Favorite Quote:

“I ordered pizza.” “I thought you said you were making dinner.” … “I am. I’m making it come to the door.”

My Review:

This atomically hot and lusty couple had amazing sexual endurance and supernatural stamina, I feel so clumsy and inadequate by comparison. For a middle-aged widower with a relatively sedate first marriage, Kane seemed to be making up for lost time as once he finally caved for his attraction to the feisty Stevie, they want at it like savages. They scorched the sheets with rapturous abandon every-single-time with their wild and passionate interplays that occasionally had me flinching. Rie Warren seems to have a proclivity for filthy pillow talk and copious amounts of body fluids since this lewd lipped pair habitually went off like geysers. In addition to their creatively lascivious exploits, there were clever naughty bits of humor, family drama, and a heart-enlarging and transformative romance. And as an added bonus, a new euphemism for spanking the monkey was gleaned when Stevie confessed to unwittingly witnessing Kane “shuck his corn.” ~ Smirk, I doubt I could ever have too many alternative expressions in my pockets for that…

Loved that the beautiful young woman who danced her way into Cade's arms, at the bar last night, turned out to be the new contractor on his house. Surprise! And poor Stevie really needs a break. Her sleazy ex-boyfriend treats her like a worthless slut and her father treats her like an irresponsible teenager instead of the competent woman that she is. And now Cade has a problem with their ages. He thinks she's too young for him, but Stevie is about to show him that is so not true! I usually have a big problem with this author's fascination with bodily fluids in her writing: " a river of saliva dripped down onto my....." The following quote somewhat redeemed her:

Stevie: "I ordered pizza."
Cade- " I thought you said you were making dinner."
Stevie: "I am. I'm making it come to the door."

Loved that. So funny!

Book #2 in her Mistaken Identities series and again a real page turner. Rie Warren really knows how to spin the heat and the emotions. Stevie has been fighting to prove herself for some time. She chose to be part of the family business, a construction company, exceed at a predominately male profession and she is damn good at it. Kane, who lost his wife and the mother of their only child a couple years ago, is struggling to be the perfect dad for his daughter, taking on the role of both mother and father. When Stevie's family business is contracted to remodel Kane's home, the sparks fly and both Kane and Stevie must prove to others and to themselves that they are "building" a perfect world for themselves and for their families.

Opposites attract. May/December. Silver Fox. This one is a perfect combination of my favorite romance tropes. It's packed full of crazy good chemistry, scorching heat, and so many hilarious situations. Kane is everything a silver fox should be. He's charismatic, sexy, determined to take care of those he cares about, and an absolute sweetheart with his daughter. Stevie is everything he doesn't think he should want, but exactly what he needs. I loved the fire between this pair, both in and out of the bedroom. We do get a bit of angst, but it's not over the top and adds that little bit of oomph to the read. All in all, the story is a fun and entertaining romance with a whole lot of sexy. Why Her is the second in a series but easily stands on its own.

Rie Warren is a master at mixing together fantastic humor and scorchingly hot romance absolutely seamlessly. Why Her is a non stop adventure of heat, hilarity, and swoon that I couldn’t put down for a second. From the first page to the last I was completely hooked on Kane and Stevie’s story. Between positively electric chemistry and quirky humor these two seemingly opposites were pure joy to read!
Stevie is tough, loud, and a total spitfire in comparison to Kane’s more reserved personality but together these two have some of the most explosive chemistry I’ve ever read. The attraction between them is instant despite their differences and everything between them isn’t enough to stop the pull these two have to each other. With hilarious banter, serious swoon, and hotter than hot heat Why Her is definitely at the top of my favorite reads.

(5 stars)

When Stevie went out with her best friend to a club, it was just to unwind and celebrate her break up. When she spots this hot silver fox across the way, her bestie pushes her into asking him to dance. With liquid courage, her bestie egging her on, she makes the trek over and asks him. One dance is all it took for her to feel the sparks, but one dance is all they get. Until the next day when Stevie shows up at a new clients house and Kane/silver fox opens the door. Now Stevie is going to be his contractor and upgrading the house that he built for his late wife... a bit awkward. Will the age difference be enough to keep the two from crossing the line?

