Jim, a former Marine is about to lose his job. Not being content to spend his time playing games with his friends, he is at a loss of what to do. But then, just as he was about to give up, he was offered the opportunity of a lifetime.

A company on the cutting edge of virtual reality hires him to help test out a new game they’re developing – one that will push the limits of the digital world.

Now he’s about to discover just how immersive and dangerous VR can be. As the lines between his past and the game begin to blur, Jim must rely on his training and the help of a quirky AI to survive. But if he can’t figure out where the software ends and his world begins, what started out as a game might very well become the death of him.

A delicious read

I really enjoyed this book and the pacing of the writing kept a steady build up without to much spoilery overshadowing. I really hope to read the next in the series. The main thing i enjoyed was how much beyond the game the eventual outcome landed on.

Excellent

A superb first book. The characters and motivations are believable, the plot solid, and the premise thought provoking without giving so much detail as to spoil surprises.
Totally worth the read.

Engaging!

I really enjoyed reading this tale of Jim and his friends. Jim's issues are well written. His background in the military comes in handy when things start to go south after signing up to help develop a VR game. All in all a engaging read and i am looking forward to the next o ne!
