Vampire Enforcement Agency #1

Compelled By The Vampire

Rate this book
How do you survive when you become the one thing you despise?
It’s vamps like Roric who make humans believe vampires have a right to live in human society. He doesn’t drink from humans, he’s never even taken a vein, and the idea of infecting a human is abhorrent to him. As leader of the Vampire Enforcement Agency, his job is to find and capture the vamps who betray humans’ recently-earned trust. Until one human woman tempts him to break all the rules.

When Roric intercepts a rogue vamp attack and finds Caroline dying, he can’t resist her blood or beauty, and in a moment of passion he does the unthinkable. But Caroline despises the monsters who killed her parents, and she’d rather die than be a vampire.

With vamp attacks at an all-time high and Caroline resisting Roric at every turn, his job, his family, even his life is at risk. Worse, Caroline's attacker wants her just as bad as Roric does, and he knows Roric’s secret. Roric will do anything to earn Caroline’s trust, but can he keep her safe long enough to convince her that life as a vampire isn’t a death sentence?

If you like sexy, thrilling paranormal romance/urban fantasy stories by authors like JR Ward, Bella Forrest, and IT Lucas, you’ll love Compelled by the Vampire.

This PNR/UF series is appropriate for ages 18+.

I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily reviewed it.

I have to admit I am not a big reader of vampire books, I do pick them up now and then, but they're not really my favorite paranormal creature. And the biggest reason I requested this one is because I really enjoyed this author's book before. I am glad I decided to give it a try as I really enjoyed this one. I like how the author gave some unique tweaks on the genre, but also stayed true to most expectations when it comes to vampires.

This book follows the story of Caroline. Caroline hates vampires ever since one killed her parents. When a vampire comes in the bar she works, she ends up leaving early from work. Not much later she ends up being turned into a vampire. And that's basically where this book is about, Caroline turning into the creature she despises and leaning how to deal with that and being a vampire.

I liked how this book gave a good feel for how difficult this change was for Caroline. We get a flashback and understand why she hates vampires as much and now she becomes one of them and that's hard for her. I did like she didn't give up and tried adjusting to her new life. Although she was a tad too stubborn at times. She didn't want to let go of the life she had, but I thought she should cut herself some slack and adjust to her new reality first. She also was a bit too harsh to Roric at times, although I did sort of understand that as she hates vampires and he is the one who changed her into one. But she could go from hot to cold and back sometimes.

Then there is Roric. I have to admit I didn't like him as much at first. He turns Caroline without asking her first because he can't resist her and that didn't sit well with me. After a while it does become clear he's a good guy, but it still bothered me a bit what he did. I do feel that how he gave in to temptation made him feel a bit more realistic as besides that he is a bit too perfect. I also thought it was a tad creepy how strongly he became to care about Caroline from the moment he met here. On the other hand I did like how much he cared and how mostly he was just a nice guy. He is there for Caroline and helps her along the way and there's some mutual attraction there as well. For Roric it's a bit easier to fall for her, except that Caroline has the power to destroy his career. Caroline has to get over the fact that he's a vampire first and has to realize that not all vampires are the monsters she thought they were.

There is some strong romantic undercurrents here. Roric and Caroline have to figure some things out before they really get close, but there's still a bunch of sexual tension in this book. Blood drinking is basically an erotic act and the book start by him turning her buy feeding her his blood, so you can see how that starts their relationship off on a hot note. And they both keep thinking about drinking from the other. I did like their romance, although I wouldn't have minded a bit more bonding and seeing them get closer and get to know each other, but I am hoping we'll get that over the course of the series. This book already has some steamy parts in this book, but I felt like that fit the tone of the book. There also is a romance between two of the side characters with some hot parts. Not sure yet what to think of them, but I am curious to see how that continues.

Besides Caroline's storyline there are some other plot lines as well. Roric and Caroline are the main characters, but we also get the point of views of some other side characters, which provided some interesting other point of views. We get a girl who is fascinated with vampires, which showed nicely how different people looked at vampires. Then we also have Roric's brother, a friend of Caroline's and the brother of that friend.

There's also a storyline surrounding more rogue vampires turning up and some hints of a bigger plot going on surrounding that. It mostly gets started here and I am curious to see how that continues in the rest of the series. I think there will be much more going on surrounding that than what we know so far. But I am also happy the focus was on Caroline in this book.