I freaking LOVED this book! Everything about this was amazing, the build up and the sexy times were HOT! Just enough drama to keep us intrigued but not OTT. Side characters that kept us cracking up. This is a 5 star read for me. I'm really hoping that Carmen and Gabriel get a book!

Why Her? The better question is Why not her?
I just loved these characters! Kane is an older single dad and a widower and Stevie is working in a mans world and is being stalked by an ex-Boyfriend. They have their differences and a few hurdles to cross, but once they give in to the smoking, hot chemistry pulling them together the pages lit on fire!
This book has all the making of a sweet love story and reminded me how much I love Rie Warren and the books she writes.

I lucked up when the first book of the series titled Why Him, was posted in a FB group I frequent. Immediately fell in love with that book.
Why Him was my first read by Rie Warren. So captivated by her writing style, I immediately went through her library searching for my next book. Didn't take long, found Why Her, the second book in the series.
Just as with the first book, this book has the main ingredient I look for in all of the books I read. And that ingredient is a strong heroine. And the heroine Stevie, is just that. Strong, smart, decisive but also vulnerable.
And I can lodge absolutely no complaints on Kane, the hero in the story.

Some authors just have it. They have the ability to tell a story and make a reader feel as it these characters are real and going on with their everyday lives. The storyline just flows and the characters are truly engaging. I wanted to spend time with each of them. And there's the right mix of drama, humor and hot sex.
Out of these two books, think Why Him is my favorite. And that's because of how the children were written, fabulously.
Rie Warren is definitely an author I plan on sticking with. Now, off to read her next book.

I want to thank Rie Warren, author and Goodreads First Reads Giveaway for the eBook Kindle copy of Why Her? that I won in the Giveaway.

If you are looking for a humorous, sexy romance between a female contractor and an architect where she is younger and he is also called 'the Sexy Silver Fox' by her bestfriend, Why Her? is the book for you. Kane is a widower with a teenage daughter and finds Stevie Keller (not a guy) fun, sexy and gets him all interested in her. Stevie is full of fun, sassy and very good at her job as a contractor with a great crew working on Kane's remodel in this fun and very sexy happy ending romantic comedy.

I love Rie reads, the men are always uber alpha and the woman are strong and ballsy.
Older man/younger woman read. Stevie hits on Kane in a bar, I love the way she brazenly went up to him. He was surprised, flattered and interested. Great chemistry you could feel off the pages. She’s the contractor in charge of his remodelling and he doesn’t want to want her. He’s conflicted because of her age, she’s because he is a widower. Watch out for the fireworks.

*I received an ARC of this book free from the author.*

Stevie liked to let a little steam off every once in a while, but heels and sexy outfits weren’t her normal garb…nope, that’s steel-toed boots and a hard hat. She loved being a contractor and her father is trusting her on her own, problem is she doesn’t want to mess up, but that seems a little hard to do when she sees who answers the doorbell.

“Not my business one way or the other. But if you are hot for Mr. Bishop, I completely understand why. The man gives new meaning to bend me over and fuck me blind.”

Kane is a widower and has no intention of being out looking for someone, but when his assistant drags him out he goes. What he discovers there is Stevie, gorgeous, younger, and someone he definitely shouldn’t want, but for the first time since his wife passed away he definitely wants. He leaves that club alone, but the next morning when she shows up on his doorstep to remodel his house he’s torn between wanting her and thinking he shouldn’t.

“If I could get more of her on a daily basis, I’d demolish the damn house myself and hire her to rebuild it from scratch.”

Stevie does one hell of a remodel…even with the super sexy Kane watching. But holy hell does she get more than she bargains for when she goes to retrieve a tool she left at his house. Not sure I could have stayed quiet through that! But on a side note… Way to be super verbal Kane! That had to be one of my favorite scenes.

