What we have here is a truly special creation and a work of utter genius. I cannot recommend it strongly enough. Pau's artwork and story are pure comic bliss.

Atlas & Axis by Pau, is an fun little graphic novel, in the tradition of Asterix and Obelix, although a bit more violent. This book was interesting in its art style and animation, and had some good story elements. Even so, the characters were a bit weak here, and the world lacked a bit of magic and character. A fun read in some respects, but otherwise just a tad mediocre. Worth a quick read if you are looking for an adventure story to tied you over, or are missing the Asterix and Obelix vibes.

A cheap knock-off of Bone and Asterix the Gaul, existing in a nightmare world where sentient creatures constantly murder and cannibalize each other. The fact that the main characters are anthropomorphic dogs is a detriment, only seeming to come up in reference to butt smells and fecal references. The plot constantly goes off on tangents, most dangers are the result of pure stupidity on the protagonists' part, and there's a big digressive storyline diversion relating to evolution in there that might have been intended as educational and just come off as really goddamn weird.

The art would be fine, good even, if it wasn't animal people. I'm not sure why it was animal people, except this may have been intended for children (though it probably shouldn't be read by children, given the constant massacres).

The book ends on a cliffhanger with "THE END... FOR NOW!" and I hope it didn't get continued. Pau might have some potential as an artist if he draws something that someone else writes and stays away from furries.

Wonderful art and a super-fun read, I enjoyed the heck out of this.

This English language edition contains books 1 & 2 of the 4 book saga and in the six years since it was published there has been no Volume 2 to conclude the story for us english speakers. It seems like we may never get that which is a real crime as this volume ends on a bit of a cliff-hanger.

Although the story (in English) may never be concluded, I would still recommend reading this.

This was really boring to me. Sadly it looked and sounded like it was going to be good. The summary on the back was far more intriguing and the actual volume within was a huge letdown.