The world building was interesting. I liked how the author gave some tweaks on the standard vampires, but it also still very much felt like your typical vampire too. They drink blood and can't stand the sun, like in most books. Here vampires can drink from each other for example, which was a fun tweak. There's also something about vampire mates, but it doesn't get revealed here how that works completely. There are also some parts about tinted windows, blood clinics and the vampire agency, which makes the world come alive and are all things that make sense in a society where vampires live as well. The vampires are common knowledge in this world.

To summarize: this was a great start to this series. The story follows Caroline who hates vampires and then gets turned by one. I liked Caroline and how she was determined to make the best of the situation and it's also realistic how she struggles with the change. I did think she was a bit too stubborn at times and was a bit harsh on Roric, but it did make sense why she acted that way. I didn't like Roric at first as he changes Caroline without her consent, but he did seem like a good guy overall. And I did like how the fact he slipped up made him seem a bit less perfect. The romance starts off with some attraction on both sides and gradually changes into more. There are some steamy parts and I hope there will be some more bonding between these two later in the series. There are also some other point of views, which were interesting and gave us a better insight in some things. The world building was done well, with things like the vampire agency and blood clinics which made sense in a world were vampires are common knowledge. I also liked the author gave her vampires some unique tweaks as well, like the feeding on other vampires and mates. This book also starts a plot line surrounding rogue vampires and I am curious to see how that continues. All in all a great start to this new series and I am excited to see where it goes next.

Caroline has hated vampires regardless of propaganda as them being so wonderful ever since one killed her parents. When she convinces a woman at her job to leave a vampire persuing her, she feels like she potentially saved a life. On her way home from work she decides to visit her parent's graves at the cemetary, with no idea that she is being stalked. She ruined someone's night and he is dead set on getting revenge.

The world was really interesting, putting a new spin on vampires. It kind of reminded me of that futuristic vampire movie Daybreakers, where vampires are known and humans have to deal with it- but in a more positive way than in the movie. Vampires have always walked besides man, but man never knew. But now they openly coexist, with their own law enforcement agency and blood banks for donors- all very civilized...that is until a rogue tries to change everything. I liked how under the primary conflict of Caroline's attack we also have vampire civil unrest and the potential for more conflicts. Everything was woven together nicely, but with the romance (and sexy time) as a primary focus.

Compelled by the Vampire is told from three different narrators: Caroline, Roric and . Caroline despises all that is vampire yet at almost the beginning of the book she is turned into the very things she despises. I liked watching her character arc as she came to terms with her new life as well as her feelings towards what she had always thought of as her "enemy". I also enjoyed how independent she was and her ability to roll with the crazy that her life became. Roric was a very strict, structured person who for the first time in his life completely threw his rule book out. One night of doing things so different from his usual ended up changing his life forever, regardless of how resistant to it he was. And then we have Taven, the complete rule breaker, who has to choose if he sill step up or not.

This is very much not the end of this story, actually it has a cliff hanger ending where pretty much nothing gets resolved and more problems arise! You will have to pick up the next book in the series, Obsessed with the Vampire, to see what happens with the vampire agenda conflict as well as the romance between Caroline and Roric.

Im 3 starring this.....

It had some really interesting aspects born vs bitten Vampires (although i would have liked to have a bit more info on the history ect) the reader really just gets informed there are two kinds....

The maybe rebel group that's forming was and interesting twist that hopefully will be explored in books to come.

The multiple POV'S were brilliant!

I did find it lacking though, some of the characters were a little one dimensional, I liked the two brothers as i felt the chemistry between them more than any other characters..... Roric and Caroline i wasn't feeling.... Caroline went from hating all vampires to (cough cough*not*) in one night.... it all felt a bit rushed. And Caroline herself failed to impress me, i couldn't understand her logic vs her actions.... Still not a bad read, just not rushing out for next book either.

This is Compelled By The Vampire, book one of the Vampire Enforcement Agency series, written by Kellie McAllen. This is a much different kind of story than we normally see from Kelly. This is a paranormal book....yeah yeah, did the title give it away to you already? Lol. When Caroline is targeted and attacked by a rogue vampire she must accept the help of the agency. Roric is the head of the agency and takes Caroline’s safety and protection into his own hands. Okay, no more so I don’t give all of the sexy secrets away. I’m ready for book 2!!

Compelled by the Vampire a five-star read that you will be compelled to read. This is the first book in the Vampire Enforcement agency series and what a strong start to the series. This was super-hot and filled with drama, Roric is a man with principles and he will stand by them, he’s always been the strong one, the one who follows the rules. But one night in a graveyard and that’s all gone, one victim that he feels compelled to save, but will she be his down fall or his saviour? Caroline as a character was one I wared to from the first page, she also has principles but when she wakes up and her life is different will she be able to live with the changes? Or will they be too much for her? What a story, throw in some drama and some brilliant secondary characters each fighting their own battle and secrets being kept and relationships figured out and you have a strong story that I am sure will go from strength to strength in every book.

