In Take the Stage , Jojo and BowBow join a block party celebration including face painting, dancing, and corn dogs, oh my!
When her neighborhood decides to throw a block party, Nickelodeon star JoJo Siwa has the best idea ever : she’ll perform her hit song “Boomerang” as a highlight of the big summer bash. With her crew of friends behind her and the support of her trusty sidekick BowBow, JoJo’s sure their summer will be as sweet as it gets. Then she meets Grace—the new kid on the block with tons of talent to offer—and JoJo knows her plan for a rockin’ party is complete!
But Kyra, resident mean girl and head of the party-planning committee, has other ideas. JoJo doesn’t know why Kyra dislikes Grace, but it soon becomes clear that she’ll do anything to exclude JoJo’s new friend. When Kyra’s jealousy of Grace threatens to ruin the entire block party, JoJo knows it’s time to rally her and save the day. After all, being a Siwanator means—above all—being kind. And even bullies aren’t always what they seem . . .

Great story my daughter and I read together. Love how it teaches about friendship, forgiving and making new friends along the way. We can't wait to see what the next book brings.
I’m reading this along side my daughter who loves JoJo. I really liked this book for my daughters to read because it gives a good perspective on friendships. Sometimes girl friendships are hard and this showed jealousy that occurs often in friendship, but also the importance of talking and overcoming the issues that are happening between friends. I was hoping jojo and the other friends would have stepped in earlier to ask why one girl seemed to be rude/mean to the other but they didn’t. It took a few jealous encounters before it was resolved, but I guess that is more relatable in real life than if the girl drama was fixed right off the bat. But over all this was a great book and we can’t wait to read the others!
While I believe that JoJo Siwa actually wrote this book about as much as I believe she wrote her last hit single, I was surprised by the decent treatment of a real issue facing young people. My kids adored this book. And I'm a fan of anything that makes my kids feel that way about a book.
I couldn't finish and won't be reading rest of this Series. I get that this is to teach young girls that jealousy happens in friendships and it can become bitter but when those friends don't see the issue is what gets me. JoJo doesn't comprehend in this first book of her Series. It shown that all she cares about is gathering friends and making a big block party. Got it. Okay, she is famous. What I want to know is why this couldn't be accepted as an easy resolve instead of hanging on to every word? It is an okay book and I'm leaving at that. Recommended for younger audiences for sure.
In this book, a block party means than JoJo is performing while her friends are going to be helping out too, only as new friends of theirs artistic and shy Grace and loud outspoken bossy Kyra don't get along can they help them to see there's a way they can all be friends?
A short book highlighting how friendship can blossom out of a bad situation and with fun throughout the book at events it's perfect for kids or teens and JoJo fans too of course.
The story line is really good in this book. JoJo is really kind to her friends and helps out two girls overcome fear and anxiety of two different trials. In the end, all the girls are friends again. JoJo is really kind to everyone around her. The neighborhood comes together for a block party.
The most homoerotic children's novel I've ever read. Minus points for no actual gayness. Parents, if you want to softly introduce your child to the concept of lesbianism this book is a great place to start.
The good thing about this series is that it’s got a fan base reading and wearing big hair bows. I picked it up because the little girls in my Sunday School class love her.
Hello fellow readers! This book is one of the BEST books I’ve read this month! And it’s by JoJo Siwa! The main characters are JoJo and her cute doggy BowBow,of course, JoJo’s best friend Mily, JoJo’s second best friend Jacob, JoJo’s newest friend Grace, who is new in town, and another new girl (who is not so new anymore) named Kyra. It all started when JoJo hears about a block party! She tells Mily and they are both super excited! JoJo is going to do a song and Mily is going to teach the kids in the audience JoJos dance moves! Jacob is going to sell homemade snow cones because it’s summer. JoJo meets Grace when she is going over to Milys house, and they are friends immediately. Grace wants to do portraits but Kyra (she is the planner for the block party) is being super mean. She only lets her have a few hours at the end of the block party to do portraits. Will Kyra keep being mean or will she make friends with Grace? I hope you enjoy this book! And remember be a awesome book reader! 🍧🐕💃🏼☀️👩🏼
