Since meeting Hollie in Oceanside, I’ve been anxiously waiting for her full story to be told. And, whoa, High Tide sure is a doozy.

Hollie is a young woman in the middle of the fight of her life to gain her independence, her autonomy, and her freedom from the man who she thought was her father.

Now battling the court of public opinion and hordes of paparazzi, Hollie’s safety is in jeopardy. Hiring Maxmillian Cash is both brilliant and Hollie’s biggest mistake. Cash’s job is to protect her from harm at all costs, but what about her heart?

As Hollie and Cash lay the foundation of something more, will they succeed in truly finding their happily ever after?

I’m seriously still reeling from finishing High Tide--waffling between loving and hating the story. Loving it because Hollie and Cash just seemed so real. So in tune with each other. But man, I hated their secrets and lies of omission. Their communication and lack thereof. Their inability to really express their true feelings. And that ending.

THAT. ENDING.

I need Island Side as soon as possible.

I loved the first three books in this series. I recommend them for great, hot, sexy, emotional romance reads.

This first of a two part finally was not what I was hoping for from this author.

This is Hollies's story and I'm so happy to get to know her back story and to really hear her voice! I absolutely adore her!
Her life seems so perfect but like most Hollywood celebrities its a constant balance in reality. My heart hurts for Hollie because even with a bodyguard, personal staff and everyone around her she seems so lonely and sad. As a Mom i just want to hug her and tell her all is well.
The writing is just amazing so perfectly paced and i love how the author weaves such poetic imagery into her story. There were several times i had to pause and catch my breath- so emotional! Loved it!

An 18 year-old actress Hollie legally fighting her powerful movie mogul stepfather Samuel Lesowski over a horrible event that occured in the not that recent past, leaving a shattered path for Hollie, her older sister Fanny and a few loyal people still holding a fort in the merciless and ruthless world of showbusiness.

One of the people still holding Hollie's side is her bodyguard Maximillian/Max Cash, he's attracted to her and is holding back on it since Hollie was still underage until recently, when she herself opened up to him about her own feelings...the lines are blurred, her acting job and the paparazzi presence puts another hard limit to bear...but still, they fall into a secretive passionate relationship...until Max is starting to act all mysterious and distant

on the other side, there's another man, Diesel Le, a sexy bassist for the band Dirty Dogs, who's a friend of her sister and her boyfriend and a band member Ashland. Diesel is everything you DO NOT want to have in a steady partner. He's every woman's wet dream and the worst nightmare. And yet, he stirs something in Hollie that she can't name, or address in the right way, cause of her inexperience...and she's fighting it, she's fighting this unexplainable mutual chemistry they hold for each other...and Diesel is a "in-your-face" direct kinda guy...and he delivers it harsh, mercilessly on point and without regrets...

And he just might be "too much" for Hollie to handle...on sight

when everything suddenly collapses around her, leaving her shocked and alone with a heavy load on her young back, things will have to come to a certain turn as she's bound to make some hard and heavy decisions that will alter the course of her life...her future...her everyting

Well, it ends in a cliffy and it demands answers that will be given in the next and final book in this series...so until then, I'll leave this openly challenging...*wink*

I'm kinda sad, and A LOT of anxious. With the High Tide/Island Side duet comes the ending of the Rock Stars, Surf and Second Chances series. Once again, Michelle Mankin, great bringer of angst, has left my heart in my throat. High Tide was such an interesting journey through the eyes of Hollie Lesowski, who is also the sister to Franny Bay from the book Oceanside. With the opening High Tide, we are quickly brought into Hollies' world - a teen fighting for the chance to make a career for herself all while getting through a traumatic attack and exposing her attacker, her stepfather, for the monster he is.

Hollie is such a delightful young woman. She's living the life of a young starlet in the making, with demands most woman twice her age would cringe at. In her bodyguard Max she believes she has a man she can trust, a man she could fall for. As those feelings intensify and their relationship goes to another level, Max begins to exhibit some unusual behaviors, adding an air of mystery and suspense to what happening in the background of Hollie's life. This is also when Hollie finds herself in too close proximity of Diesel le, a man with whom she shares a connection. Boy, do this two sizzle. It's undeniable and also very confusing - not just for Hollie.

