Separated from his tribe and alone in Dinosaurland, Victor Shelby must make his way through endless miles of deadly prehistoric wilderness so that he can return to his beautiful alien women.
But on his way, he makes a discovery that will develop the technology of the tribe ten fold.
Now he just has to live long enough to bring it back.
Continuing Solid, Well Paced Progression This series continues to deliver. Some interesting new dinosaurs, including some big fights. Some fun new aliens with different powers and physical characteristics. Some new resources and technological advancements, to continue the development of the outpost/fort/community.
Dives right into the action, with Victor having to find his way back to the group after barely surviving a fight with a flying hostile at the of the last book. Sets a good scene for finding and befriending a few new teammates, Gee and Tannin are good foils for each other which helps establish them more quickly.
The scene with the archer trying to shoot one of Victor's dinosaurs was awesome.
The developing relationship with Liahpa was fun, and her new frisbee-turned-axe is cool.
Briefly diverges a few times into adult situations, more explicit then ever before in this series.
Overall, did great for a long running series. Delivered more of what makes the series a fun read.
The adventures of Victor and all his female loves continue. This one spends most of the book with him traveling back to his friends after surviving the air duel to the death. We meet two new females, of the which I enjoyed Gee. She is a new potential ally/threat to Victor. Will she betray him or won’t she? Plus her power is just cool. The dino battles are fun as always and we received more tease about the mysterious female leader of the hostile Burners tribe. Perhaps we will finally meet the arch villain in the next book, just don’t let it turn out to be Gee because that would be lazy writing.
Very well written. Great story with lots of action and clear descriptive points. I especially love the hooks that he leaves at the end if the book. I could not put it down and it leaves me needing to know what happens next.
So I’ve been looking for this boom now for about 6 months and I can’t download it or buy it anywhere I go none of the websites help and I’ve been eagerly waiting to find out what happens next so I could use a hookup for the book if anyone has it
It's not Shakespeare but god damn if it isn't so easy to read and a bit of fun.
Sometimes you need that easy, silly, uncomplicated book to enjoy which is what this series has done for me. It's about a guy riding dinosaurs, killing bad guys and, getting beautiful woman. It's my version of a trashy TV show you watch at the weekend while laying on the couch covered in remnants of your takeout meal.
I've really enjoyed the series so far but found this one the weakest so far due to the number of people as you forget who half of them are (needs an index of all the people in the camp) and it's almost a filler book until the next one.
Saying that I've already brought the next one and getting ready to lazy about and read it in my sweat pants.
In the marvel movies, the Captain America movies are considered to be the best made movies in the franchise. Part of the reason, I think, is that we got to see what made him a hero. He was everything a hero should be before the experiment, and the muscles simply allowed him to do his job better. It's important we get to see why the hero is the hero. Victor is the alpha male we all want to be with all the trimmings: a harem of crazy hot women, a chiseled bod, dominion over freaking dinosaurs, and badass fighting skills. This book demonstrated why we fall short of deserving all that and why he is such a good hero. All the awesome things he has in his life are because his primary focus is giving everything he has for the safety and betterment of everyone. I like reading about heroic character.
I check about every three days to see if there is a new book in this series, and I devour it as soon as it is out. Yes, it is light litRPG / gamelit, and it is also harem based, but I cannot get enough of it. The harem / sex scenes are not the focus, and what they add is perfect. The dynamics of the world and the overall plotline are what I really enjoy. I definitely recommend this series.
I have read the entire space quest, tamer and lions quest. I find this most refreshing.I have read most other fantasy books and yet wonder again what made will come up with next. Thanks for the entertainment
I finished book 5 of the Tamer series and after some pondering here are my thoughts about the book.
This book I would say is on par with book 4 or even slightly better. The majority of the book is the fact that Victor is separated from his tribe and we get to see how long he has come from being, well not great at surviving, to now being a pro at it. Along Victors travels back to his tribe, he encounters much deadlier predators, such as Spinosaurus’s, and actually more deadly and ruthless survivors. We are introduced to 5 new dinos that Victor tames along the way, along with two new female characters.
