Erin Morris has been in love with Jackson Hartley since they were teenagers, so when she made the hardest decision of her life, it broke her, and Jackson's heart. That didn't stop her from becoming successful, but she never got over Jackson. Years later, because she would do anything for her brother, Oliver, she finds herself face to face with her past, and he's doing everything he can to show he doesn't give a crap. Jackson 'Jax' Hartley is now a musician with a band on the cusp of stardom, and he's everything that a bad boy rocker embodies. He only gets worse when Erin joins the tour, so he's not giving her a chance to apologize, and he's spiraling out of control. The band gives him a choice, to clean up his act, or leave the band, so Jax finds himself in Texas with Erin at her grandparent's ranch. Will this time give them a chance to put the past to rest? This is the first book that I've read by Alexandria Bishop, and boy have I been missing out by coming late to this awesome party! I couldn't put it down for anything, and now I find myself craving so much more. Even though I loved Erin a ton, in my opinion, I feel like she was too nice to Jax, which made me want to shake her a bit. And Jax, even though he was drool worthy, I stayed enraged with him most of the story, as he was just a huge douche (I said way worse about him, but amazon won't let me state how I really feel), and I wanted to not only throat punch him, but junk punch him many times. Yes, I understood his heartbreak, but still, he was just cruel to her for spite, so frankly, I'm still pissed at him. Now that I got that slight rant out, I will say that the colorful cast of secondaries at least gave me a bit of comedic relief, that had me laughing a time or two. Alexandria Bishop sucked me in from the very beginning with her talented writing style, and I NEED MORE IMMEDIATELY! With all of that being said, I can do nothing less than HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND Fighting for Jax to EVERYONE!

I have been anticipating this book since I read Freeing Jude last year. I'm a huge fan of Alexandria Bishop and I love the Marlowe boys! I love that we continue to see into the lives of the previous band members and their significant others. I also love the other supporting characters. I've never been a huge fan of the celebrity/rocker story, but Alexandria can pull it off. You can tell she is passionate about this. This was another fantastic 5 star read for me and I'm anxious to read more from Alexandria Bishop! I'm hoping we get some stories from the supporting characters in the future.
I must admit that from previous books, I wasn't the biggest fan of Erin Morris. So I was worried going in how my feelings for her would go. Seeing her back story and what happened and made her who she is, really enlightened me. I enjoyed reading more in depth about her character.
Our past makes us the people we are today. It makes you stronger and forces you to learn from your previous mistakes, only to make you better as a person.
I was always a fan of Jax from the previous books, and this one was no different. Although, it gutted me reading his downward spiral. I felt like I was experiencing his lowest of low points and it was awful and gut-wrenching to watch this amazingly, awesome punk rocker be reduced to this angry, aggressive guy.
There's a fine line between love and hate, and we're pretty much skirting that line on the daily.
Jax and Erin's relationship was explosive. I loved getting glimpses into their teenage romance and what happened to tear them apart. I did a happy dance when they finally pulled their heads outta their butts and realized they were better together!
You can be Jax the rock star on stage, but you will always be Jackson Hartley to me, the love of my life, and the man I get to spend the rest of my life with.

Let me start this review staking my claim on Jax. He's been mine since Finding Flynn, and I've been waiting for his book since forever. Alexandria has even said that he's mine all mine, so neener neener. Just kidding....sort of.
But for real, Fighting for Jax was EVERYTHING I had hoped it would be. I wasn't a huge fan of Erin Morris, who we've met a few times in the previous books in the series. She was so not the girl for my guy. But in this story, we get to learn her back story and we find out why she is who she is. What made such an unlikeable character (in my opinion) and why she seemed to close herself off from Jax and others. I can honestly say, Alexandria definitely made me not hate her so much, but it still killed me to watch how her presence affected Jax. But then again, he was pretty much the biggest douche to her, and that made me not like him at times.
Jackson 'Jax' Hartley is, to me, the best bad boy rocker there is. He's got that attitude that says he doesn't care, but I always knew deep down that he did. His lack of control throughout this entire story is proof of that. Even though he treats some people like crap and he lets his demons consume him, I KNEW he could overcome all of that. He went through a lot in his story, and I am so impressed with Alexandria's ability to give it to us in the most perfect way.
Fighting for Jax is told in dual POV, my absolute favorite kind, and it was the only way this story could have been told. Hearing Erin's side of everything and then Jax's side makes the story complete. What she thought or what he thought, we knew the truth behind it all. And we're able to watch them both learn and grow. We're able to see that moment when everything changes for each of them. I love that.
I'm not all that into rocker series, but the Marlowe boys are my absolute favorite. I'm sad to see this main series end, but I've heard this might not be the last time we hear from them. I hope that's true!

This is Erin and Jax’s second chance romance.

Erin left behind Jax to pursue her education and career as a lawyer. Jax was heartbroken, he thought they would be together forever and that she would be by his side when his band made it big. When Erin left he was broken and hasn’t had a relationship since. He has started to spiral out of control with drugs, booze and women.
We jump ahead a few years, Erin has joined the tour to work with her half-brother Oliver and keep the band in line. When things go too far with Jax, Erin offers a solution that she hopes will help Jax. They end up on her grandparents ranch where Jax gets a dose of reality.
Being on the ranch gives them both the chance to get to know each other again and move forward with a relationship.
There are some secrets revealed that add a great element to the story. The secondary characters were great and I really enjoyed reading about their journey of coming back together. It wasn’t an easy journey but we do see a HEA with a great epilogue. I am looking forward to reading more from this series. 1-click and get started today.

