What is supposed to be a reconnection for her and the start of a new life for him turns into a steamy love affair on a luxurious Mexican resort.
With their marriage facing rocky waters, Avian Linzy decides that what her and her husband, Marcellus, need is a trip to Mexico to set their union right again. However, on the day that they are set to leave, Marcellus announces to Avian that he wants a divorce. Broken hearted, Avian isn’t sure that she should go through with the vacation, but with the urging of her best friend, Lakeisha, she boards the plane to Mexico, alone. Lakeisha believes this trip can help Avian heal, but Avian remains skeptic until she unexpectedly meets the handsome Casyrius Knowlton.
Casyrius Knowlton is a man of means and has no problem getting what he wants, including his current position as a sports agent. In Mexico, Casyrius is planning to marry his high school sweetheart, Kiami Green. Casyrius’s love for Kiami runs deep, but that doesn’t stop him from having doubts when it comes to their upcoming nuptials. The ties to their relationship are hanging on by a slim thread, but completely snap when a would-be tragic event lands Avian in Casyrius’s arms. Literally.
Over the course of a week, Casyrius grows closer to Avian, but after his reason for being in Mexico is revealed, Avian disappears without a trace, and he’s determined to find the woman he’s unknowingly given a piece of his heart to. It won’t be easy, but Casyrius learns that anything worth having, rarely is.
After getting her heart broken twice within a week, will Avian be able to find love again, or will she hold on to what could have been between her and Casyrius? If Casyrius finds her, will he be able to handle the secrets that she was hiding from him for so long?
Omg this book was so amazing. It had my attention from beginning to end. Very well written and the characters were just great. I love how this book showed how being in toxic relationships can cause us to forget who we are as a person all because we want to please our significant other. I think this was a lesson for Avi and Case to learn in their relationships before they found that true love within each other. Highly recommended reading.
oh my god this book was good from the beginning to the end celly or as she call him I'm glad she left him and went to Mexico and met the famous Case. but I was mad that he didn't tell her he was in Mexico for his weeding then his suppose to be Best friend Greg slept with her behind his bad was just low down but I'm glad they rekindled and got married
Let me start with I loved that this was a standalone. Case pissed me off by having his cake & eating it too but I knew he was going to get together. Kiami & Cellus needed to be together truthfully. Avi was a fool but she learned her worth
Bianca has done it again, another hit for me! Take Me As I Am was everything. Case and Avi was the best ever, I just loved those two together! I low key had a thing for Marcus, lol! Highly recommended for all readers!!!
This book was good. It held my attention from the very first page. Avian with thru a lot and glad to see In the end she gotten happy ending. Case was something else. This book was perfect standalone.
how can a man be such a coward? cell and Greg were pitiful. Case can't nobody make you do something you don't want to do. ava never love a man more than you love you
This story flowed well, and I felt every emotion! I love that everything worked out for everyone in the end. When you’re meant to be, love will find a way.
Avi was a beautiful girl that was hidden by her husband for years. She was left broken and unsure of herself and fled on what was supposed to be a couples trip. Her hero ends up being C. Know and they immediately hit it off even though he conveniently forgets to tell her an important secret. Avi runs away because she can't stand the pain and creates a new life for herself. Ultimately after years fate has its final say so. I really liked this book, but I couldn't give 5 stars to the way they spoke to this beautiful black woman. He was supposed to be head over heels yet called her little black as$ girl and several other terrible references. I would not want my beautiful dark brown daughter to feel that stupidity was acceptable.
I loved everything about this read. The love scene-Joe. That’s my song!!! I loved that part. Case really should’ve been honest from the jump. I was pissed that he chose to write a letter!!! Omg!!! Marcellus...that’s self hate right there smh Case really found the love of his life! I loved when he told Avi, I just want to serve you!!! Man this was a great book!!!
This book was really good and as always you never disappoint. Your topics are always real and so is the love between the characters. Casyrius and Avian made my heart smile.. I'm glad they got it together.
Man I don't know where to begin. From the teaser you had me hooked! The disrespect that Marcellus displayed to Avian had me upset but nothing cures disrespect/mistreatment better than karma. Greg just disgusted me. Him and kiami deserve each other. Glad Case and Avi got what the deserved too!