The two new characters Gee and Tanen, bring something new things to the table to the already long list of characters. However, at this point I’m more convinced that there aren’t any other main characters besides Victor due to how most of them play background roles. Getting back to the point though, Gee brings a new sense of danger with her abilities that are centered on fire, while Tanen brings a very new sense of disturbing danger that other survivors are capable of. Without going into too much detail, Tanen was tortured amongst other horrific things until Victor saved her.
Later in the book, we start to find out more that the tribe to the north of them made up of many survivors and that is ruled by a fierce woman that the other survivors fear is playing a much more significant role in the series. The antagonist is really being set up nicely, but for those of you who have no fear of spoilers my hunch is that this other leader might also be a Tamer like Victor. There are clues of this that are indicated whenever she is mentioned. Whether or not she is a human, I do not know, but if she is I wouldn’t doubt it is probably a character that we were briefly introduced before Victor was taken in the first book.
Either way the book was very fun to read and I would dare say better then the 4th.
Still shy of 5 stars for me though. It’s very disappointing to find out that our main four characters that we had at the beginning of series have little interaction anymore. It’s clear that this is Victors book and no one else’s.
Now that I have that all put out, if y’all wish to continue to read you may, but I just have a few things that I would like to put out there.
After reading now the first 5 books of this series, I’ll say that the first three are a bit cumbersome. Comparing them to the 4th and 5th books I feel as if the author wasn’t quite sure what direction he wanted to take. I remember reading a review of someone saying they were like survival notes, but I honestly just feel that wasn’t the case and that the author was just trying to find their footing. In my opinion, the lack of a main antagonist or an antagonist that hints at a main antagonist throughout the first 3 books clearly indicates that. Now all of sudden, we have a woman who lives far north who controls an army of men and maybe dinosaurs?
Needless to say, if you’ve made it this far good job. The books have improved, for now, and these last two were very enjoyable. I just hope the author keeps up this momentum and continues to explore this new antagonist.

More action and fun with Victor and the girls! I can't tell you what a relief it was to pick up Tamer 5 after reading a somewhat dour and depressing story. In this book Victor has to find his way back to his women after being carried a few thousand feet into the air and let drop! Not to worry, he was caught by a pteradonon which he named Bruce. Bruce couldn't carry him and fly but he could glide to the ground; so Victor survived again. So now he's on his way home and, Victor being who he is, there are new girls, bad guys and new dinos. It never ceases to amaze me that all the women, alien or not, are beautiful but the guys, with one exception, are as ugly as they come! MSE seems to be confirming that all males (with the exception of Victor) are a...holes!😂 Loved it! Just wish it was longer.
Victor - you lucky guy. Going from a wimp on earth to a guy who's all pumped up with a bunch of unbelievable women on a planet that could eat you up a any moment. I can't figure out how you have any energy to even get up in the morning. Bust your ass all day just trying to keep everyone and your dinosaurs alive to being a sex slave to all these women at night. I say slave because it doesn't seem like you have a say in the matter art all. Your mouth and mind may say no but your women say yes ! Well what ever , but I think you and your tribe along with your pets lives are about to become even more challenging now that someone that can open there own portal and knows who you are . Let's leave it at that await the next book ( Hurry up and write )!!

Michael-Scott Earle writes books featuring guilty pleasures of powerful protagonists, swashbuckling adventure and vivid conflicts. Tamer: King of Dinosaurs happens to be my favorite series where the main character is plucked from his mundane life and deposited in a world dominated by dinosaurs. As the hero discovers his powers, survives and prospers, he begins to accumulate an interesting harem of women with unique and distinct powers. A continuing highlight of the series is the visceral dinosaur-to-dinosaur combat.
This book is one of my favorites of the series and features a combat scene where one of the hero's many wives deals with a villain in a way that will have all protection paladin-bubble hating World of Warcraft players cheering.
