Space Opera Fantasy Adventure

After fighting the Dark Magi for years, Amanda is finally on the trail for their cruel masters, the god-like Archons. But as victory is within her grasp, the fight takes an unexpected turn.
Void Dragons attack Earth from the depths of outer space.

Amanda learns that a vast interstellar community of Magi and advanced humans already live throughout the galaxy, keeping their presence hidden from earth.

Unknown to the galactic community of humans, the Archons leave Earth to travel to the stars. Forming an alliance with the Void dragons and their dread masters, the Archons are now poised to rain destruction on the entire galaxy.

With the threat to humanity throughout the stars growing, Amanda joins with a renowned dragon hunter and must leave the comfort of Earth behind to continue the fight.
Now, she must rally support from the disbelieving masses of humanity, and track down the Archons before they bring darkness, terror and death to the galaxy.

My second read from author Andrew Dobell, an author that I'd wanted to read for some time now but never have gotten around to it. So many books, so little time. My loss, he's everything I anticipated him to be. The continuing narrative of Amanda, the main character in more than a dozen previous books (which I HAVE TO read). As good as the book is the thing I marvel at is how the author wrote in such a fashion that the reader feels like he already knows Amanda. Enough I don't do spoilers. This is a must-read book for the Magi fans of Andrew Dobell.

Star Magi is the first in Andrew Dobell’s new Sci-Fi/Fantasy Series (or book 8 in the Magi Saga Series if you have been along for the journey since the beginning like me being an ARC Reader.)

Either way, new reader or diehard fan, Star Magi is a very entertaining book that is typical of Andrew Dobell’s excellent writing. The story is detailed but fast paced enough to always maintain your interest and wanting to start the next chapter to see what happens next.

A great read and likely another great series……

Fascinating new Series

Amanda has taken to the stars, this is a great thing as the possibilities are endless and there is still so much more that we can find out about from Amanda's heritage. I'm also curious as to what other adventures that have opened up in other authors universes will bring as Amanda deserves to spread her wings.
For those new to this then i think it will still be a good read although better enjoyed with the magi series as the build up is a little better with the history.

Amanda in Space!

I haven't read any science fiction in a while, but I decided to read this one because I loved reading about Amanda's adventures in the Magi Saga books. But you don't have to have read them to enjoy this book. I really liked the idea of the spaceships that run on magic and the way the Magi can exist in Space without any special suits. The story line is one that can continue so I'm looking forward to reading more about Amanda's adventures in Space. I would love to see Amanda partner with a dragon also.

A little disconcerting with gaps in Amanda’s history especially that she was born 20 years or so ago and in the same breath it mentions her being involved in activities over 700 years ago. Has a daughter who is a vampire ???.

Read the Magi series first is what is really required, as it keeps you continually wondering WTF.
Supposed her first foray into space mentions her being on a planet/space 700 years ago.
Fights scenes are little too generic and simplistic but overall entertaining.

Middle of the road book.

I like the characters, not too fond of the premise of space dragons. But I’m willing to give the series a chance. May have to go back and read the original seven books. As far as the lesbian aspects of the book I think this is just the authors
Secret fantasies and is not necessary to tell a tale. But as I said I will give the next book a shot.

Better

I almost stopped with the first couple of books in the original magi series. Amanda just keep doing things that didn’t make since, like have a hurt friend and instead of calling help right a way she went looking for clues. However that kind of thing stop by the end of the first series. This new series shows much improvement and is definitely worth reading.

I really enjoyed the worldbuilding in this story. The characters, the setting, and the story were all really interesting and I loved the implications of what future stories could hold. It's very reminiscent of Chris Fox's Tech Mage Chronicles, in a good way. :-)

Magic in space

An interesting combination. There are some rough bits, however this is an interesting story and I will be continue reading further books in the series. The Magi Saga is being re-released, and I think it would have been good to start with that first.

Magi in space

...with dragons! There's a lot going on in this book and while the marketing says it can be read stand-alone I don't recommend it. Amanda's continuing story has many moving parts and this continuation is much better in context.

Amazing as always. Is a Magus. She’s dedicated to helping. Never thought I’d love space opera fantasy. What a surprise for me. Can’t get enough

If you read about Amanda in Magi and liked them then this will be right up your alley. Action and lots of magic battles.

Wonderful Time

Things are always interesting when Amanda is involved. I am definitely enjoying Mandy's new star magi outfit, and her new companions seem to work well for her.
