Rate this book

I always have issues with the way the author writes. I don't know what it is but the way she writes seems a bit jumbled. The stories seem to jump around the topics being said. They seem to lack an even flow which means you need to concentrate more. Overall though is it a reasonably good read. The story is a bit slow in the beginning chapters. She is a top billiardist who owns her own elegant parlor. He is a down-on-his luck gunslinger who takes on her challenge. He wins game after game and eventually the prize is her hand in marriage so he can have a mother for his niece. His six year old niece is. a comical character full of spit and fire. They become one big happy family, so to speak. HEA ending.

The first hundred pages or so we're very long and drawn out. The story didn't really pick up the pace until two thirds into the novel. However, the ending was final and left the reader with satisfaction of the entirety of the book, even though it was slowing going and the continuation of the book became questionable.
