If Dwayne Carson comes for you, you’ll wish for death long before he will let you find it. No one can match him. He has more kills than any other Carson, including his father and uncles. He is your worst nightmare—but when an eighteen-year-old girl is abducted, Dwayne agrees to save her for a price. Charity has never been so afraid in her life. Being taken, threatened, beaten, nearly broken, she doesn’t believe anyone will come for her. But someone does. One man saves her from her captors, and she’ll never forget him. But now she’s back in her old world, expected to carry on as if nothing ever happened. The only person who makes her feel normal is Dwayne. He’s back in her life now, and she can’t stay away. She should be terrified of him, but he’s the only one that makes her feel safe, the only person in the world she trusts. But a crime lord always has enemies, and his life is a dangerous one. Is there room in it for Charity? Can these two people find a love that will last forever?
Sam Crescent is passionate about fiction. She loves a good erotic romance and so it only made sense for her to spread her wings and start writing. She began writing in 2009 and finally got that first acceptance in 2011 by Total-E-Bound. She loved creating new characters and delving into the worlds that she creates. When she’s not panicking about a story or arguing with a character, she can be found in her kitchen creating all kinds of havoc. Like her stories the creations in the kitchen can be just as dubious but sometimes things turn out great.
"Her Knightmare" is the story of Charity and Dwayne.
A good conclusion to this trilogy!
The book has our "Beast" hero rescuing the heroine from a tragic kidnapping. Instead of the normal storylines such smut books follow, in this he actually gives her time to recover. He becomes her shadowed protector, teaching the heroine self defense, giving her time to get over her fears and it is her who approaches him when she realizes the attraction is mutual. The hero is kind and caring even though there's a lot of murder and mayhem in the book, the heroine is brave and the sex scenes are well written with a bred epilogue.
This book is about the youngest Carson man and it takes place 15 years after Her Beast and Her Monster. Dwayne Carson is now 34 years old and all grown up, he’s earned himself the nickname Nightmare and he’s feared by many. He may be a cold blooded killer for his Uncle Beast and Caleb but he would never hurt an innocent woman or child. When Charity who has just turned 18 gets abducted her parents are desperate to find her and they go to Beast for help. Luckily Dwayne finds Charity in the basement of a seedy bar before she’s raped and sold to the highest bidder. He kills all the men who were holding her and takes her back to his place to clean her up and have a doctor check her out. Charity loves her parents but they don’t understand what she went through and they just want everything back to normal. The only time she feels safe is when she’s with Dwayne and he can’t seem to stop himself from spending time with her. Dwayne was a sweetheart and I loved him as much as Beast and Caleb.
Wow. The little shit grown into... Well, a nightmare. Lol. I read Her Beast and Her Monster (which btw you don't need to read before this one, but I so recommend you to do. Not only to see how Dwayne changed from then to now, but because those stories were great.), and though, I wanted Dwaynes book, I wasn't impressed then by him. But I got a feeling and I wanted to see what he could become. And the boy grown up into something. With a dark side, but still a great man. A perfect knightmare for Charity. And talking about her. I loved Charity for how accepting she was of Dwaynes dark side. It seemed she love him even more for it, because Charity knew she was safe in his arms. I liked to see Beast & Caleb. It was nice to see how they are doing after all these years. It was good ending for this family.
The end of the Carson series was a memorable one. Dewayne grew up and with sweet Charity he was able to find love like his uncles, Beast and Caleb. Loved the names Sam Crescent gave each heroine: Hope, Faith and Charity!
15 years after Beast and Monster Dwayne has finally made a name for himself.. he's a killer one of the top killers in his family no longer that fun loving guy.. now he's cold assholeish to people.. but he does still have a soft spot for cases like woman & kids.
He gets a request to find Chairty who was taken, he finds her and he hates the way his stomach hurts at what he sees, saving her and getting to know her.
Charity is thankful for Dwayne and for what he has done for her. From self defense classes, being a friend they grow closer.
But someone from Dwaynes past is coming to haunt him. With his new relationship can he keep his girl safe?

This book was a fantastic end to the series! I love how the author carried the dark theme and age gap into this story. These two characters have been through so much, and I think they really ended up saving each other. Their relationship was like that itch you just can’t scratch and you feel lost when it’s gone. This book has graced my ereader several times and I’m sure, in the future, it will grace it several more. This book is perfect for the beach or when you have a few hours to spare. Personally, I can’t wait to see what the author comes up with next.
Such a good story. I liked how protective Dwayne was to Charity after her saved her especially considering how he's made to be such a cold hard man. It was interesting to see how far he came from being a snot nosed kid in the first book to a valued (and maybe a little unstable) 'employee' for his uncles. I enjoyed Charity's side of the story it was told so well that I felt like I was the one that had experienced all that trauma.
It took me forever to finish this one. I just felt like NOTHING exciting happened in this book. The only thing we got were the day-to-day routines of the characters. I mean, there was a teeny-tiny spark of danger at the end (like two pages in total) but that was it. #forgettable
My favourite quote: “That was your first mistake, thinking I’m a better person. I’m not a good person, Charity. Never have been and never claimed to be. Don’t sit around waiting for me to fall for you. It’s not going to happen, ever.” She knew her eyes went wide in shock and her cheeks heated. “I’m not waiting for you, Dwayne. I have no idea what you’re talking about.” “You and I will never happen.” “Go fuck yourself.” The moment she said the words she hated them. His blatant rejection stung, and right now she just wanted to get to her car and head home. “You and I, we’re done. No more training. No more nothing.” “Fine with me.”