Was so excited to read Jaxs story finally we get to see more about what went on in the relationship between Jax and Erin , in the first book a really disliked her but could fell that there was more to it then what went on and to leave Jax a shell of a person that did a complete one eighty from being in a committed relationship to a broken heart that sleeps with anything willing . After the band reaches stardom the hero overindulges in the bad boy rocker persona he does anything he wants . They have always felt the pull towards the other and when one is afraid of a shattered heart and the other is riddled with guilt they have to fight their fears if they want to get what they want and when somethings happens that gives them that moment to make peace and start to build a relationship lets just say fireworks . They get know each other again witch I really liked , loved everything about this can't wait to read whats to come by this author

Jax, Marlowes guitarist and resident party boy/play boy is going into a downward spiral just as the band is poised to skyrocket to stardom as it begins its summer on the Warped Tour along with their friends from the band Half Unread. What has pushed Jax down this dark road? Possibly the appearance of the one woman who holds his heart, Erin. Or could there be more to this emotional breakdown than just the loss of his heart. What Jax doesn't know is that Erin lost something too when she made that decision to leave him that day to pursue her dream of being a lawyer. As fate has brought these two back together, it is an emotional ride with the them as they try to find their way back home and to each other and to the dreams they once shared for their lives. Not only does Alexandria present us with a hot romance but she also challenges us with such topics as drug abuse and teen pregnancy. I look forward to more of these characters and hopefully the stories of some of the other characters introduced in this series.

The 4th book in the Marlowe series, but this could be read as a stand alone (though you would have more insight to the characters if you do read the other books). The Marlowe boys are on tour, and are mostly remaining grounded. Jax, still single is living to excess. It doesn't help that Erin - his first (only) love is on board too. Through flashbacks we learn about the life and dreams of the two main characters leading to them splitting after graduating high school. I enjoyed this book, well written, with a great story, dealing with addiction.

This is the fourth book in this series, and the first one which I have read. OMG, I will be 1–clicking the others ASAP! This is Jax and Erin’s story which is heartbreaking, sweet, humorous, heart-warming, and an emotional rollercoaster of a journey. Will these two be able to overcome guilt and issues in order to be together? No spoilers, you really need to read this for yourself!
This author has done a phenomenal job in writing this storyline, which had me hooked and enthralled throughout. I recommend this authors work for all readers. Amazing!!

I received a free arc of this book. After waiting for Jax to come out I was not disappointed!! What a wonderful story for Erin and Jax. I loved how the two got a second chance at love that neither thought was possible. Can't wait to read what Alexandria Bishop writes next!

I received and Arc in exchange of an honest opinion, so here it is I freaking loved it!!! It's not enough I need more much more!
This is the fourth story of this series of course you can read it as a standalone but I suggest you to read the first three book cause they are as good as this one!
Anyway this is a story about second chances Erin and Jax were high school sweetheart, but Erin leave Jax to go to college and follow her dream to become and lawyer meanwhile Jax become a rockstar... but what happened when this two start working together?!?

I sped through this book. I needed to know what happened and who did Jax choose. Did he choose his lifestyle or did he choose the girl who has always had his heart?
Erin and Jackson, high school sweethearts, that need to live life. Erin only wants to grow and follow her dreams. Jackson wants her to put off her dreams until his become reality then she can pursue hers. That doesn't fly with this stubborn independent woman.
They have a huge gap to fill before they can move on. It isn't easy. It isn't pretty. They really have to work and fight to get to a point where there is an understanding.

Fighting for Jax, the 4th book in the Marlowe series by Alexandria Bishop was my first book in this series and by this author. So I am not sure if it is her usual writing style or not.
Therefore I am very carefully stating that this book did not feel like a Rockstar romance to me. And I have to say that I can not associate any warm and nice feelings with the plot and the leading characters.
Again – I have to say that I did not read the previous books. So it might have been that there were references that would have made Erins’ and Jax’s story easier to digest – but as it is I truly did not like both of them very much.
On one side there is Erin- and as much as I understand her decision that separated her from Jax in the past – as little I understand the way she did it. If Jax had really been THE one person she has always loved I have to say SORRY but her reasoning was just not good enough – there had to have been a different solution.
And then there is Jax – the Bad Boy ? hmmm is he ? I am not sure he is more broken than Bad if you ask me and I am not sure how that situation with him “cleaning up his act” was supposed to work out. Especially given the fact that Erin was the one being “responsible” (yep those quote marks are on purpose because I am not behind that statement) for his state of mind.
In total this whole plot felt to me like it was stitched together wrongly – but I could not tell you the right way if my life depended on it. Something is just off
So I am super sorry but this book was not for me …

May 23, 2017I haven’t read any of the previous books in this series, nor have I read any books by this author before, but I really enjoyed Fighting for Jax and I will most likely go back and read the previous books! I didn’t feel like I was missing out on much, even though Fighting for Jax IS a part of a series!
Jax is going through a downward spiral just as the band that he is in is really starting to make it big by beginning their summer traveling with the Warped Tour. I felt the story was very well written and it made me want to read more & know more about the rest of the band mates.

She saved the best for last! It's no surprise that there's a history between Jax and Erin. A history that gets mentioned vaguely throughout the books.. This is where we find out what really happened that faithful day they broke up and both lived were changed.
Jax has been the womanizer of the group, he's hiding all his issues with women and drugs. Some tough love has to happen or otherwise he's out. Erin has the solution. They have to fight, heal and work hard to make it happen. This is a second chance romance that involves times of jealousy and worry. Erin and Jax are remarkable characters and so much fun! Jax surprised me with how country he could be. I hate to say goodbye to this group but it's time.