Why Her? is a nail-biting, have BOB on standby, can’t put it down kind of read. I think it was better than it’s predecessor Why Him? and that was a feat difficult to accomplish. It’s filled with so much sexual tension that if it could it would have set the pages on fire. There’s also the heartwarming side that includes a daughter who wants her father to move on and the realization that age doesn’t matter when it comes to the heart. The beginning, the middle, the end…all completely captivating. Absolutely loved it!

OMG I seriously LOVED Why Her? so very much from beginning to end. Rie Warren has become on of my favorite go to authors, as all of her stories are original, and very addictive, so I'll NEVER get enough of her. This story starts out with Stevie have some fun shaking off her last relationship with her bestie in a bar, when she spies a hottie, so said bestie basically dares her to ask the silver fox to dance, and she does. They have so many sparks, it's a wonder that the bar doesn't go up in flames, but when it gets too much, Stevie flees the scene. The next day, she shows up for her new job as the contractor, and she's working for Kane, the silver fox! And that starts a most entertaining, and sexy journey! I had so much fun reading this hilarious story kept me laughing so much. Not only is Stevie hysterical in her day to day operations, but her interactions with the serious Kane are something else. Plus the whole chemistry thing is super hot, so when those sparks finally do ignite, yeah, they light the sheets on fire, or you know, melt the paint off of the walls. Then if they aren't hilarious enough, there's this cast of secondaries that slay me with more hysterical moments, so yeah, my stomach hurts now. That's not to say there aren't some moments of angst, because they are peppered in, and no, I'm not revealing them, plus there are a few twists to allow for f-bombs to drop, so all in all, this story ticked all of my boxes for the perfect story! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Oh my word, this book reminded me why I love Rie Warren’s books so much! The whole time I was reading it I kept thinking how similar it is to the Carolina Bad Boys series, not in content, but in the spirit of the books. Rie Warren writes characters that are fun, sexy and just a hair looney and they suck you into their lives! In Why Her?, you have a young, sexy woman, fresh off a bad breakup who’s out with her over the top friend. She sees Not-So-Silver-Fox and crazy friend goads her into asking him to dance. One dance, sparks flying and young, sexy woman hightails it out of there. Next morning same woman hits her day job and realizes that WOW man from the night before is her new client. And that’s as much as I’m telling because I won’t even pretend that I could do justice to Ms. Warren’s book, you need to definitely read it yourself, you won’t be disappointed. Why Her?, has all the elements of a Rie Warren book...great characters, hot sex, hilarious situations and very sweet happily ever afters. Thanks for the advanced read Ms. Warren, loved it!

Ahhhhhh, Rie Warren has done it again!

I just love immersing myself into one of Ms. Warren's books, for a little while, they are the perfect escape from the real world. I love knowing I'm going to be entertained, I'm going to feel and I'm going to want to keep turning the page.

Why Her? is a lighter side of Ms. Warren. The story is at times sweet, at times emotional and at times a little dirty (it wouldn't be a Rie Warren novel if it wasn't).

Of all of Ms. Warren's novels I found Why Her? to be the most emotional. It was an utterly sweet story. Why Her?explores the relationship between an older widower and a younger woman.

Unlike other, similar stories, where this kind of relationship could be construed as highly taboo Ms. Warren handles it in way that doesn't make us uncomfortable but makes us root for the couple; makes us yearn for their happily ever after despite all of their differences.

Why Her? tore at my heart strings. It's a beautiful and achingly sweet story of second chances and true love. The story is true perfection from start to finish.

✯✯5 Silver Fox Stars!!!✯✯

This is the second book in the Mistaken Identities by Rie Warren. And, I liked it better then the first book.

Stevie finally breaks up with the latest loser. Her best friend drags her out for a night of fun. Stevie’s use to wearing her wolverine steel toe boots, her hard hat and tool belt. But, she does love her high heels.