I have not been able to say that I lovedddddd reading a book in a minute.I read this book in 3hours.I could not put it down. 10 stars BIANCA...LOVED IT
This was definitely a 5 minus few details that was not up to par but nothing is ever 💯 percent perfect. This is my second time reading this author although I did not know it, but I am so glad that I did not look into my history to have seen that I had read one of her books and did not like it. The book in question was "falling for a black millionaire" and it was so poorly writing and the plot was so bad I didn't click on the option to have this author followed which was why it went under my radar and was I happy about this mistake because I would have passed on a great story. There were a few mishap in this story that put a small frustration to the full enjoyment; such as: 1) the reason that Case gave as to why he is going forward with the original plan with Kiami was so childish(was the only word I could come up with), 2) the reason why Avi never spoke to Case (again childish), 3) the reason why Marcus did not say anything to Case when he came over (so absurd) and finally the reason Case stayed for this long. Then to top all that, the feeling of having the end rushed as if it was yesterday that they had left each other was unbelievable. And lastly, how without any repercussion all of these people just learned of each other's existence and boom, all is well in Huntsville... But for real, even with all of these hiccups it was a very profound story, one that happens everyday to some high class people that a lot of the times we do not acknowledge. The abuse, physically, emotionally or verbally is never acceptable as well as suicide, and in this story the author touched it with a lot of professionalism. It will make you ask yourself all of these questions and make you opened your eyes and see if you can't do something about it. This will have you question the ultimate: are you in because you have become so complacent and use to the routine or are you in because of love? The author really put out her talent there and for that alone this book deserves more than a five star, because she has not only touched on a delicate story of abuse and why one stays and take it, while also touching on your spirituality and his purpose in your life. Great book MS. Bianca... Can't wait to read your other stand alone stories...
Overall, the book was good, however, it wasn't great. Avian and Case were not well-developed characters. I could not visualize them At all. I know that he was "caramel" with dreads. She was petite and "chocolate". At the forefront, there were the social issues of verbal abuse and mental health. Neither of the characters were ready for a long-term commitment when they met. Case married a woman he did not love and lost my respect, and Avian ran from her deep-seated issues. I found both to be immature and not ready for anything at any point in this story. There were anger issues too, which caused both to attempt to resolve issues with physical violence.
The high ratings were the reason I read this story. I was too far into it to give up. I usually believe it will improve. I got lost in a story that I felt was too much of everything. When God got tossed into the middle, I was through.
I normally try to give helpful reviews. I may have missed the point of this story altogether. It's hard to tell. This left me scattered, however, in a bad way. I am a romance junkie who loves to fall in love and get lost in the fictional world created by the writer. This book left me cold.
I am happy that I stayed the course and finished, however, I cannot say that I will deliberately subject myself to this again.
Well at least I was able to finish the book. I liked the premise. The execution was terrible. Some parts I found to be over the top. Other parts had me scratching my head. I still don’t understand why Case went ahead and married Kiami knowing that she constantly cheats and she's crazy as hell. Also the fact that Case used to hit her when they would fight didn't curl over right with me. His excuse was he was young and that's how their relationship used to be. Ummmmmm I don't know about that especially since he likes to choke during sex. That made me uncomfortable. Maybe his ass needed to go.to therapy too.
The format of the story was ok. The time jumps was fine except for when it was 30 minutes later. Like really? Did we really need that? Other than saving Avian (isn't that the dictionary term for bird?) from heralded I have no idea why these two were together romantically. I didn’t believe they fell in love so fast.
Hardly any description of the characters. Was Case light skinned? I also didn’t like how he kept referring to Avi as black ass girl. She told him how her biracial husband hated her brown skin. That made zero sense. And she was okay with it.
I don’t understand why this book got such high ratings but to each their own. It wasn’t awful but it can definitely be a helluva lot better.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Yes!!! I normally don't read books that deal with mistresses/side chicks because I don't want to contribute to that mind frame that seems so popular now a days. This book was so much more and I'm glad I read it. This book discussed suicide, self-worth, toxic relationship, and overcoming them. As a woman I related to Avian, most of us have been in situations where we questioned our worth and feeling like it's to late to start over. I liked the fact that Avian was older than Case. Case was Avian's savior! He made me MAD with several choices he made with Mimi (I won't spoil the book). Avian had me screaming at my kindle when she kept running away! This book is 5 stars because it was not only a great story but it leaves you with a message that it's never to late, love yourself and allow someone to Take You As You Are💓
This is my first book by Bianca and from the very beginning it had my mouth on the floor. It was such a page turner and I was already singing the books praises until I got to the halfway point. Still a good read I just felt that one of the main characters had room to grow. His reactions towards Avian’s secret was just to dull to me. I started expecting him to have a different reaction to the one he had...Then it jumped from the present to 4 years just like that. And minimal backstory during that 4 year span. I understand why when I reached the authors notes. She wanted it to be a novella but stretched it out. But I felt like she should’ve kept it as a novella or just really gave us more of the story. Especially in Case and Maimi and Avian when she left with her secret.
I had not expected this to be such a good read. Actually it was a great read. This book was chosen by one of my bookclub members for February’s read. How can I say: “book well written. This book had just the right amount of steam in it to get you going along with a good storyline. From the top it made you want to whip someone’s butt. The more you got into it the greater the book got. It actually made you feel sorry for some of the characters that should were portrayed as the villains. The number one take away for me was know your worth with or without a man. Bianca touched on so many subjects that women are plagued with but, it didn’t take away from the story. I enjoyed this and could go on and on about how good it was. Kudos fo Bianca for a job well done.