This is when I see the mastery of Ms. Mankins storytelling at it's finest. I don't want her to want him, she has Max after all. Sweet, solid, adoring Max. But slowly I start to see the fractures in Max's character. He's not all that he seems and in fact a few moments I'm really, really disappointed in him (as I'm sure I'm supposed to be). And I'm afraid that Diesel is all that he seems to be (and how confusing it is to be tantalized by that). Yes, the spark he shares with Hollie makes me believe he could be all that - and more!

I will read anything by Michelle Mankin and I never need to read a blurb to know that she will take my heart. So the relationship/love triangle combine that with a bit of a cliffhanger left me a bit on edge. No doubt this is a carefully constructed path I'm supposed to travel on this reading experience and I have that extra-special frisson feeling that there are tumultuous times ahead - and I can't wait for it! 5 Stars and recommendation!

*I received a free copy of High Tide. This has in no was influenced my review which is honest and unbiased.*

Since we met Hollie in book three of this series, I think it's a good idea to read that before High Tide!
Hollie has branched out on her own, and wants to continue to make a name for herself as an actress. However, there are people who don't want her to succeed, and she has more than one fight on her hands.
There really isn't very much I can say lest I spoil something - but I can say that I'm extremely anxious to get the next book in the series. The ending of High Tide made me go WTF! And have a long chat with my book besties about all our theories.
Well written, with great characters, High Tide has a bit of angst, a lot of story and plot, plus a little romance, and it's definitely a great read for summer.

This one definitely pulls at the heartstrings. Poor Hollie. All she ever wanted was to pursue her acting career and find someone to love. Her stepfather continues to make her life a misery, after threatening to sink her career, she hires Maximillian Cash, an ex-military turned 24/7 bodyguard to protect her. They have an instant chemistry, however she is still on the threshold of womanhood. Her sister Fanny found her soul mate in Ash a member of the band Dirt Dogs and when she organises a birthday celebration for Hollie, all bets are off when it comes to Bass guitarist Diesel Le. He does not mince words and lets Hollie know in no uncertain terms that he wants her.

Max seems to be the safe, loyal and easiest choice, but she cannot deny her mixed emotions whenever she is around Diesel. Be prepared for an explosive cliffhanger to lead into the final second chance duet. This was equal parts heartbreaking and mesmerising. I can't wait to see Hollie get her HEA. I was fortunate enough to receive an ARC and this is my honest review.

Seriously?!?!?

THAT’s where things are left at??

UGH…

Well, at least the conclusion is just around the corner, but still…

Anyways...moving on.

So, with this being a duet I’m going to keep this one uber-vague (#sorrynotsorry) because so much happens, and doesn’t happen, that if I do my typical review I will probably slip and spoil something and I don’t want to do that...Hollie, Max and Diesel. These three gave me a run for my money. I loved them, I rolled my eyes at them, I hurt for them and there were moments (more than one) where I wanted to Gibbs smack them, but they all had me wanting more. They are all complex, vulnerable and real.

As for the whole triangular second chance romance thing...I did the whole scratching of the head thing when I first read that, but now it makes sense and considering everything that happens in High Tide with Hollie, Max and Diesel, I can guarantee you that Island Side is going to be one hell of a ride.

I must give props to the author for taking this story in the direction she has. She tackles some pretty heavy issues, so yes, there are triggers, and yet, things get angsty (I’ll let you decide how much for yourself) but everything that happens works. There were some things that didn’t make me happy, but they all made sense within the context of the story. As for the secondary cast of characters...there are some newbies I ended up liking and a few I’d like to gut with a rusty spoon and I enjoyed catching up with the Dirt Dogs crew and cannot wait to hang out with them all in the conclusion to Hollie’s story and the series!