This was an exciting and somewhat dark book with an interesting society and even more interesting characters. I loved getting to know Caroline and look forward to getting to know her, Taven, Roric, and, hopefully, Caroline’s old friend in the next books. I’m also looking forward to finding out more about what’s going on with the other vampires. I definitely recommend picking this up if paranormal romance is something you enjoy.

An interesting and unusual story. A young woman, Caroline, is dying after being attacked by a rogue vampire. Roric saves her by turning her into a vampire. Most of this first book in the series is introducing the characters and their universe, providing a backstory for each of the main characters, and the process of Caroline becoming a vampire. The story is very well written so while there is no compelling drama or mystery to be solved, it still had me hooked right to the end of the book. The story is to be continued in the next two books.

Alright

Overall, this was an intriguing plot with great potential in the world building. Rouge vampires, new vampires and an agency meant to monitor them all. Great ideas! However, I bumbled through this, lost to disjointed pages and extreme reactions - not to mention confusion over when the actual main characters are! The blurb leads me to believe Caroline and Roric are the stars, and while the majority of the text appears from their third person POV, there are plenty of of other POV chapters from other characters with no clear delineation in the chapter head of WHO we are viewing now.

Pros:
- World building is fascinating.
- Some Character development.
- Meta Plot is intriguing.

Cons:
- Disjointed.
- Too many additional POV chapters from other characters.
- Gets confusing.
- After deep POV introspection, when the final decision is made my Caroline, we do NOT get to peer into her head as to why!

The story was lovely and I loved Roric. He was like a perfect knight in shinning armor . Staying with Caroline all the times she was scared, helping her deal with vampirism and make her comfortable during the transition.

But ...GOSH ! I hated Caroline. What a selfish woman, prejudice and open to multiple complains. I just couldn’t stand her whining and left reading the book 💔

I would have loved if she had more of an accepting character 🙄☹️

Yikes. The book doesn’t take itself seriously and I can’t either. Started this a hot minute ago and only read it to put myself to sleep at night. Got halfway through like that. Was looking through my Kindle library for something to read and came to the conclusion I probably should give this one up as a loss. This book is not for me.

I liked the book a lot. I will be buying the next book in this series. My only problem with the book was, everything felt rushed. The whole book takes places in less than a week time. I would like a little more depth in the next one.

This was all right. I liked it well enough. It was a fast and fun book in the sense that you don’t really have to think about anything. In fact, thinking is discouraged while reading this.
The characters are two-dimensional and flat in my opinion. Like, we have the sassy independent heroine with tragic back story. Then we have Prince Charming who is doing his best to save the heroine but he also has a big and dirty secret. Then the brother who is the bad boy and player who finally falls in love with another strong independent woman.
This was poorly disguised vampire diaries fan fiction. Caroline and Roric (Caroline and Alaric or Rick) and Alaric and Stephan were combined into one and Damien is Tavern.
I don’t like the lack of consent that is used throughout the story. Also, apparently vampire bites are really pleasurable for both parties involved, so it’s not really special that the main characters bite and change each other and fall obsessively in love/lust.
This was love and lust at first sight. Mostly lust since they keep talking about how hot the other is.
They all make very bad and dumb decisions. Caroline as a newly turned vampire thinks she is indescribable and GOES TO WORK WHICH IS FULL OF HUMANS and then is surprised and shocked and frightened that she tries to attack someone. There was no reason to go to work. Literally none. Roric said she could stay in his EPIC GIANT MANSION WITH UNLIMITED BLOOD BAG SUPPLY for like a week or two until she got better. A week or two!!!! That’s all she had to wait!!!! And she refused to wait. She went to work anyway and out everyone including herself in danger for no reason. She insists that she needs the money but ignores the fact that Roric was willing to help her transition and that he is rich and of high status in the vampire community. It wasn’t even pride that held her back—it literally never crossed her mind, even if she was just being selfish and using him.
Also I don’t understand how they have free blood donation clinics but nothing like this for regular people and regular human food. Humans are starving because they can’t afford food and yet vamps are allowed to get their food for free????? I’m don’t get it.

People were either good guys or bad guys. No gray area.

