God Child

Rate this book
Jennette finds a lost boy on the beach in Southern California. When she asks him who he is, he says that his name is 'God'. Security and social services can't find a mother or a father in the vicinity, and there are no reports of a missing child that match his description. Jennette offers to watch over the young boy for the weekend, and she is actually granted permission by the authorities to do so. The little boy takes the name, Alpha, because he says he likes it better than Omega. Strange occurrences begin to happen, almost immediately, starting with a gathering of whales and dolphins just off the coast of the Hotel Del Coronado...

With Covid-19 confinement and politics this was the perfect book to read to forget what is happening in the USA. I started to read the book because it took place in Coronodo Island, a place I love and it took me on a great journey. The characters and plot were great and I could not put it down. This is the first book I read by G. B. Brulte, but have started another already.

Fascinating, fabulous and spellbinding!!!

Jeanette, a bank teller meets a six year old boy who calls himself God on the beach of Coronado Island! While trying to trace his parents, she learns that he has no parents. She tries asking the security person for more information about the boy. The boy is told that he cannot be called God and tells them to call him Alpha! And he tells every one he meets - the security guy, the Social Services lady Rebecca, to name two - that he would like to be with Jeanette and go with her to her home! The events that follow are too bizarre, too inexplicable that the reader is left wondering whether it is all a dream or some kind of mystifying and perplexing reality!! One has to read the book to experience the mighty pull that this enthralling book exerts on the readers!!! It keeps the readers glued to the book even after the book has been read just to understand it better.

The storyline is smooth flowing and intriguing, the characters particularly God/Alpha, Jeanette, Daniel, Rebecca, Lilly, Nancy and the animals Clementine, Samson and other myriad ones are enchanting and electrifying.

After finishing this captivating book, I am still trying to figure out the mystery of it all! It is one of the best books I've read in the recent times and I thank the author for the most enjoyable reading experience!!!

Hard to characterize. But not hard to LOVE! This is one incredible book. The ingenuity it took to conjure up this story is simply unbelievable. As I read it I couldn't help but think that it is just going to be impossible for the author to tie this all together is a way that makes any of it believable. But I was wrong! What a wonderful story and a wonderful message - especially in today's troubled times. It all begins when Jennette finds a little lost boy on the beach in Southern California. When she asks him his name, he simply says that his name is "God." When she asks him if he is lost and needs some help, he simply replies: "Everyone needs help...everyone is lost." And it only gets better and even more mysterious. This is a book you do not want to miss. While it can be interpreted in many different ways since it causes you to really think about what it is trying to tell us, it allows you to use your own imagination and to draw your own conclusions. I still marvel how anyone could come up with such a magical and inspiring plot - and then lay it out in such a wonderful and entertaining way. This is one book I might well like to read again...and again...and again!

Read this over the weekend

I couldn't sleep Sunday morning around 2:00 am and decided reading would make me sleepy. It didn't. I read until the sun came up. Just finished, Monday morning, 5 am. I'll be sleepy at work this afternoon but so worth it. The pace was a decent clip, the storyline was enthralling, and the characters were engaging. It is a story of good news - the Ebola virus conquered: great in this time of COVID -19. Good book, with a good end.

Nice feel-good story about God coming to earth as a 6 year old boy. As expected animals love him and obey him, he does a lot of miraculous healing and he brings 2 people together who end up in a love relationship. Good book if you need a break from all the negativity in the world. The only kind of annoying thing is the simplicity of the writing. Seems to be written on an 8th grade level? But certainly an enjoyable fast read.

I don't, as a habit review books. Why? Because what works for me may not work for something else. What book you enjoy is subjective. For God Child, I am willing to make an exception. Every once in a while I will read a book that brings me to tears. This was one of those books. It was a work of fiction that I so desperately wish could be real. But you read it, you form your own opinions. For me, I loved this story.

Fantastic

This book was very hard to put down. As soon as I started it I was hooked. I read it through in one sitting. I laughed and I cried. This is definitely one, if not the best book I have read this year and believe me I read a lot of books. Try it and you will see why I so enjoyed it.

Great imagination. Story that keeps you wanting to continue reading to the end.

When Jennette finds the young boy who claims he is God, and gets permission to care for him, she and others witness so many unexplainable events and healings that seem to come from him. Can a six year old boy come as God?

Really loved this book. Such a meaningful and beautiful.story told with sensitivity and intelligence. Takes the idea of a little bit called God coming to earth and runs with it. Can wait to read more by this wonderful writer. Just one thing though. I dont think Alpha, would ever "gush".

What if God was one of us

Incredible read. Not my usual style or topic but I couldn't put it down. The wonderful twist in the story has you thinking even further than the prologue suggests. I don't want to give any of this wonderful story away. Read it, you will love it.

God child

Although the story was a little unreal, I enjoyed it. Perhaps things do happen out of the ordinary. This little boy who thought he was god could have only existed in the writers mind if he believed. After reading this perhaps I believe too.

Faith of a Child.

I absolutely LOVE this book. I loved it from page 1. I know there is going to be others out there, that say how could this book be for real. All I can say to that is what Jesus tells us, faith of a child....
I laughed, I cried, I cheered.
Tremendous read.

What a Dream!

I used to wonder if my life was so,dome’s dream - someone else’s or even my own dream. I know now that God is real, He is awesome, He is the world. His plans for us will someday be realized, but not until we’re home with Him. :)

This book brought tears to my eyes. Even though it’s a fiction I know God is working through people to bring about restoration, healing, and even relationships. I will be rereading this book again and again. God is at work in the world since He is in control all the time.

Strange

Not what I expected. Confusing at best....parts are interesting but in total not believable. Left me a bit flat. But you give it a try
