Kenna Fitzpatrick loves her life in her small hometown of Easton. She just got her own place and is about to start her master’s program at the local university. The last thing she needs is a cocky man coming into her life and turning it upside down. Most especially when she finds out that man is going to take over her father’s job as the new fire captain. Evan O’Connor had no idea who Kenna’s father was when he met her. All he knew was that he was fascinated by her and wanted to know all that he could about her. Too bad she had other ideas. The attraction they feel can’t be denied and soon they start a simmering secret love affair, But can a small town girl let her guard down and believe that Evan might be the one for her, and what will the town and her father do when they find out about them?
MacKenzie Stowe began her love of reading and writing when she was very young. A hopeless romantic she likes to write stories about hot handsome men and the strong women who tame them. She loves her boyfriend, chocolate, wine and her animals but not always in that order. She is happily living in Sunny Southern California as she thinks up her next romantic story
I read all of the books in this trilogy, including the prequel as there are really four books, back to back and pretty much devoured the individual books in one sitting!
I thought that they were all great book, full of firefighters as you would expect and I do love a firefighter!
Each book had its own very strong storyline and they were brilliant. Well written and additive reads that I didn’t want to put down and as soon as I finished the previous book I was straight in to the next one in the series.
It was full of passion, romance, strength and they were very sexy reads – I loved them!!
It is 5 stars from me for this one – very highly recommended!
Kept on turning the bold up in my kindle in order to read it, because it was grey and faint on the page i felt like giving up because it was not bold in order to read it, so ended up giving me a headache... "Too many he said, she said again, which was annoying. So many mistakes! Also repeated in a couple of places. Some [DZN] also but in bold? Needs editing badly to become a good novel. I love the love interest, how ever the plot was lacking some what... I also expected them to be called out to a "FIRE" and reading about the party! Could be so much better with a little more FIRE!
Simmer is the first book I've read by MacKenzie Stowe. This is a fairly quick read, a good choice for those with limited reading time. Ms. Stowe has given readers a book that will hold your attention. I enjoyed the characters. It could have used a bit more editing to make it a smoother read. Simmer is the prequel to The Easton Firefighters Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
The story of Evan and Kenna is a wonderfully written story that kept me excited from the beginning. It’s fast paced and I had to binge read as there was no way I could put it down until the end. I would highly recommend it to everyone who loves romance books. I reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
Great chemistry between the main characters they literally run in to each other and for Evan it’s love at first sight he wins the girls heart after much secret meetings between the two
Too much sex. I don’t mind bedroom activity, as long as it goes with the storyline. Not where it is the storyline and everything else is extra. So frustrating. I really didn’t like her. Her heart didn’t seem to be in it. He was sweet and she pushed. It my favorite.
What a phenomenal read. I couldn't put it down. I love the way Ms. Stowe wrote the story. I felt like I was in the book. It tells the story of two firefighter families. Evan is a firefighter who wants a station of his own. Kenna is the daughter of a firefighter captain. They meet but neither knows who the other one is. Kenna walks into Evan because she is paying attention to her phone. Evan tries to stop her from running into him. She gets mad and tells him to watch where he's going. I'm not telling any more about the story. If you want to know, you need to get this book. This is a keeper. This is my first time reading MacKenzie Stowe, but not my last. I voluntarily received an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.
Kenna's father is retiring from his position as Captain of the Easton Fire Station. She bumps into his replacement, Evan, not knowing who he is and Evan is hooked. Can he convince Kenna that their relationship can withstand the fires of small town living? Wonderful story with great characters! Great start to this series! I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book and am leaving my honest review.
Loved the feistiness of Kenna and how she reacts to Evan who was smitten from first encounter. Theirs was a complicated relationship, one that only someone from a small town would understand. It was great to see if they would find their HEA or succumb to the small town drama. I did not realize this was a Prequel but I will definitely be reading more in this series.
I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest and totally voluntary review.
