Demothi

Rate this book
This is a clean Native American Historical Romance set in the mid-1700. Demothi is also the last book in my Sata Teichas Village Series. Demothi lost the love of his life and could not see a way to go on. Everywhere he went, and everything he saw in his village reminded him of Aiyana (Eternal Blossom). Demothi knew he could not stay there but was not sure what he was to do. Demothi was a runner for Fire Maker the Arapaho chief. When he made a run to Poet’s village, he had talked to the people and asked about coming there to live. They all voted for him to come. So, he packs all his belongings and moves to Poet’s village. Demothi says he will never love another, but as he goes on a vision quest, the Great Spirit sends him a message that he will find love again. Demothi fights against this and is determined not to take another for a wife. Luyu is a strong Navajo woman that was taken captive by the Apache when she was very young. When she is about seventeen summers, she manages to escape from them and ends up in Poet’s village. However, she brings many secrets with her that no one knows, and she will never tell. Because the Apache is the ones to take Demothi’s love, he is blaming Luyu for this even though she was not even from the same village as the one that captured Aiyana. Can Demothi put this all behind him and walk the Red Path (the path one walks to be with the Great Spirit), or will he continue to fight against it? When Luyu’s secrets come out, will that destroy any hope she has at finding happiness and will she be forced from the village as she believes she will be? We all have a path to God (or whatever name you call him) we must follow. It does not matter where we are from; there is something God has for us to do. In this story, Demothi learns a valuable lesson on acceptance that is something we all need to learn. No matter the color of our skin, the place we were born, or the way we worship our God, it is not up to us to judge others. We all need to learn to live together and go down our own ‘Red Path’ that will lead us to God.