While at the bar her eyes lock onto the hottest, sexiest silver fox she’s ever seen. With her friend pushing her Stevie goes and asks him to dance. He definitely didn’t seem all for it at first. But, once they got on the dance floor the chemistry and flames went thru the roof.

Stevie is a contractor working for her father. It’s a family business. Her father is always giving Stevie a hard time. This job is the first one that Stevie’s in charge of. The house was beautiful but she knows what changes can be made to make it even more beautiful. But, when the owner answers the door everything changes when she sees the owner..... Mr Silver Fox!!

Kane lost his wife in an accident. Now, it’s just him and his daughter. When his coworker talks him into dancing with the beautiful young women he could spit fire. He’s not looking for love. He couldn’t get away from her fast enough. Until he opened his door the next day and his contractor Stevie’s standing there... Imagine his face when he sees its her.

Kane and Stevie try to keep things strictly professional for as long as possible. It’s hard for them both bc they’re both feeling the pull to each other. They get along great. Kane continues insisting she’s too young for him and Stevie continues proving age doesn’t matter. Man, these two are smoking hot!!!

Stevie was out dancing with her BFF after a bad breakup when she spots a hottie across the bar. She isn’t in the place to pick up guys right now, but Carmen (said BFF) convinces her to talk to him. Sparks fly, but Stevie runs away before it can go anywhere. She doesn’t expect to see him ever again, but the next morning when she knocks on the door of her next remodeling client, her hottie opens the door.

Kane is still recovering from the death of his wife two years ago. When he is out with some friends, he doesn’t expect to meet anyone. But he is taken off guard when Stevie comes into the picture, and even more so when it turns out she is the contractor he hired for his remodel. Will they be able to resist each other in close quarters?

I would give this book 4 stars. It was a cute story that somehow managed to be steamy at the same time. I liked the chemistry between the characters, and I thought Kane’s daughter Cecelia was a fun addition to the mix as well. I was asked by the author for an honest review.

If you like age-gap romances, then you have to read the Mistaken Identities Series by Rie Warren. Why HER? is the second in the series, but each story is a standalone novel. The story of these two opposites kept me coming back for more and turning the page wanting to know what was going to happen.

I loved reading Why HER? so much that I already got Why HIM? so that I can read that book as well. Kane is a widower not really interested in moving on, until a sexy dance with a stranger at the club. The surprise was when Stevie showed up at his home as his home renovations contractor. Stevie is just trying to prove to her father that she knows what she is doing and not messing up. These two are not looking for romance, but they find that and more.

These two were so entertaining with their witty banter and how much they were burning up the sheets. It was emotional, funny, and steamy and I highly recommend reading Why HER? by Rie Warren!

Stevie decides to enjoy a night out on the town with her best friend before taking on her first big project as a contractor for her father's construction business. She spots a tall, dark, and handsome man a cross the room and decides to lay on the charm. He might be a few years her elder, but that won't stop Stevie from having a little fun.

Much to Stevie's surprise, the handsome stranger is none other than Kane, the owner of the house that Stevie is in charge of remodeling. Throughout the construction phase Stevie and Kane continuously butt heads about the designs and neither one is about to admit to the undeniable electric charge between the two of them.

Will Kane and Stevie finally give in to the strong urges they have for one another? Or will the ghosts of their pasts destroy their chance at any future that they could possibly have together?

(I received an ARC of Why Her? from Rie Warren in exchange for my honest review.)

Why Her? is the story of a young, head-strong woman's romance with a man that is several years older than her. The passion between them is undeniable to everyone around them, but they are both afraid that their age difference and pieces from their pasts will prevent them from having a fair chance at any type of romance. The tension between them leads to some interesting scenes! A job well done, Rie Warren!

