GI Jane out-Mahdfels the Mahdfel - HUAH!

I've been a huge fan Abigail Myst's Warriors of Etlon series since book one, principally because I love the author's sly deadpan humor and tongue-in-cheek writing style. Zenik features the latter, but the former - the humor - is scarce, and very much missed. Zenik as a character is typically honor-bound, military-minded, mate-obsessed Mahdfel warrior. Jane, who has figured in two other books inn the series, is much more fully fleshed out. She's human, career military, and being nabbed in the genetic Mahdfel mating lottery is just one more change of duty stations for GI Jane. That it comes along with unrestricted sexual access to the hottest Madfel male on Noven 90 is a big bonus. That said alpha-male possessive, protective Mahdfel (Zenik) could "protect her by leaving her behind on his dangerous spy mission? HAH! Jane is way too badass to put up with that. I adored Jane, and the bit about the cat earning Mahdfel warrior status cracked me up. The book dovetails well with the other three in the series, cleans up a loose end or two, and introduces some changes to the Mahdfel on Noven 90. The series will go on, and on the whole it's a pretty good read.

An emotional journey of honor and redemption with a sweet warrior MMC and a smart and bold FMC!

As a career military woman, Jane is never a damsel in distress. She is intelligent, snarky, and capable. Zenik is immediately entranced by Jane, but he feels like he has lost his identity after a failed mission. He is determined to finish the mission that almost killed him and possible leaving his new wife as a widow but Jane understands duty and honer and she is determined to not let her new husband leave her behind.

Jane is not what Zenik expected; her boldness and his shyness made them a fun couple, and I enjoyed their adventure together. Zenik’s alpha possessiveness and need to protect his mate are balanced by Jane’s sharp wit and resilience. Their interactions are sweet, steamy, and full of playful chemistry.

This addition to the Elton Warriors saga has a deeper emotional element while still keeping the fun, heartfelt tone I love about the series.

What a great story I loved everything about it, sometimes I get so sweep away that I could almost believe it was real but it’s not which is a shame. Jane and Zenik story was so captivating I read it in one sitting and what’s not to love about two Warriors one from earth and the other from novien 90 coming together as husband and wife for the first time and this book keeps getting better and better, this is book 4 in the series and hope there is more to come because I cannot wait.

Tough and Smart

Jane is one tough and smart woman. She doesn't fight her mating and definitely show her mate the skills she learned in the Earth military in this action packed tale.
