Lissa stared open-mouthed at the GIF that played over and over on the screen in front of her. Heat flushed to her face, igniting her skin. Her heart started pounding in her chest. Stupid internet, it should really come with a warning label. She swallowed once. Twice. Just scroll past it. Of course she was going to scroll past it. She wasn't going to sit there and stare at... Star. Lissa is a twenty-something party-planner. She's never been interested in relationships or sex and as the years have gone by she has retreated more and more into her work. Everything changes when she meets Star, a porn actress with a heart of gold and a troubled childhood. They say that opposites attract, but how much of that is true? What chance do they have when one of them is a virgin and the other one star in pornography?
Kathy grew up travelling around the world but is now settled with her wife in Sweden. By day she is a primary school teacher, a role she truly loves and with the little spare time she has she enjoys cooking, playing video games and spending time with her family.

**'Never tell your readers what your story is about..Beware of the metaphor,it is dangerous..'
Fairly okay read! My indifference:- i had such mixed feelings after finishing this book -- good premise but poor execution, too many abrupt switching between each stories (confusing) and too many unfinished storylines. I also found it difficult to stay with the narrative because of both the leads' strange behaviors and their bedroom antics plus all the other supporting characters who i think had a some what okay chemistry in this story. Much of the book centers on Star's some what building relationship with Lissa, but I was more drawn in by the non-developed & non-existence of the storylines. There was so much in this book to deal with for instance: after her mom's death,Star did find herself contemplating between a new romance with Lissa while being intoxicatingly free from her porn-aholic ways plus pursuing some kind of overseas adventure and juggling her own flaws & insecurities that she needed to deal with. At times Ms.Salt does exudes raw, propulsive, unfailingly profound storytelling but then shrivels back to where the storyline lacks no depth or a bit of questioning. Unsatisfying ending..sigh!
Stargazing is the first novel I have read from author Kathy L. Salt. I must say that I enjoyed this book immensely. I loved the story line and enjoyed the characters. The development and the pace of the story were done beautifully. This story really drew me in from the start. I started to read this book the night before and I couldn’t put it down. But, of course I had to sleep. I picked up today where I left off. I finished the book and immediately wanted to know what happened next for Lissa and Star. Let me tell you a little about them.
Lissa is a twenty-three-year-old single woman. She is shy and is a bit uncertain of how she feels sexually towards women. She knows that she is a lesbian, but it isn’t something she goes around talking about. That is until she sees a certain GIF on the internet and the woman catches her eye. As fate would have it, she meets this woman at a party that she is catering. She is intrigued by this woman from the start. But, will she follow her heart or let her head get in the way of what could be?
Star is a twenty-nine- year-old porn star, as some might put it. She is someone that is used to being in control. She has issues with her mother and hasn’t been in a relationship in years. She attends a welcome home party for an old friend and meets a beautiful woman whom she is drawn to immediately. She finds it interesting at the reaction she receives from the woman, when she realized she recognizes her. Star is not looking for a relationship, but this woman is bringing something out in her and she isn’t sure how she feels about it. Will Star follow her heart or push her feelings aside and be alone forever?
I loved how their friendship started and then blossomed. The growth of their relationship was so gradual, something most of us could relate to on some level. It was so adorable, how they each in their own way were opening up and didn’t even know it. Lissa allowed Star to take her time with understanding her feelings. At the same time, Star allowed Lissa to take her time understanding how she felt about Star and her job. This was something that could have driven them apart from the start. I was glad that Lissa was able to get passed that by expressing her concerns and being honest with Star. I feel that in every way, Lissa and Star were perfect for each. I was sad when the story ended. I hope that we will get to see these two women again.
I can’t wait to read more by this wonderful author. I truly hope you enjoyed this review. Also, I received this book as an ARC, in exchange for an honest review.