I had read Oceanside and I enjoyed it. So when I was given the opportunity to read this one I jumped on it. I now wish that I hadn't and I can see I'm only one who didn't like it. Hollie is an actress and is going through a tough time thanks to her pervert stepfather. She ends up falling for her bodyguard. However, the author decides to turn this into a love triangle and I hate those. The ending to this one was cheap and quite frankly disappointing. Needless to say, we now know who she will end up with in the end.

I keep going back and forth on the star rating on this. I'm gonna stick with 3 for now.

I have loved the series so far, but this one just didn't pull me in like the others.

Hollie is young but wants to hold her own. I like and dislike this. I love a strong female lead and at times that's what we got, then other times we really didn't. As a mom to a 19 yr old that has decided to up and change her whole life plan (over a boy). Throwing the "I'm 19 and an adult" line at me without considering the other people in her family, I saw a lot of that in Hollie and it hurt from the mom aspect (or more so Fanny side). But at the same time I do like a take control lead. So it has me going back and forth.

I knew something was up with Max. I hated how Hollie just kept sweeping everything aside. (again the mom in me is seeing my daughter do this).

At times it seemed to drag out. I never really got the feels for either one and I hated when Diesel came into it and how quickly Hollie seemed to switch from Max to him. Nothing felt real the whole story. So for me, it was hard to connect with any one character.

Truth be told, I'm not sure I have enough 'shits' to give to read the second half of the story. I have a feeling I know which way it will go and I'm just not sure I care enough to read a wish-washy Hollie. Maybe if this or the next were dual pov. *shrug*

Oh my! High Tide was akin to a roller coaster ride. It started kinda slowly, making its way around those warm-up curves and dips. Things changed once we hit that big hill, building tension and anxiety. Once we went over? Well all I can say is you better hang on! There is so much I want to say about High Tide but can't because it would spoil the story. And this is one to be experienced.

We finally get Hollie’s story!! I’ve been anxiously waiting to read Hollie’s story since meeting her in Oceanside. She is Fanny’s little sister from the Oceanside book so read that first if you haven’t already.

Hollie is a young actress in a court battle with her stepfather. She in that in between age. Not yet an adult yet she’s been thrown out into the big world with many responsibilities and decisions to make.

Maximilian Cash is Hollie’s hot sexy body guard. He’s a gentle giant that takes his job to protect Hollie very serious. There’s definitely chemistry between Max and Hollie yet Max is taking it extremely slow since she is his employer and not yet an adult. —- Slow Burn

Diesel Le is the bassist for the Dirt Dogs’ rock band. Hollie’s sister Fanny is dating a member of the band. Hollie formed an explosive love to hate attraction to Diesel in the Oceanside book. They meet again in the best way in this story. He’s the bad boy she shouldn’t be attracted to but can’t help herself.

This book is the perfect angsty triangle. It has rockstars, bodyguards, movie stars and fashion. Lots of sexual tension!!! Can’t wait for the next book.

I was given ARC for this one for honest review.

From the beginning of this book I was left holding my breath as you knew & felt something coming but didn't know what it was going to be because there was so much going on.

Hollie was young almost 18 but had gone through so much from a young age which sometimes made her seem older but she was innocent at the same time. Being in the public eye from such a young age believing the awful things her father (so she thought) told her as he was famous director then her world fell apart that is when Max come into to protect her from the one man she should have been able to trust. There was so many twist in this one you didn't know who to trust as much as Hollie.
This is the first book in the duet & I know the next one is going to be emotional roller coaster that you just don't want to get off.

I can’t say enough on how good this book is. I had to step away once I finished before writing my review as I am so emotional. For me signs of a good book are that I can’t put it down ( at least I don’t want to), I become the character, the emotions that are felt by the character are felt by me, and I want more. This book has it all and more! My heart went out to Holly and her sister Fanny. I despised their step father and everything he stood for and stooped to do. Max was such a good person for Holly, but he had demons he had to get over. Their love story is heart wrenching and beautiful. Ms. Mankin has such a gift in her writing that she touched my soul. The only thing that I don’t like, is I have to wait for the next book to see how it ends! I will be sure to read it though as it is worth the wait. I strongly encourage you to read the book. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader’s Copy of the book.

