What you see of God is only part of the story. From the time Blake Healy was a small child, he has seen angels, demons, and other spiritual things. He sees them with his naked eyes, as vividly and clearly as anything else. Everyplace he goes, every person he meets, every day that goes by, he sees in the spirit. After thirty years of seeing in the spirit, one thing has consistently been the most painful for him to see. It is not when he sees someone trapped in demonic oppression. It is not when he sees the gaping wounds of emotional trauma. It is when he sees the goodness of God go unclaimed by His people. In this book Healy takes readers on a journey of rediscovering the goodness of God. It fills the churches we visit every week. It moves across the sea from nation to nation. All we have to do is learn how to see it and receive it, and then we will watch every corner of the world be completely transformed by the power of His profound good.

I read Blake’s The Veil and loved it. I long to see in the spirit. So when I saw this book I knew I had to read it. I think I liked it even better than his first book.
In this book we get to see more of what Blake sees but also with the reminder that God is profoundly good and sees us in ways we can’t imagine. When we feel scared or broken God sees us perfectly.
This will spark a hunger in you for more of God, all that he has to offer. At least it did for me. I want everything God wants to give me, nothing less.
A copy of this book was given to me. All opinions are my own.
Profound Good by Blake K Healy follows on from his book The Veil. Once again he shows us how to tap into the spiritual gifts that God has for us. Angels and demons are all around us. The gift of seeing with spiritual eyes was one that scared Blake K Healy as a boy but one that he embraced as he got older. This book has many personal stories in it. The author encourages us to pursue the gifts that God has for us and to learn how to use them. When we see the world as God sees it, it is a revelation. We will see far more than we expected to, when we look with the eyes of God. Life is a spiritual battle. We need to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus because the enemy would like nothing better than to distract us and let fear rule our lives. We need to live by faith and not fear and to keep in step with God. God is not just for Sundays. Where we go, He goes if we would just keep our hearts, minds and souls beating in step with His. We need to show others that Jesus is working through us. There is a very moving account of when we pray for healing but it doesn’t happen. We all have questions, doubts and wobbles. Blake K Healy addresses these. It is comforting to know that we are not alone. The author gives us hope even though some questions will never be answered this side of eternity. Profound Good was a very personable read. It is perfect for individual study or for use in connect groups. This book has the power to enhance our walk with God if we learn from its lessons and keep tapped into the Source. I will leave you with this simple yet powerful sentence: “God does not need me – He wants me.” I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.
This book was just as captivating and eye opening as the authors previous book "The Veil". Highly recommend reading these books in order, one immediately following the other.
It's amazing to me how much there is in the spirit realm that we are unaware of. I hope to aspire to see in the spirit in the same manner in which Blake talks about in his books.
I loved Blake’s first book The Veil and this one doesn’t disappoint. It challenges rigid thinking, creates some paradigm shifts and provokes much theological thought and I just loved it. If you’re prophetic, interested in the prophetic, want to know God’s nature and love more, this book is very revealing. Primarily first hand testimony I found it a very interesting read and also a framework for the many spiritual things I see happen. It’s provoked me to hunger more after God himself and to stop settling with the level of gifting I already have. It’s one of those books I’m sad it finished. It left as many questions as it answered and that’s ok. More things to ponder.
It's so funny how someone so methodical & tied logically to the physical realm was still given the gift of sight into the spiritual realm!! There is hope for everyone!! 😂
I found this to be a thousand times better than The Veil, I learned so much!! It was so well-done. It was less about the spiritual realm being real, which I hope people know, and a little more explaining the heart of God - which is NEEDED in the church!! The analogies and metaphors he explained from the Holy Spirit were IT!!!! So thankful I consumed this.
P.S. A few stories etc were the same from The Veil. I do feel though, that they were better served here, within context, rather than a slew of random stories, previously.