Lot of internalized misogyny. Passive and modest and shy women were mocked while the strong sassy women were strongly desired by EVERYONE.

Also Caroline is the most beautiful woman any man has ever seen and she has the tastiest blood that any vamp has ever tasted. I got tired of it.

People get turned left and right without consent and yet the charcsters protect the vamps who did this because it was “an accident”. Ugh. I got a lot of rape vibes from the biting and turning against consent but it was never really addressed. The first time Caroline gets bitten and turned against her will, I was truly triggered from this scene and had to take a break. Vampire biting is an addition to sex as well as a replacement for it in this novel, so when you’re turned against your will with the mix of pain and pleasure of the bite, your body reacting without your meaning to....it was gross. I hated it. And again it’s not really addressed as traumatizing or anything. Just kind of “oops oh well this is your life now” and it made me so sad grossed out.
Also some grossly written sex scenes, like when a dude kissing a woman’s breasts, he was compared to a suckling baby.....eewww!!!!!!! Wtf!!!!!!
Also everyone is super obsessed and possessive over who they turn or who turns them and it just seemed like a bunch of insecurity and toxic masculinity.
I’m not sure if I want to continue the series. There were twists and turns and there was lots of action, but it was also predictable and I felt like nothing of real consequence happened except now they have to find some bad guys and bring them to justice. I probably will not continue. I kind of didn’t want to finish but I did want to see the main couple work out their drama and get together. But even then that was a bit anticlimactic but also really sweet at the same time.
There was just too many rape triggers and misogynistic triggers that I truly cannot stand unless I’m Warned or prepared to read. I was not warned beforehand and had no idea about these triggers in the book. I wish someone had told me so at least I could have made a more informed decision or at least mentally prepare for the exposure, or skipped it.

Roric is one of the good vampires. He doesn't drink from humans, even from the legal blood banks where humans volunteer. He definitely doesn't want to infect a human, and his job is to track down those who attack humans. When he comes across a woman who has been infected by a vampire, he knows that he should probably just let her die. Then he takes one look at her and realizes that he can't let her die. She has already gone through half of the change as the rogue vampire already poisoned her with his venom, but now she must drink from him to complete the change.

Caroline doesn't ever want to be a vampire. Her parents were killed by vampires, and she would rather die than become one herself. Roric's blood completes the change, but she doesn't want to have to give up her life for something she never wanted. Roric needs for Caroline to trust him so that she doesn't hurt herself, or others.

After McAllen's mermaid series, I was definitely ready for whatever new PNR came from her. Boy, was I not disappointed. Sure, this one wasn't a reverse harem, but it was just as good.

This book mostly focused on the morality of being a vampire. In this world, vampires can drink from each other to satisfy their thirst for blood. There is also the blood bank, but this is where they will drink from volunteering humans. The "good" vampires only drink from each other or from the blood bank, and the "bad" ones attack humans. Keeping this dynamic in mind, Roric was going against everything he stood for by turning Caroline, but he just couldn't stand to see her die. This kicks off their whirlwind romance, but I won't say too much about how it started.

I sped through this book once I started it, and I absolutely fell in love with the side characters. Again, can't say too much without spoiling most of the book, but they are definitely worth paying attention to.

The setting of this is the normal urban fantasy series, but there is definitely a lot of description that goes into making this world feel alive. At no point did I just give up and only think of the vampires as vampires, but instead I was always able to see them as people first. The scenes had just enough description to feel real and not overburdening.

The character development was also intense. Caroline had to get over her fear of vampires, accept the fact that she was one, and control herself so that she wouldn't hurt anyone unintentionally. She is quite the stubborn character, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I felt her pain as she realizes that she can't go back to just doing what she used to do every day without scaring those around her. Humans know that vampires exist, but they don't know that they can exist in harmony with each other. All they know about is the attacks, which causes many who are poisoned to just allow themselves to die rather than changing fully.

I can't WAIT for the next installment of the series. I thought that I was going to be done with this crazy anticipation for McAllen's books, but a year later, here I am!

I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a new adult paranormal romance novel with vampires.

I received an advance copy of this book and this is my voluntary review.

I have to say, this book isn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be.

I started off by reading the prequel which, in my opinion, wasn’t the best - I gave it 2 stars. This book, however, is much better.

We have Caroline, a headstrong, stubborn girl who is attacked by a rogue vampire which leads to her being turned without her consent. With a rise in rogue attacks and nonconsensual turnings, Roric, the leader of the Vampire Enforcement Agency (VEA), has a lot cut out for him, especially when dealing with Caroline.