I absolutely loved this book and with the way it ended I can’t wait till the next part of the duet comes out cause I need it in my life immediately!! Hollie is so sweet and strong for being so young (17 at the start of the book) but yet her youth still shines through at certain points in the book and it’s obvious she needs a helping hand along the journey she’s on against her stepfather, enter Max who she hires as her bodyguard and the sparks are there instantly but he isn’t a fan of crossing and lines especially one who is 17 until she turns 18 lol but all he really wants to do is keep her safe from all the chaos surrounding her.

ARC Kindle Copy for Review

I received a free, advance copy of this book and this is my unbiased and voluntary review.

Former actress Hollie Lesowski returns as she battle with the man who she believed was her father a famous director. As the battle plays out on the court stage she does not know who to trust even her bodyguard Maximillian Cash with her darkest secrets.

Meanwhile Diesel Le is a rock star in her sister’s band who was a former surfer who is driving her and the band mates crazy with his antics. She finds herself constantly trying to avoid him. It will become a battle of choice between someone she employees and a known player. Who will she choose?

It is another sizzling story for those who enjoy the Dirty Dogs stories.

Hollie has finally turned 18 and trying to take on Hollywood by storm even though she is in a huge lawsuit with her stepfather. Her dad will stop at nothing to bring her to heel and fall back in line. As she is spreading her wings she is torn between her sweet bodyguard Max and the sexy rocker Diesel. Does she go with the sweet or the sour? Life is never easy in the world of Holliwood.

Mankin creates in depth characters that you want to know more about. Lots of good plot twist and turns that the reader does not see coming. Mankin also brings in glimpse of past couples that we have falling in love with in prior books.

This was not the book for me. I did not enjoy a lot of this book for several reasons, none of which I can explain because I don't want to spoil anything! Still...

This story is beautifully written - I've said about this author's writing before that it's lyrical. This book falls into that category. The characters are well rounded and fleshed out to the point they feel like ppl you know or want to know. You want to hug them or yell at them or smack some sense into them.

This is a HIGHLY emotional read. And part of the reason I didn't like it is also the reason I'm HIGHLY anticipating and looking forward to reading Island Side. : )

High Tide is a 2 part story that chronicles what happened to Hollie - Fanny's younger sister from Oceanside Book 3 in the Rock Stars, Surf and Second Chances Series. As I have said in my previous reviews, it would be best to read the prior book, if not all to thoroughly enjoy what happens in each.
To be completely honest, this book was a 3 star for ME, until the end, which has me waiting for book 5 with much anticipation. However back to my rating. I liked the story, which has some very relevant issues regarding Hollie in today's entertainment industry. What I have an issue with is Hollie's age, decisions and how she conducts her love life. Just because she is a "star" doesn't make a 17 year old turning 18 in the story a "woman". I prefer my heroines a little more mature and older. Again, it's a "me" shouldn't detract from what has been my favorite Michelle Mankin Series.

OMG 😮
People come into our lives for different reasons.
To:
Love us,
Teach us,
Hurt us and sometimes to Protect us. They will, for reasons unknown, impact our lives in different ways.
This story broke my heart. It was one of those beautiful tragic love stories that pulls your heart in every direction. It’s a crazy rollercoaster of emotions that blows your mind.
I’m so looking forward to reading the next book and in wonder of how it may end.