I really hope you start publishing again even if your forced to move away from kindle I was happily chomping through all the books you wrote on KU for like the 5th time when suddenly my borrowed books list was empty one morning and your page was unavailable (i'm old enough to be honest here the logic of having more than one woman scares me stupid but the fantasy of it still captures the imagination so much) I cant wait to see the rest of how this story unfolds even if the home made army idea doesnt occur, although it seems like the IQ has bene forgotten to a large degree or its stopped progressing like it originally did, either way more is needed :)
The story is pretty interesting up to the point where the main character meets a new girl. Then time is wasted telling you about how things Peak things are smooth things are this and things are that and how the person looks in this bikini in that bikini he gets to be ridiculous everybody seems to be wearing their bvds. Everybody that is except the main character he of course is wearing his jeans and his shirt all the time. The main character a hormonal moron. He can't seem to make up his mind about any girl he needs. The most irritating thing is the main character actually gets in the way of the story. I'm actually listening to the story and I find it intriguing but every time the main character tries to talk I keep thinking moron moron moron
As usual I love the book. I enjoy the different characters that like to pop up randomly. But I think in between the books with all of the females that are being added to the tribe maybe a slight description of them and their powers somewhere where they are being freshly introduced into the ongoing book for the first time would be rather nice. Because quite frankly I had no idea who some of the newer characters were from the last book. But still a great read
I me this series cause it has game play abilities that are heighten pluse the Harlem feel where the one good guy. Give all the girls what the look for in the man they want but want ask for . I do like and hate how it showes that through out the galaxy's their are good men and that their are just real dicks that need to die and that it was a load that should have been swalloed
Victor and his posse of alien women and cool dinosaurs is back in the thick of trying to survive and thrive amidst the dangers of Dinosaur World. Between a new alien female who is really hot (no kidding she is on fire) and some evil aliens that are threatening they have some really interesting times ahead. Victor continues to master his control of the dinosaurs (his taming power) and continues to manage the group towards having a more secure and better way of life.
I think the sudden separation was a good change of pace. I kinda wished it would have then shown how the group managed without Victor. However it would have been first time in the series there was a perspective change and we are now in book 5, so can't be too mad about it. We got some good character moments and great dino moments. I hope we get more out of exciting characters instead of having more new characters.
This book brings the series forward with the author's usual rush into action. I loved the way that it shows how Victor can survive, and thrive, even all by himself. I also really think that the foreshadowing for the next book is really a great way to keep readers anticipating what will happen and make them beg for more.
More dinos, more beautiful women, and more enemies to kill.
Book 5 is as exciting as the rest of the series. Victor and tribe continue to develop their tech and strengthen their bonds. As the tribe grows larger they also grow closer. The newest members of his dino troop quickly prove their worth. I'm looking forward to the next volume.
Another amazing novel! With how the previous bookended, no spoilers, I was quite pleased to how this book picked right up and ran with it. The developments in revelations of this book have definitely laid the groundwork for future novels and I absolutely cannot wait for book number 6 to come out!
I love these stories so much. They’re just fun. I finally found the website to buy it. I was so excited and MSE did not let me down. I really want to spend the $5,500 on the kickstart for book six so we can hang out!!!! Love the idea. Thanks for putting up with amazon’s crap and making this happen despite them.
Pretty good book over all. I think the series is getting better as it goes along. But there were a couple on continuity errors in the story and i don't like those, it pulls me out and breaks immersion. In particular case, Victor and company devised the use for that soul ring AND decided to give the finished weapon to Leopa in I think 2 books straight.
This novel from MSE really advanced the story of Victor and Co. I look forward to really getting into the new characters and how they interact. This is by far my favorite world building series. Hey another masterwork.
That's what the Tamer series brings you! There is nothing quite like it on the market, it is incredible written, and the story unfolds in an exquisite way. The characters and there growth as well as the challenges they face keep you riveted! More Tamer please!
I love the way Michael-scott Earle writes it is fast pasted and full of edge of your seat drama. I like the way the characters are progressing and the way new personalitys are introduced. Top marks. Can't wait for the next instalment.
I start reading around 6pm and did not metoprolol 11pm. I like the new characters and look forward to even more.and the way his power is growing is wonderful. Thanks again for your work .
Another great book in the tamer series, MSE you’ve outdone yourself yet again with this well written, well paced action packed adventure and I can’t wait for book 6, 7, 8 or however many there are planned.
I am very happy with how this one turned out. I can't wait to read the next book. Now I have to wait for it and that is the only downside to this series. Definitely worth the money and the wait.
