Spanish 1 Student Reader "Feliz cumpleaños" is the classic bully story with a twist. Esteban just can't get a break, even on his birthday. From the forgetful teacher in class to the bully that takes his lunch, he is at his wit's end. Although his day starts to brighten when a good friend and love interest wish him "happy birthday," he is still subject to Roberto's (the bully) attacks. When Cristina is thrown into the mix, well, it gets more complicated. Esteban has an uphill battle and must muster the courage to stand up for himself, on his birthday!

The book Feliz Cumpleaños: El partido is a perfect addition to our FVR library! This author is awesome...just ask my students (we own almost all the books by A.C. Quintero!). I teach beginning level Spanish to high school kids, and although the content in this book may be written more for a middle school audience, my students will still 100% devour it! I highly recommend every single book by this author (there's a variety for all levels of learners). My students can't seem to get enough of these books (100% school appropriate with super engaging content relevant to the lives of today's teens)! Thank you SO MUCH for writing beginner Spanish novels for teens! You have definitely made a huge difference in so many lives! Keep being awesome! We are wondering if another novice Spanish novel will be written soon? If so, we will be 1st in line! Thank you, again! :-)