I thought Hollie was a great character, she was so determined to make her own way, to overcome the hurdles that her stepfather, the man that hurt her so much seemed to relish putting in her way, she had the potential to have the world at her feet but he was so bitter that she was left feeling that she had no option but to hire herself a bodyguard.
I felt so sorry for her, feeling that way must have been so profound for her but I liked the fact that she was willing to at least own her situation and be proactive. She took control of what was happening in her life no matter how unpleasant it was at times and acted.
Now, Max Cash her bodyguard was a good guy and there was some pretty incendiary chemistry between the two of them from the outset, but by the time their situation morphed into something more I was beginning to wonder what exactly was going on with him because he was a little sketchy at times, and some of his behaviour was just plain weird…but why?
Of course, Hollie is a great girl but I couldn't help but get the feeling that the situation with Max was just too simple, I wondered what else was going to come along, luckily the author had the latest complication in Hollie's life, all lined up and things were destined to get more than a little mixed up!!!
So what was her complication - well it wasn't a what...nope it was a who and he came in the most delicious package, one that she knew she was going to have a problem keeping at arm’s length.
From the time Hollie stepped foot at her sister's party she was caught in the crosshairs of everything that is the Dirt Dogs band because not only is Ash, her sister’s partner a member…No, her main problem was the fact that she was left in no uncertain terms what the bass player Diesel Le has in mind for her!
Oh, I do love a man with a filthy mouth!
So, now Hollie has a choice to make, her safe and solid ex-military man Max or the enigmatic Diesel????
I liked the fact the story had options, that there was enough going on to bring forward genuine anxiety, I wanted what was best for her but I honestly didn’t know which way she should jump, which of the guys was going to be the guy for her?
Diesel gave off a vibe that for much of the time I wasn’t sure I actually understood or wanted to understand, he was everything I expected from someone in his position, I mean he played the perfect part of being a man-whore, but was he more than he let on? Whilst I was initially “team Max” I have to admit that as the story progressed, he really did start to freak me out, he wasn’t all that he appeared to be and that was disconcerting! What exactly was he capable of and what did that mean for Hollie??
But when it came to Diesel , Hollie was like a moth drawn to a flame, he drew her in they had a connection that neither of them could verbalise, their souls seemed connected, and with a cliff hanger of an ending the second book in the duet can't arrive soon enough there are so many questions that I quite simply NEED to have answers too!!

If you haven't already read Oceanside, book 3 in Michelle's Rock Stars, Surf and Second Chances Series, it might be a great way to get all the feels for Hollie's backstory and some of the 'players', by reading this first- you still have time to catch up!!! Oceanside was Fanny's heartwrenching story with Ash and still my favorite in this series.

These two sisters lived a wealthy and privileged life but their home wasn't a happy place for them or their beloved mother. Growing up under the thumb of her father, world renown in the entertainment world, Hollie was a teen actress and he never spared his criticism of every aspect of her life.

High Tide takes us right back to where we left off as Hollie is fighting her personal legal battle with the powerfully connected man she thought was her father, after he attacked and assaulted her and she ran for her life.

Hollie, now 17 years old, is still acting and working hard to stay on top her game. It's the only life she's known and she's in demand, trying to stay one step ahead of her stepfather as he uses every trick in the book to take her down and ruin her reputation. Good thing Hollie has 24/7 live in protection courtesy of that hunky blond adonis bodyguard, Max Cash...yikes, he's intense!

She has a major crush on him, but, hello..still 17 !!! I didn't feel their connection the way I thought I might. Don't get me wrong, their mutual attraction was real, but maybe it was the fact that she was so young and I'm not!!! Haha! Maybe because I thought he was hiding something from her which made me wary since she seemed to be missing all the obvious clues. Her immaturity was showing at times and I wanted to say..stopppp! She was very young and inexperienced with relationships and it showed.

Anyway, when Diesel Le, super sexy, dirty talking Dirt Dogs manho comes charging over to escort her to her 18th birthday party, their sparks are flying, while Max is suspiciously MIA on her special day. Warning- Hollie's got her hands and mind full of not one, but two gorgeous, possessive men who both are very excited that she's finally turning 18. Some swoonworthy moments going on here!

So, this book has everything a beachy summer read needs to snag you into its wicked web- secretive bodyguard, suspenseful and dramatic twists and turns, sexy rocker and his talented band that you'll be so happy to see again. Then, of course, a wildly unexpected ending that will have you saying WTF did I just read here????