This was very touching story about self love and self preservation. In order to love someone wholeheartedly you have to love yourself and in the case of Avian she learned that during a trip to Mexico. Case and Avi were two people in toxic relationships that pulled them together. Ki was off her rocker but, that just shows what generational abuse can do to the offspring. Cell was the epitome of self hate and it’s sad what he did as a resolution instead of getting help. Greg was a sh*tty friend and deserved that beat down. I’ve read all of Bianca’s books but this has to be one of my favorites from her. Small grammatical errors but not many. If you’re in a toxic relationship it’s never too late to escape and find your happiness. Just look at Avian.
When you wrote, "Falling for a Black Billionaire," I was so in love that you had switched to romance and thought you had reached a higher level of your writing potential. This love story proves that you've elevated even higher. Case and Avian really went through matters of the heart. I still can't believe that Case married Kiami knowing that she was unstable AND cheating on him with his best friend Greg who was jealous of Case. Marcellus was a dirty dog and I'm glad he caught hell for doing Avian the way he did her. I'm glad she had true friends like Marcus and Kay to have her back. I love how the girls initials are AD like Avian but the boys names are like Case name. I'm glad that they got their HEA.
This was a great journey for a lot of women to take especially if they've been in toxic and unhealthy relationships. The story was also good for men because Case displayed that men can be sensitive and caring as well. You know what Ralph Tresvant sang , " You need a man with Sensitivity a man like me. " This story will move you in ways emotionally, spiritually and for me physically. I was filled with so much heartache and pain, that I had to take a break from the book, walk it off and come back to it, because I saw a lot of me in Avia along with some unforgettable memories. For me this was a great read, informative and filled with good entertainment to. ReneeG 👍
I honestly can say that this story is so relatable. I know what it feels like to stay in a toxic relationship because it is all you know. No matter what you have been through with that person, they always find a way to get you back in. Avi thought Celly loved her but he didn't and it took her through some things to be done with him. Case just stayed because of the familiarity and his child and I have seen that also. But after it all their love was something that could only be given to each other. They had to be apart to get things together. I really loved them!!! Another great one Bianca!!!
Omg this book spoke to me on so many levels. I was Avi for 13yrs as well. I loved my ex husband so much I couldn't see how much it hurting my as well as our children. He cheated our whole marriage n tore me down until I hated myself n everyone around me. I believed everything he told me. I was fat ugly wit 3kids no one will ever want me. He left me with 3 kids nothing married his mistress adopted 7 of her cousin n don't think about the 3 we have together beside child support they don't exist to him. I hope one day I will find that man to love me like Case did Avi. It's been 5yrs so maybe my time for love is coming Thank you for this book
Take Me as I Am I never, ever, never thought I would see the day where I was for a relationship where I wanted a woman to be with a married man! Y'all got to read this, I think this is an only exception. Case, his picture should be by the word man in the dictionary. I don't know if they come more real than him. Kiami, her picture should be by the the word nut. Damn girl was Coco for coacoa puffs, LITERALLY! Marcellus picture could be by a couple words, he was a whole ass! Avi... You know what? Just read the book. I enjoyed this read because it went against everything I believe. Yet I was rooting for it. 4.5*
This book was real, raw, perfect length, excellent story line and character development! The book addresses some real life situations that exist in the real world, but often not contemplated until it affects someone personally! !am one that usually like sequels, but this book gave me every thing I needed and answered every question that I pondered! the names of the characters and there story spoke to me so strong.... I felt like I had a personally relationship with some of them. I could not but this book down, until I finished it! Great Job as usual Bianca!!!!!!
This book was a selection for my bookclub discussion which is what prompted me to grab it, and from the first page I was all in.
Avi and Case made me laugh, made me cry, made my heart swell with anticipation for them as well as made me fan from the heat between them. They were beautiful people inside and out that deserved each other’s love after all they had endured.
The book was amazing from beginning to end and now so can’t wait to devour more of this author’s work.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Case' embodies all the qualities of the Man most women desire, including myself. I love how it caters to those who have been in toxic relationships, both men and women and how two individuals leaving that type of environment can indeed heal each other WITHOUT bringing unhealthy baggage into their new relationship. The two main characters found in each other what they didn't receive from their previous partners and that caused and instant, intensified and solidified connection between them. This one was definitely a hit for me. I'm glad I read it
I dont know where to start. This was EVERYTHING. I loved Case and Avi. Most people will think that falling in love with somebody in a week is impossible but its absolutely is, I've witnessed it, I've experienced it. This love story is one that will keep you captivated and you wont want to pjt the book down. The love that Case had for Avi was so beautiful. I dont want to give anything away so I'll stop here and wait for the discussion in your group. You did an AMAZING job with this one. Thank you for sharing this with us.
