A new wave of terror spreads through Gotham City, as the sinister Mr Bloom hands out his deadly seeds to the poor, the desperate and the ambitious. These devices bring out superhuman abilities in their users, but burn up their lives with radioactive fire. Can Batman defeat Bloom? The question is more urgent than ever, as Batman is no longer the original version - but Commissioner James Gordon, given an armoured suit by Powers International.
Meanwhile, a contented figure helps out at Gotham's youth centre and begins to fall in love with an old flame. Will Bruce Wayne choose happiness - or finally accept his true destiny?

I cried so much reading this issue, anything about the heart of why Bruce became Batman always cuts me open; his self-sacrifice, his mental strength, his fortitude, and heart, just *cry*
Commissioner Gordan was a great Batman, he tried so hard and gave it his all and Bloom was brilliant, seriously scary. As a villain, he basically snuck inside those desperate for hope and burned them from the inside out as he destroyed the entire garden around you; simply terrifying.
Especially loved: The scene with John Doe and Bruce and the whole bug metaphor, Alfred, everything he said made me cry, Jules, I love Catwoman/Selina Kyle but Jules would have been a perfect wife for Bruce.
I enjoyed it. Thought the new villain was creepy & sure it did get kinda ludicrous in parts but it’s a comic & that’s part of the reason why comics can be fun. Screw logic.