It was such a beautiful mafia love story about Dwayne, the Nightmare, who didn’t want love, family, children, and anything at all in this world, that is until he met her, and Charity, a beautiful broken 18-year-old girl. Dwayne was much older than her. I think he was 37. He was a killer. The people were terrified of him because usually if they get to see him at all, they knew they were going to die. None of this mattered to Charity. He was her saviour, and ever since he had rescued her, she only felt safe, warm, and cared her only when she was with him.
He did everything to push her away, but in the end none of it mattered. She was his beautiful angel. How could he stay away from her even if he tried?
Amazing, Wow! I can't believe this is the last time I'll be hearing about the Carson Men, I started reading this SERIES a while ago and was hooked on them. You made me fall in love with Beast than comes along Caleb, and finally their nephew Dwayne grew up to become "Nightmare", the amount of pain he went through as a child was unbelievable. His uncle's may not be affectionate with each other but you can tell they love him very much, but than he met the love of his life, and it was a wrap after that. Charity made him see he deserve love and happiness just like everyone else, they may have call him "Nightmare" but to her he's her "Dark knight". The love they have for each other is priceless, you did an amazing job with this SERIES. The thing I love about you Miss Sam Crescent is that you have me fall in love with your work, you've never disappoint me with each book I read. There's nothing else I can say accept, you have a Brilliant Mind and you did a phenomenal job with this SERIES, as always I'm giving it 5 stars, and it's a MOST READ.
Really enjoyed this book. Dwayne is all grown up and deep in the family business. His childhood was dark before he went to live with his uncle. He is given a job to do, something that he is very good at, something that may change his life. Charity has had a good life, but when something happens to change that, can the things of nightmares become her salvation? This is the 3rd book in the series and brings everyone together to tell Dwayne's story. Give this series a go and you won't be sorry.
An alpha male who loves his women with everything he has and hates the thought of being without her. Yes, certain parts did feel rushed but it didn't bother me too much, just an observation :)
Sooooo nice to read about how the heroine loving every part of Dwayne including his dark side.
Good to see Beast, Caleb, Faith and Hope also. Although, Caleb did annoy me in certain parts... hypocrite comes to mind!
Her Knightmare was a quick read. I love the Carson series but this story I really didn't love the romance between Dwayne and Charity first of all Dwayne is man who will protect who he loves but when he felt in love with Charity the love of his life. Dwayne needed reassurance from his brothers to tell him what to do about what he felt about Charity that really turn me off. All in all I love the Carson's series. Just did not like this story very much!
WOW you saved the best story for last. What away to end a series with Dwayne Carson. Loved not only how he helped Charity but allowed her to love him despite his profession.
However I did enjoy the first two much more than this one. It was so hard to keep reading this book for me. Although Dwayne was known from first two books there just wasn't enough to hold my attention.
I love Dwayne and Charity's story. How she accepts him for who he is and doesn't flinch at the horrors. The violence is just enough to keep you intrigued and wanting more.
Dwayne, also known as Nightmare, ends up falling for Charity, a girl he rescues from kidnappers and returns her to her loving parents, who had hired him to help find her. But she not the same anymore, and finds herself drawn to Dwayne for understanding and comfort while falling for him in the process especially when she realizes, the darkness from his childhood. As far as the age, not really an issue for either of them. She at least finished highschool before they were more intimate. And, waited for kids too.
But with names like... Charity, Faith and Hope, it only made sense that these women would end up falling in love with Killers named Nightmare, Monster and Beast!! LOL.
I guess, i should've read some of the reviews then i would've known this was really the 3rd book in a series. Her Beast (1st bk) and Her Monster (2nd bk). That would've made the 1st sentence, in the prologue, of this book, make sense. Oh well, now I know, what happens to the main characters from the other two books 15 years into the future and then add another 10 years in this book an epilogue!! Too funny.
So now I am off to read the two previous books to meet the older characters ... properly😉🤓
Quick read. I felt like you barely had any relationship building between the main characters. You see Dwayne and how he acts around his uncles Beast and Caleb. I didn't think that the main character, Claire, was very realistic. She showed no fear of Dwayne, which was just stupid. It was like she didn't understand how he hurts people. The way her parents just let her do whatever especially after she was kidnapped did not make sense to me. I read this book in a few hours. If you like Sam Crescent's books, you will probably like this one.
I honestly don’t even think I have the words to express just how much I loved this book. Dwayne is damaged but he does have an incredibly sweet streak. He is ruled by a deep need to protect women and children from abusive men. Charity is vulnerable but strong. She has the backbone to stick by her man even when she sees what he does. They are perfect for one another and this is an absolute perfect ending the the Carson family story.
I really enjoy Crescent, her writing style, characters and storylines. She makes reading her books fun, wanting me to come back for more. Her Knightmare was a great read. It incorporated romantic elements with suspense, steam, darkness and a great story. I knew a bit of background from previous books, although it's a standalone. To me this was a satisfying book that I definitely recommend, by a go-to author. Happy Reading!!!
Okay, WOW... Dwayne the little shit really grew up and grew on me lol... His uncles already had me but he actually did it for me... Great read loved the insta love and how charity found her savior and loved him no matter what... I also loved the fact that he was somewhat broken but still could love and find it for himself... I really liked this trilogy and how easy it was to love the Carson men🌹🤗
I've loved all of the books about the Carsen men. I hadn't thought much of Dwayne before reading this book. He'd seemed more like an arrogant jackass, but I liked the way he handled Charity. He'd grown up a lot since the first book, and I was rooting for him and Charity to have a happily-ever-after.
Oh my days this book was awesome, I absolutely loved it. I loved this addition to the series. The storyline had action, danger, intrigue, and romance with a healthy dose of emotion. Dwayne and Charity were anazing characters. They had so much chemistry between them and they were so well suited, his hard to her soft and a lot in between. Loved this story.