Thank goodness the 2nd part of this duet, Island Side, will be out very soon after this one releases because..just WOW, I'm not quite sure I know exactly what happened here, and I need more details to discover how this unbelievably shocking final scene plays out. I know what I HOPE will end up happening..let it happen, Michelle, please!

An early copy of this book was given to me in exchange for my honest review of it.

4.5 stars

As I got to the last page of the final chapter, my first thought was- now what the heck am I supposed to do with THAT?? At least the second half of the story is only a little over a week away!!

Hollie was first introduced in Fanny and Ash's story. As this book opens, she is a few days away from her 18th birthday and she is trying to find a way to cope with the traumatic events that sent her into hiding with Fanny. The world has now heard the story of her assault at the hands of her stepfather, but the rich and powerful industry mogul is not going to go down without a fight. He will intimidate and ruthlessly attack anyone who dares to cross him or speak out against him, and he believes he can get away with it.

Hollie is a study in contradictions. On one hand, she is the child actress who is more worldly than she should be at her age. On the other hand, she is still very young and inexperienced in other ways compared to normal teens. At the end of the day, all she has ever wanted was someone to love her for her, almost to the point of desperation at times. When bodyguard Maximilian Cash comes into her life, he seems almost too good to be true.

Max is former military and a few years older than Hollie with an intensity that melts her when he turns those blue eyes her way. He is the steady comfort she needs in the turmoil surrounding her, but there are darker moments too. She realizes through her father's taunts and actions that someone in her inner circle is betraying her, and it is a really small circle leaving few options. Max becomes possessive, almost too controlling at times, and he has his own demons to fight as hints of concerning behavior seem to be just beneath the surface at times.

The one man who sets her on fire with just a look and simultaneously infuriates her is Diesel Le. Over 6 ft of hot Polynesian surfer/ rock god, he doesn't have a filter and doesn't hold back with her- in any way. His brutal honesty angers her at times but at others, it's just what she needs and the smug SOB knows it. Then occasionally he also shows her glimmers of the man behind the walls he has built over the years, and she realizes they are not all that different.

No matter which way she turns, she is presented with more difficult, heartbreaking and confusing choices. She is a bit naive and believes she can keep those she loves safe by pushing them away to protect them from her stepfather. Her self-imposed isolation fuels her self- doubt, and her views of twisted love from her childhood creep in to make her question everything.

Then we get to that last chapter and Oh mama it's a doozy! I can't imagine the angst level will drop in Island Side, but I need that puppy right NOW!

Okay so I’ve sat for a few hours letting myself absorb the ending of this book...first off I want to say Michelle you did a beautiful job on this book. In my opinion it’s one if not your best to date. The emotional level of this book was pretty high throughout. Hollie went through such a painful experience as a teenager with her stepfather...things that no child should have to endure. Those experiences broke Hollie and not even the man she loves could fix the damage done. Without giving anything away I really can’t say much about Max...though I will say this, even though all his faults he loved Hollie regardless of the situation they found themselves in.

I will say this...the end...I had a feeling something huge would have to happen for Island Side to begin and sadly I was not only right but my hunch as to what (though not exactly) was for the most part right.
The way the ending happened...the more I think on it the more it ticks me off. Maybe because I wasn’t given answers...Michelle I need answers...WHY? Why that way? Was what happened on purpose on Max’s part, or was it an accident?

Diesel in this book we really didn’t see much of him but there is a reason for that. We did however learn a little bit about Diesel that we didn’t know beforehand. Being a man-whore doesn’t count either cause we already knew that lol.

There really is so much I would love to say about this book but it would spoil it for the reader and this book needs to be gone into spoiler free. Michelle has quickly become a go to author for me and with good reasons...she’s not afraid to broach subjects that are taboo. Whether it’s AIDS or falling in love with your dead husbands best friend...Michelle writes the topics with grace and leaves you wanting more.
I for one can’t wait to dive into Island Side ASAP! I NEED to see how Hollie’s story ends.

