"Hey, Gina. Sorry I'm late.." The decidedly male voice trailed off as Ryan lowered the three boxes that had been obscuring his face. "You are not Gina." Ryan chuckled, immediately liking the man. "Nope. She's in the house." He wiped his sweaty hands on his jeans and walked over to offer it. "Ryan Daniels, Gina's brother." "Christian Dillion," the newcomer offered, gripping Ryan's hand. "I've seen you at the scout meetings." He realized he was staring when Ryan raised an amused brow. "Sorry." He released Ryan's hand and smiled. "Damn. I mean, the resemblance is seriously amazing." Ryan laughed and turned back to the pallets in the garage. "I'll take that as a compliment. Gina should be in the kitchen." "Thanks. Let me say hi and I'll be back to pitch in." Christian let himself into the house, careful to close the screen door without slamming it. As promised, Gina was in the kitchen, mixing what looked like a pitcher of pink lemonade on the counter by the sink. "Hey, girl." He leaned down to drop a friendly kiss on her cheek. "Please God, tell me your brother is gay."
I’ve liked most books I’ve read by Kian Rhodes, but this one just didn’t work as well for me. I liked Ryan, but Christian was just awful. I also felt like the relationship was so rushed.
sweet and sexy short read. i loved christian and ryan, totatly adorable couple. i can't wait for more in this series. kian rhodes is a fave of mine! would def recommend.
I'm sorry, I had to deduct one star out of complete frustration! I loved the read and the love story but the lack off communication between the MCs.... Aarrgghh, grow up!
Ok so I almost didn't pick this book up, it didn't really have a blurb, instead it was a scene out of the first chapter of the book and the name of book made me think that it was going to be about some guy perving on his stepson or something like that. I dinally picked it up just to support the author. This book was completely different then I thought it would be!
Ryan, who some would say is demisexual, who thinks he is straight meets Christian a gay man fighting for custody of his son. They fall for each other but there are some big bumps along the way mostly due to Christians misunderstanding situations and without talking them through some problems.
All in all another win by this author although I'd only rate it a 4.5 due to some editing errors (kinda like when your phone changes a word when u are typing).
Rating: 3 stars The premise was promising but the execution was off. The biggest problem with the book was there were multiple Big Misunderstandings that could have been solved if the MCs just talked to each other. That is my least favorite trope. So, the book was okay but was let down by the fact that one MC in particular just couldn’t for the life of him talk to the other one and resolve the misunderstanding before going through unnecessary angst.
So I like this book in the OMG y'all need to act grown and have a conversation kind of way.. it was a quick read and it had kids and drama and everything you want in a book, so yea all in all not bad!!
Cute little read about misunderstandings, sweet moments, grabby handed mothers, and a lot of candy. What relationship doesn't have a rocky start? Well this one has many, and it's a tearful, sweet ride.
A really cute Demi awakening book with Ryan falling for cute single dad Christian who is struggling to gain better access/custody as his ex wife is homophobic