When I first started reading this, I got major Vampire Diaries vibes. The similarities between Elena’s family and Caroline’s are very similar. Caroline blames herself for the death of her parents because she chose to go to a party that night. Elena blamed herself because she chose to leave a party early. I ignored the similarities after TVD was actually brought up in the book. It wasn’t something I actually thought about after the first few paragraphs.

Something I disliked about the prequel is that it had a strong case of instalove, which I hate. This book, though, is a little tamer on that front. In this world, feeding on someone is a very intense, and somewhat erotic experience, so I understand the emotions and why they can fall in love so quickly, but as a personal preference, I like slowburns. This book isn’t the slowest of slowburns, but I like the way the relationship between Caroline and Roric develops.

The book includes multiple perspectives, which I didn’t mind. I think there were some that weren’t really necessary, like Piper’s. I feel like, during that chapter we didn’t learn anything new about her character and therefore was a little unnecessary. This will be a little difficult to explain without spoilers, but in the situation that she was in, Caroline would have come to the same conclusion based on the discussion that they had whilst in Piper’s apartment, therefore the extra chapter about how curious Piper is was a little unnecessary. I feel like, in a way, it’s written a little like a TV show or film, where the author is trying to show what everyone does instead of just following one or two characters, which would make more sense considering the two main characters are Caroline and Roric.

Regardless of my little complaints, I enjoyed the book. I can’t wait to read how the rogue situation turns out and how Caroline and Roric’s relationship develops.

From the start this book pulled me in. From the cover to the blurb it was a no brainer that I was reading it (even though I was in the process of reading another book I put that one down for this one) and let me tell you I was not disappointed in the slightest. You meet several people/vampires and you get a few point of views throughout the story which was decent. this is set in a modern day small, quiet Texas town. You meet our 2 main characters, Caroline who despises vampires and Roric who is a vampire and who helps change her and her mind regarding what they are. Roric is part of the VEA [vampire enforcement agency] along with his brother. They enforce the law with vampires and anyone who turns (or even feeds from) humans are arrested. This leads both of the brothers into trouble with the themselves and each other and the 2 women left holding the brothers fates in their hands. You get some action/adventure, some laughs throughout, and mixed emotions along with budding love and amazing chemistry. This book shows you prejudice (through different species) and how a person can be stuck in their ways yet realize that they may have had it wrong and that yes there can be bad vampires (and humans for that matter) but there can also be good ones too and you really have to open your eyes because the good ones could be right next to you. Overall I loved this story and I highly recommend it.

I received an arc of this book but chose to read and review of my own free will

Being the black sheep has been a thing for me when it comes to well-known and loved books. And this book wasn't an exception.

Here's the thing, I didn't like it. And to be more fair with my review, I'm going to write a list narrowing the things that I actually liked and the ones that I didn't. But spoiler alert! One of the two lists is bigger than the other and you probably already figured which list I'm talking about.

Starting with the positive points (because who can resist the happy vibes? Surely, not me!):
1. It's catchy: I actually was unable to stop reading the book and when I did (due to studying, because, well! architecture student here, we never really do get a break!) I kept wondering what would happen next.

2. The characters' personal stories tug at your heartstrings and convince you to keep reading.

Now for the points that made me give this book a two-star review:
1. There is contradiction with the character personality. For instance, Caroline despised and was terrified by vampires but her reactions towards them wasn't so intense, in my opinion. If she truly was terrified by them, a lot of actions would've happened otherwise.
2. Do you know what insta-love is? Well, I think the romance in this book is even faster than insta-love, no kidding. It happened so fast!
3. The POV's of the characters move so fast that you are unable to focus at a certain matter at hand.

Overall, I didn't like the book and I don't think I'm going to be reading the next book in the series.

What a Bloody Fantastic start to a new and exciting paranormal vampire series. But rest assured, this series is like nothing you’ve read before. It is a completely new and interesting take on the overly sensationalized vampire genre.

Kellie had created a world where vampires and humans coexist and live together in harmony. For good measures, the Vampire Enforcement Agency has been created to police and protect this coexistence. The rule is all vampires must survive by drinking the blood of other vampires or visiting sanctioned blood banks. Unfortunately, as we all know, there will always be rebels who don’t believe the rules apply to them. These rogue vampires don’t live by the Vampire Enforcement Agency’s code of safe blood supply.

When Caroline, the beautiful albeit down on her luck barmaid, gets attacked by one of these rogue vampires it is Roric, the Vampire Enforcement agent, who saves her. However, in order to save her, Roric must break the agency’s code by turning her into the one thing she despises the most.