High Tide A Duet bool 1 by Michelle Mankin
Holy hell!!!! This was such an awesome book.  This is not the first book I have read from Michelle and this one is nothing short of exceptional.  I fell in love with the characters and found myself stealing minutes here and there to read just a few more pages. Innocence, betrayal, intrigue, love and deception line the pages which kept this reader on the edge of her seat.
Hollie Leswoski, young actress and main character.  She is only 17 years of old and has a career that is taking off.  Currently she is in a legal battle with her stepfather and has caused some decisions to be made in her personal and professional life.  Security has been assigned and she is needing to hide from the public as the legal process moves forward. As an actress she is the center of attention of any man in her vicinity. Things start out innocent but by the end not so much.
There are a few men who want to be involved with Hollie but there is one that catches her attention, the bodyguard Maximillian Cash.  Blond hair, blue eyes and a surfer who has a past he is not willing to share with the women he has been charged with keeping safe.  As we move through the pages the chemistry between the two heats up and you find yourself wishing for them to be together.
By the end the story takes some turns I didn’t see coming and a few that I had anticipated.  The story ends in a good spot but not a happy one and let many many unanswered questions.  I hope the next book comes out soon because I need to see how this end.  I don’t want to give anything away, but I was in shock with the ending and in tears.  I hope what we read isn’t true because that is not how it should end.
I highly recommend this book for anyone who loves romance and looking for a good one.

Michelle Mankin clearly gave her all in High Tide. Getting Hollie's story at last after meeting her in Oceanside, I'm not sure I was ready for what would transpire. This emotionally-charged journey is full of the angst I devour happily. And with Mankin as my guide, I was fully immersed in the well-written and exceptional story right from the start.

Oh my goodness, what Hollie goes through in this book is at times unbelievable. She is beyond selfless and full of love that is just waiting to be shared. The devil that is her stepfather Samuel, made me want to reach into my Kindle and hug Hollie and keep him far away from her. The way she handles herself at such a young age had me in awe more than once. And even though she might push away those who will stand by her no matter what, she still adores them with everything she has. She is truly a one of a kind.

With her stoic bodyguard in Max by her side, this young actress could have it all. She's such a bright light and I was certain Max would keep her out of the dark for good. Their chemistry is electric and I was thrilled Hollie found a first true love in the blonde god.

But Mankin drops more than one bombshell as this riveting tale continues and I held my breath at what might happen next. Add to the mix the bad boy rocker that is Diesel Le and my heart along with Hollie's got one helluva workout!

This story has only just begun and with this being a duet, I can only pray Island Time will be here sooner rather than later!!

Michelle Mankin once again gave me the kind of story I crave in this wonderfully told coming of age book. It is a solid 5 star read all the way and is sure to be at the top of this year's summer obsessions.

High Tide
By: Michelle Mankin

📚💕⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💕📚

How much work should love be?

In Michelle Mankins 4th book in her (Rock Stars, Surf and Second Chance series)The writing is flawless, and the words are so captivating, the plot had so many twists and turns and none that I was expecting, and so many shocking moments then adding the ultimate tear jerking cliff hanger. In book 4 we get to revisit Hollie from book 3. Hollywood starlet running in plain sight from the man she believed was her father but is possibly the worst kind of awful know to and women or child.

Hollie has hired Maximilian Cash as her body guard but the problem is she is extremely attracted to him and she isn’t who he thought she would be. So when sparks fly and jealousy and distance get in the way of happiness can the make it work or will they grow farther apart.

This book has everything I love in a book. Then you add that it's beautifully written and believable. It is easily a five star read. Written in dual POV my personal favorite this story flows so incredibly well that the next thing you know your 80% into the book and loving every second of it. The believable way the characters interact is perfect. Run, Hop, Jump or use your (1 click) finger to do whatever you have to do and get this amazing book. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic and at times oh so heartbreaking.

I’m so looking forward to Island Side and I am so grateful that we won’t have to wait long for the second half of Hollie’s love story.
