The Petrova Betrayal - a review by Rosemary Kenny
Having cut loose and gone as an independent operator from the CIA, Scott Stiletto's soon enmeshed in the 4th book in the Scott Stiletto Thriller series by the genius of Brian Drake - Everyman's John le Carre for the 21st century.
The premise for The Petrova Betrayal is that the head of Jordan Defence contractors, Kim Jordan, has called on Scott to regain control of plans her company's developed for a spy radar system, which can detect 'stealth' bombers and the data for which has been targeted by industrial spies of unknown origins.
The mission, which is complicated by Scott's involvement with Kim, takes Scott on a global quest and sees him opposed by foreign saboteurs, at least one of which Scott had believed dead and reconciled as an ally of former enemies, before auction of the data for nefarious purposes can take place must be Scott's top priority. Will he succeed? If so, what will be the price he may find too high to pay be?
A 5-star recommendation for Brian Drake's latest impressive offering, The Petrova Betrayal, is well deserved, making it a must for fans of spy-thrillers in the James Bond and Ethan Hunt style.
Grab the whole series for your bookshelves and tell all your friends to buy all four too - Brian Drake's books are a well-kept secret that everyone should know - more please!

Hey there, Military action aficionados,
Prepare to be catapulted into the heart of espionage and danger with Brian Drake's latest masterpiece in the Scott Stiletto saga, 'The Glinkov Extraction.' This fourth explosive entry in the series elevates the military thriller to new heights of intensity. Join Scott Stiletto on a harrowing journey that snakes through the shadowy corridors of Eastern Europe and across the scorching sands of the Middle East. In this nail-biting chapter, Stiletto grapples with a conspiracy that threatens to topple empires, all while battling inner turmoil and treacherous foes. Brian Drake masterfully weaves a tale that's not just about high-octane action; it's an introspective dive into the soul of a soldier teetering on the edge of moral precipices. It is so interesting how the author weaves this thrilling storyline with the character's fiber to give such a thrilling ride to the reader. Another "Perils of Pauline" type book. Huge amount of action that is completely unbelievable, unrealistic, and incomprehensible. The hero loses more fights than he wins and if it were not for his constant rescuers, he'd be history by now. Granted, there is more action in this book than in almost any war, but it's so far fetched that it makes no sense at all. Overall, a fast read, but not at all satisfying.

After going rogue in The Glinkov Extraction, Stiletto is now a mercenary, now hired by a private defence firm to track down a Russian woman, Zhanna Petrova, who's stolen a US military technology. While the plot isn't very complicated, the back to back action sequences keep you busy. That's what makes this series entertaining. Will get the next one soon.

The amount of times that Scott got bashed over the head without killing him suggest that they were using foam rubber pretend guns and then the amount of times the he tripped or slipped and lost his gun put the book from being a good read to one that relied on fantasy for the plot so a very poor read

A Definite "Men's Novel!"
Drake masterfully begins on a high level of violent action and doesn't slow down until the end! His main characters aren't as invulnerable to harm but they always get the job done although usually more than a bit best up! Every scene different and fresh with amazing entertaining my action!

Action packed adventure
This series is an excellent group of adventures with a super agent at the center. This was just as good as his previous three.. The best testimony I can give Mr. Drake is that the latest release in the Mitch Rapp series was auto delivered as I started this book and it say unopened until I finished The Petrova Betrayal. This book was that good.

The Petrova Betrayal
Brian is an interesting writer his characters come to life which I enjoy. The story line doesn’t jump around and allows the reader to maintain a steady flow. There is nothing that is beyond belief and totally unreasonable.

Bruised hero
Our hero finds himself in situations where he is unsuccessful, and injured. Fortunately, he is saved by a Greek amazon.

How much punishment can Scott Stiletto take???
It seems as though Scott Stiletto is an abuse magnet and that his body will never be completely healed, right???