Wow! So much to digest. Surely, will need to read this again. Having read all three of his books, there is a desire to want more. Hence, rereading for deeper revelation of the Presence of God would benefit me. In this book, you discover the purpose of why we have access to the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, why seeing in the spirit realm draws us closer to understanding what the Lord is doing, and reminding us of our authority we have over the works of the enemy. There are a few books that I feel would push us further in building a solid understanding of God’s plans for our lives and this one is one of them.
I enjoyed this, but it didn’t compare to Blake Healy’s other two books, in my opinion. Those were packed with revelation and I couldn’t stop listening…this one had some repetitive stories that I already heard from him, but still had some good nuggets nonetheless.
This book is so profound, so full of Grace and compassion, so awe inspiring. This impacted me, not just about seeing in the Spirit, but in God’s Goodness and Love for me.
This book really helped me understand the dark experiences I’ve had which ultimately led me to God. It changed my perspective in a way that feels less anxious and fearful due to reading about the good and bad that is happening in the spirit realm all around us all the time.
This book is amazing. The stories are well communicated but honest. My only quibble is I wish I he had used more scriptures throughout to root his points but a basic understanding of the overall Biblical story really roots what he is saying in the truth of who God is. Read this book and invite God to reveal Himself to you... not for a gift that’s for the benefit of others but so that you can be fully released in your identity as His son or daughter :)
O wow, this book! It made me realize how little we concentrate on the things that really matter and it also makes you want to focus more on the spiritual things. I recommend it!
Follow up book to The Veil. I loved The Veil. Since reading it I have yet to sit through a church service without crying. And I *think* I liked this book even more than The Veil. I finished in 2 days. I have his third book on my shelf and will be picking it up as soon as possible.
The hardest and most painful thing about seeing in the spirit is seeing how abundantly God pours our His goodness on His people and how much of the goodness falls to the ground, unclaimed because we do not know it is there or ignored because we do not believe it is meant for us.
Every victory is celebrated in the halls of heaven, no matter how big or how small. Why? Because every victory has reverberations that go so much further than we can see.
What’s wrong with the idea that the Father saw fit to send someone to love you every day that you are here on this earth?… personal angels exist because God wanted every person on this planet to have someone whose some purpose was to love him or her well.
The fastest way to grow spiritually is to be completely satisfied with what He has given us while remaining desperately hungry for the promises we have yet to see fulfilled.
God is everywhere. His hand touches everything. Nowhere and no one is outside His reach. He has a perfect plan for everyone and everything. He has hopes and dreams for us that are leaps and bounds beyond our wildest dreams.
The most painful thing I see is how abundantly God releases His goodness on His people and how frequently that profound good goes unnoticed or unclaimed.
The only way to heal hope deferred is by taking the risk of hoping again.
When I finished this book (in less than a day), I wept. I just sat and said, "God, I want to see your face." The byline of this book is the prophetic call for all of us--to SEE God through the lens of His LOVE. Sigh. I can't put it all into words.
Do you know the story of Adam and Eve? And how they hid in the garden after they ate the fruit? Do you remember what God did? He came to them. He called to them.
What is your theological understanding of what God does when you sin? Does He come to you? Does He call to you?
This book will set your preconceived ideas of an angry, distant, upset, rigid God and let you see Him through love--His love, His love for YOU.
Yeah, this is a book about seeing angels and demons. But again, like Healy's book, The Veil, it's really just about how much God loves us and is as close as our turned attention.
Reading Blake Healy’s second book was even more enjoyable than his first, and I think it’s PROFOUND how taking in his stories and experiences seeing in the spirit has impacted my understanding of who God is. And I didn’t realize it until I was reading from the Old Testament and noticed how I was hearing God’s voice in my mind as He spoke to people. Before, I had always wrestled with this God-of-judgement mindset, which was so hard to reconcile with the New Testament vision I had of Him. But finally the two have become one, and the depth of His love and goodness is so much more than I ever have and ever will understand here on earth. I expected this book to be a bunch of cool stories of seeing angels and demons, but what I got was a deeper understanding of a loving God who deeply desires relationship with me. And that alone makes this book 100% worth reading.
Loved how it all comes back to understanding God’s heart and his goodness. Found myself cynical at some parts but it usually quickly turned to awe at how I long to walk out life not just knowing but believing God’a character and who He says He is.