The story that follows is nothing shy of completely original and mesmerizing. It is a solid five star read that will keep you not only enthralled but thirsting for more. I can’t wait to read the next book in this incredible series.

Compelled was an enjoyable read. The storyline is good and there are quite a few twists in the book. I loved that the book was written from multiple points of view not just from the views of the two main characters.
I wanted to like Caroline more. I was very sympathetic to her situation but I just didn’t connect with her. She has a tragic past and it’s created a deep seated hate and fear for vampires. Although she was very strong willed when it came to resisting a lot of things that had to do with vampires I didn’t find her to be a particular strong person.
I liked Roric a lot. He’s compassionate, hardworking and devoted. Roric believes in all that the Vampire Enforcement Agency stands for. He works hard to make the world a better, safer place for both vampires and humans to coexist in harmony. For a very long time Roric has been a individual that believed things are only black and white, no grey area. Meeting Caroline has him seeing things differently. She has simultaneously enriched his life and caused a great uproar in it. With the threat of all he’s worked for being unraveled and the safety of the ones he loves at risk everything hangs in a balance.
I look forward to reading the next book and finding out what the future holds in store for everyone.

Once again Kellie McAllen has shown her abilities and creativity as an author. This is a take on a Vampire story that I haven’t come across before, which is saying something in this flooded genre. Compelled was a clever word because that is exactly how you become once you start reading this book. The story has hate, regret, death, competitiveness, jealousy, mystery, suspense interlaced with a uncertainty, Attraction, impulse and passion. Oooo I so want to tell you more but I don’t like leaving spoilers. I can tell you this is a great start to a new series, it has enough heat to get your heart thumping, a storyline filled uncertainty and apprehension written with so much skill. Kellie MacAllen is Brilliant at realism. Her world building, emotions and characters make you feel like you can reach out and touch them with your mind, body and soul. The only one disappointment I would say I had, was that it finished to soon. The cliffhanger ending completely blind sides you, I certainly didn’t see that coming. So now I can’t wait for the next instalment. Would I recommend it ? Without doubt !!

Kellie McAllen has captured a new side of the vampire world in Compelled by the Vampire. Each character brings an interesting take in this storyline and I can’t wait to get to explore them further in the rest of the series.
Roric and Caroline, two characters that would have probably instantly clicked in an ordinary world, find themselves drawn together in this paranormal story that will keep you wanting more. Is it possible for a Vampire to find love at first sight, or smell? Or is it just lust? Can Roric maintain his place in the law abiding Vampire Enforcement Agency? Can Caroline, a young, brave woman that has faced so much adversity already, learn to embrace a world she has despised since the tragedy? Well you must read this book to find out!
Warning, this book will leave you excited and thirsting, LoL, for the next one.
The Vampire Enforcement Agency Series has me in a bloodlust for more and will have you too. Can’t wait for the next one to come out.
I received an ARC copy of this book from the author but am leaving this glowing review gladly and freely.

I’ve been eagerly anticipating this book coming out and let me tell you that it doesn’t disappoint, this is the story of Caroline and Roric. Caroline works in a bar and she’s hated vampires since a rogue vampire went for her but he killed her parents instead when they tried to get the rogue away from her, so she’s hated and feared them ever since. Roric works for the VEA agency he’s a vampire and one born from his vampire parents and not made like the rogues. This is just a small taste I’m going to give you guys but there is so much more to this story, I must say that this is a fantastic start to a new series and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book Obsessed with the Vampire. I really enjoyed this story and I read it in one sitting I just couldn’t put it down and you will be the same way with this book too. A 5 plus +++++ ⭐️ read and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

Agent Roric Asheron, leader of the Vampire Enforcement Agency, never breaks the rules. That is, until he finds the beautiful Caroline dying after a rogue vampire attack and saves her life by turning her into a vampire against her will. Bartender Caroline Weston thinks all vampires are monsters after her parents died 4 years ago saving her from a vampire. That is, until the handsome Roric becomes Caroline's knight in shining armour after she's attacked by a rogue vampire. Caroline is everything that Roric has ever wanted and he can't stop thinking about her, and he's not the only one. The rogue vampire who tried to turn Caroline wants her too and he's coming for her. Will Roric be able to keep Caroline safe?

Kellie McAllen delivers an exciting, suspenseful and steamy story that will suck you in. I can't wait to read Obsessed with the Vampire, Book 2 of the Vampire Enforcement Agency series
