When an author gets the names of her characters wrong (Casey became Haley) it really is a big no, no. Plus the plot was really pushing the envelope. For all their talk of standing up for right and truth - a murder will go unpunished. Yeah I know they were protecting the mother (Haley) and baby but it still doesn't make it right. The dead man was also a game piece in the game. When she gets a phone call from an old college friend asking her to look after her grandson whilst the mother goes in search of the missing daughter, she and her BFF leave and race to her side. Along the way they encounter Guss, an old style sheriff. During their talk about the baby with the grandmother they hear a shot. A dead man outside the cabin. A parole prisoner out early on computer hacking crimes. When the grandmother leaves her grandson and races off the two women follow her (with Guss also following but unbeknownst to them). What is actually going on? Why did she and her BFF get dragged into this - where they just being used? Is there a chance of a happy ending?
I liked this series of books and hope more will come in the future! I was sad to read that this is the last book. I enjoyed this book and it's mixture of one's emotional journey post divorce combined with the desire to help mankind.
The characters in this story of adventure and mayhem have a lot of fun while they romp off on another road trip, join the author as she entertains our minds.
After reading this book a second time I felt bad about my previous review. I must have been in a down mood at that time. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys cozy mysteries.