I have to say that this book and me...it's an interesting relationship. This series by Rie Warren had two books that focus on relatively unlikely pairs - namely with large age differences. The first of the two about an older woman with a younger man - now the tables are turned.
I liked Stevie and Kane, and their dynamic, and all the side characters, and the story progression...it all works, no complaints there, but then i'm just slightly older than Stevie and I'm not at all attracted to men with baggage and ten years my senior so...that caused a disconnect for me, as silly as it sounds.
Compared to the other books and series that Rie writes, these are still highly erotic - to the point of making you wet just from reading the words - but are much more vanilla, with less detailed and lengthy sex scenes and violence and more storybuilding, especially for novellas, and that would usually be my preference but yeah, I liked the books, I didn't love them.

I really enjoyed Kady and Jude. The dynamic st the start, how the story progressed, the drama that they go through..... it was a fun ride. Single mom books are some of my favorites and the 3 kids in this book had my stomach hurting from laughter. Amazing kids. I loved the link that these two had. It wasn’t anything special, but I couldn’t help but be really engrossed in the sex scenes. They didn’t have me skimming to get through them. I have to say I really wish there had been an epilogue. While I really think it was a well rounded book with only a few things that I felt needed be expanded an epilogue would have made it perfect for me. I wanted to see their future. I know there’s another book to be released in the series so maybe we will be them in that one. Fingers crossed. 4 stars #2OCCJD

Great storyline! Older man, younger woman, but written in a way that’s hot!!! Widower, Kane, meets Stevie, in a bar, when she gets up the nerve to ask the sexy, slightly silver fox to dance. Instant chemistry flares and they both kinda panic and back off without getting a name. I love the fact that Stevie is a strong, independent, female contractor who shows up at the silver fox’s house the next morning to start his remodel project.
The cast of supporting characters adds the right amount of fun and drama to the story, leading from laughs to tears with the turn of a few pages. The emotional backstory was handled well considering how tricky teenage girls can be. And the best part of all of Rie’s books....the sex is off the charts hot!!! Thanks for the early read!

I have to start off by saying I'm not sure how fair my 4* review is because I am coming off a major book hangover and book boyfriend crush on Why Him and the sexy as hell Jude. So as much as I really liked Kane he just couldn't compare to Jude.

In saying all that I really liked this book and the combination of Stevie the younger girl who has a few issues but is strong and talented meeting the very lovely older Kane. Kane had a few issues of his own that needed working through and Stevie was just the girl to help him with that.
Rie Warren seem to know just how to write a story that for me has a great balance of steamy scenes, romance and emotional moments that tug at your heart strings. I am really enjoying this Mistaken Identities series.

Stevie is in a club and after a lot of alcohol she is dared to ask “the silver fox”, Kane to dance, and that is all they have is the one dance. The next day Kane is shocked when Stevie shows up at his house as the contractor who is going to update the house he built for his late wife. The chemistry between these two is explosive and they certainly light up the sheets. No spoilers though; this is a must read, you will not be disappointed! This is a beautifully written story, which is filled with drama, emotion, humour, and is a heart-warming, steamy, and powerful story. I was totally intrigued and captivated throughout, and cannot wait to read more of this talented authors’ work. I highly recommend this authors’ work for all readers.

Ok I have to status is one hot book and I'm not just talking about one hellova hot silver fox that is Kane or one sassy sexy Stevie. Rie has done it again given us a book that's so hot and sexy that your going to need a cold shower after your done reading because your not going to be able to put it down. And well for other reasons as well ;)

I hope that there's more from the mistaken identity series to come even though each are a standalone book in its own ways the same idea of mistaken identities are through out the whole book.

I can't wait to see what creatively sexy things are next to come from rie

loved this book, but most of all I loved Stevie, she was the type of women I loved to read in books. The strong, sassy, I don't need a man to take care of me, type. Although Kane Bishop was definitely no slouch in the male department.
Great story of second chances for Kane and his daughter to both find someone after their tragic loss. Even better story of Stevie proving herself in a male dominated world. I love how Stevie stands up for herself, how confident she is in her capabilities. It's refreshing actually.
The build up between these two was slow and burning but when they finally relinquished it was off the charts, combustible.
