, Ajax’s closely guarded stronghold.

Again...strong suspension of disbelief is required to fully enjoy this series. 1. Must ignore silliness of requiring a shifter species to visit ONE mountaintop river...or die. 2. Must ignore how this entire saga is taking place without human awareness. 3. Must ignore the wacky logistics (how many bear shifters would it require to secure an entire mountain...and still seem to be everywhere at once—while the dens seem to have 12 alphas at most) 4. Where do these mystical omega powers keep coming from? and, most importantly, 5. How do they still have clothes after shifting!

Yes, there are some problems with the plot, but I still binge read the entire series in three days. Why? Because the journey was a lot of fun with a satisfyingly ending.

So I finally finished this series and I sort of enjoyed it despite giving none of it's books more than three stars.
Thing is, this manages to hit all my weak spots: sweet and fluffy mixed with action, hurt/comfort, shifters, an ongoing threat of war, diplomacy and machination, family drama...
So I can keep soaking that up despite all other shortcomings.
In this one - again! - I felt spoiled out of a well developed romance because - again! - the book was split between two different couples and their stories. At least this time they were somewhat intertwined. But I feel you can either choose to write a longer series with an ongoing plot during which different couples are developed. Or you can write a one-couple-a-book kind of series. But you can't mix them both well or at least this author couldn't.
The plot was really convoluted - again... -, totally unrealistic at times - again -, and all those different characters that have so little distinctivly developed traits... I couldn't really keep them all straight and then again it wasn't at all necessary to follow the story - and that's kind of sad. Same goes for the overall plot. The "strategic" planing was either too simple or didn't make much sense to me, but it didn't matter either way because the story unfolded mostly as expected.
This "omega instinct magic" thing makes no sense whatsoever, was never explained and changed throughout the series as the situation required.
Still, I enjoyed it enough as a whole - and I really felt for little Brody.
Feels like maybe this was the trial run for the Siren Cove series, which turned out much better than this one in my opinion.

This is more of a series review than this particular book which I actually really enjoyed.

So to start, I have a hard time with the "mystical connection" trope. I know that sometimes there is an almost instantaneous connection with people in real life; I felt this with my own bf and also platonically with a person I used to work with. Probably others too, I can't really remember who I knew more than like 7-8 years ago. But anyway it's not like a compulsion like it seems to be in these books. There were also too many people and too many locations; I eventually just gave up trying to keep track of who was with who and which pack or den they were with. My son's name is Cade so it was lovely to see a character with that name, I rarely see it in anything.

But anyway these books had some great moments, it's just that tragedies and trauma are kind of glossed over because of the strength and support provided by one's mate and it was kind of weird.

Still entertaining though; I really like Claire Cullen and will probably read anything she writes. I liked the overall conflict in this series, and I liked the characters individually. As a group it was just, again, hard to keep track of who is who.

Also the books in this series have more than one cover model posing together and I love that.

While I enjoyed the series well enough, it really drives me nuts when writers make significant continuity mistakes. Like, you created the characters and their world. You can easily go back to previous books and check on facts. The biggest one in this book that prompted me to write this review was Cade’s main shifter form (therefore the forms of the kids). In the first book, his main form was a tiger, not a wolf. The babies’ first shift was all tiger cubs. But in this book, it talks about “Cade’s wolf” and the kids choosing between being bears or wolves.

I’ve read several of this author’s series bc I do enjoy the stories and characters, but she has a habit of having decently edited and thought-out first books, but each subsequent book is messier and riddled with typos and information mistakes. As an editor for my day job, I may notice more than others, but a lot of it is pretty blatant and it’s really distracting when you’re deep in the story.

Anyway, if you’re writing/self publishing gay shifter romances, hit me up. Y’all desperately need editors and I’m a professional editor who would love to get paid to read and polish up these gay-ass shifter books 😆

Ollie finally finds his Happily Ever After

Ollie has watched his brothers and friends find their mates and start their families, he has helped many humans find love... And he's happy for them all - but where is his own happily ever after? When an injured bear shifter named Toby comes to the Den to warn of enemy plans to attack and to ask for alliance to a rebel fraction of bears willing to fight for peace, Ollie discovers it is time for him finally, as soon as they fight a war and Dave his sick nephew that is.

Toby and Ollie are sweet together and their story helps being this awesome series to a sweet and perfect conclusion. It was great to check in with all the previous characters and see what has been happening with everyone we have grown to love since book one. Definitely recommend this book.

The finale of the river den omegas series

3.5 stars

This is a great series that is well written and the conflict arcs through the whole series.

Ollie finally got his book! This is the final chapter in the River Den Omega story. I feel really happy that the author decided to wrap it up at a natural point instead of continuing the story forever. HEAs are achieved and the main story arc is resolved.

The book was well written and the story had a conflict beyond meet, mate, and babies. I gave this book 3.5 stars because while I enjoyed the story I wouldn't want to reread it. I would, however, want to read any spin offs or future stories about the babies being adults and finding love. I'm sure another conflict could be happening in 20 years!

This is a great end to a wonderful series! Found is well-written, fast-paced, entertaining, surprising and I could not put it down. It's finally Ollie's turn to meet his mate and their path isn't easy but Toby and Ollie persevere even while they work to unite enough shifters so they can defeat Ajax. There are some unexpected twists and turns that kept me guessing until the end. The best part of this story is that it includes so many of the characters from the previous books and I love the ending. I can't wait to see what the author does next.

Loved this whole series but this one way by far the most action packed and really tied everything up nicely for us. I totally binge read all of these in just a few days and honestly would have continued to read about these characters for at least another book. I can't wait to read more of this author's work!

This is the final book in the series and I really like how it tied up the ultimate conflict with drama and action. I liked the couple but they seemed a little forced like Ollie was trying too hard to make it happen and the Toby had a "well I guess it could be worse" attitude. They didn't really seem to click for me.

Excellent end to the series

I’m sad to see the series over, but I’m glad it ended with Ollie who had waited the longest to find his true love. He and Toby make a good couple and I loved the conclusion to the overarching plot of the series. While I want more, everything was wrapped up nicely. Cade and Hunter’s added story just made it all the more intense.

The Final Chapters

This final book in the series sees Ollie finally finds his mate, as well as the final showdown between the dens and packs against the bears and lions. The future of the shifter world is at stake and our heroes struggle to rise to the task. It's a to hard to put down race to the conclusion.

Great Series

Wonderful serirs, with lots of intrigue, mystery, and plot twists (or twisted shifters to be exact). The mates kept getting a bit more interesting, if not predictable.

I sincerely hope the series isn't over because there are still stories to tell.

It just didn't hit me like the others

There was too much plot, not enough intimacy and emotional development, too much recapping and telling. Not enough showing. But, having read the entire series, I'm glad Ollie got his HEA.