I wish there was more scripture but I did appreciate his honestly while writing the book and his own skepticism and questioning and how he walked that out with the Lord and it did challenge me to open my Bible & did into other theology books!
The writing is nothing special, mostly just stories, but his encounters are beautiful and I appreciated his thoughts to ponder after each section.
I’d read again & I’d recommend to those open to reading with discernment.
A really cool book about a specific spiritual gift, seeing in the Spirit. I had no idea what that was until reading this book. I loved what the author said at the end of the book, "Seeing in the spirit is not the most important thing for you to achieve in your lifetime; relationship with God is". God has given us spiritual gifts to connect us with Him and to invite us to Him. Lastly, through what the author has seen about angels and God, has helped me see the heart and beauty of God in a new way, like in our pain God isn't covering it up, He isn't hiding from it or hiding it, He stands in the very center of it and remains good! And only God can introduce us to His profound goodness!!
Five stars, two thumbs up.... you get the point ☺️
I devoured this book just as quickly as I had inhaled Blake Healy’s first book, The Veil. It truly blessed me to read his visions of the spiritual activity occurring around people every day. Most importantly, Blake’s book clearly deposited a hunger to gain more understanding of God’s extravagantly loving nature towards us. I paused many times throughout the book to pray and ask God for something new I had learned to be possible. Such a blessing of a book, a true treat that Blake has shared his gifts with us.
"The gifts of the Spirit are not mere tools, they are models and expressions of God's nature; pictures and signs of who He is and they work best when they function in alignment with the One who fashioned them. This goes well beyond good character and strong morals".....
"If you want to see miracles, if you want to see people healed, if you want to see angels, if you want to see the dead raise, if you want to see people come into His Kingdom by the thousands, if you want to see heaven on earth, then become a student of God's love."
Astounding and awe inspiring stories of what this man sees in the spirit realm with his incredible gift. I love that this isn't heavy handed in theology or Biblical referneces to try to prove a point, but rather, through a collection of stories and encounters, the reader naturally comes to see the character of God and the nature of angels and demons through the lens of God's goodness simply because it is so present in every retold encounter. Hugely encouraging, and freeing! I would recommend this book for everyone!
This was such a beautiful book. I found it so powerful and emotive. Having just read This Present Darkness, I was desperate for a book describing the spiritual realm in a non-sensationalised manner. This book captured one individual's experience and showcased his personal journey to seek new insights and grapple with big theological questions, such as healing. I was deeply moved by some of his testimonies.
This book was a good read, meaning I couldn't put it down. I also started seeing things in the spirit which was astounding. What I loved the most was the writers humility in the way he talked about his experiences. Everything he said was relatable and it made it easier to know that this gift is not out of reach.!
I really loved this book!! I loved that it had tons of new information and insight from what he’s learned through his journey. There were a few key parts that really changed my thinking and challenged my thoughts on spiritual gifts. Indestructible is still my fav of his but this is in close second. Must read!
This book contains powerful stories that impact my heart, and important perspective on seeing in the spirit, and what the point of it all is: to come closer to God; to understand more about God; to feel his love, compassion, and fury on behalf of humanity. Beauty springs off the page. Even on a second reading, I shed a few tears!
Taking a journey through the spiritual dimension through Blake's eyes is always a treat. I really love the way he pairs his gift to see in the Spirit with God's goodness. It is inspiring and deeply moving.
Blake Healy's "The Veil" is the one book, besides the Bible, that I read over and over. And this one is now the same. He communicates the spiritual in a way that is just so easy to understand. I would recommend this book to anyone wanting to grow in the Spirit.
Blake Healy has a unique gift for not only telling his story of his encounters with the heavenly realm on earth but of drawing us deeper into a relationship with our loving father God. I highly recommend this book and his first “The Veil”.
Blake not only has an amazing gift of seeing spiritual things, but his determination to converse with the Holy Spirit to learn about why things happen in the spirit realm is the bedrock of this transformational book.
