Boy meets girl.

Boy screws girl.

Girl gets knocked up.

That was my story with Brandon Jeffers, power hitter for the Washington Rampage and baseball's biggest bad boy. He came into my life like a line drive to the face, and he left without looking back.

It's okay though, because I'm determined to raise this baby on my own. I mean, women for centuries have navigated parenthood alone...why should I be any different?

But when the major league star shows up on my doorstep, making promises I know he can't keep, my defenses go up and my expectations stay low.

Brandon says he can cleanup his act...
I'll believe it when I see it.

The Cleanup is the second novel in the Washington Rampage sports romance series, but can be read as a complete standalone.

Heroine’s friend: “I think you’re making a mistake, Liv. Brandon has a right to know you’re having his kid. He has a right to decide if he wants to be a part of his or her life.”

Heroine: “’I disagree,’ I say, resolute in my decision. ‘Because I already know how he’ll react. You think he’s suddenly going to drop everything and want to play house with me and a baby? That’s not who he is.’”

Heroine’s friend: “Lexi shoots me a pointed look. ‘You spent all of twelve hours with him, and you think that makes you an expert on who he is?’”

The above is exactly why I didn’t like this heroine. That and the fact that she was a total enabler with her mother, giving her thousands of dollars that she knew would be spent on booze and drugs. She definitely didn’t come off as someone ready to be a responsible parent herself.

And then the hero is a manwhore. (Heroine’s own words. Her friends words were “he might go through women like tacos on Tuesday.”) We even meet his regular fuck buddy. Despite all that, I think he still might have been more likable than this very cold heroine. There were no romantic vibes between these two.

The Cleanup was easy to read,it could be read as a stand-alone but I suggest you to read Ian and Lexi's story too.
I liked to be back to Maple Lake and to see again the characters I've meet in the previous book in the Washington Rampage series.

Liv choices could be egotistical at times but I can understand her hesitancy with a youth like hers.Brandon has to show Liv she is the only woman in his life in order to make her forget about all her fears to be rejected and forgotten.
Could they make everything work out for their child?I don't have doubts that with their friends help they can find their way towards happiness.

I hope there is at least one more book in this series because the author piqued my curiousity with other characters' stories.

The Cleanup is the second book in Megan Green’s The Boys Of Baseball series. Brandon and Liv’s story can be read as a standalone. This surprise, you’re going to be a daddy baseball romance was definitely a novel that had promise and I did like this one, it just wasn’t a head over boots in love with this one read.

Let’s start with Brandon Jeffers… I liked getting to know this character, the more I learned the more I liked him. He’s the playboy of the team and that’s a fact he doesn’t regret. He works his ass off to be the top hitter on the team, and there is no denying he reaps the benefits that come with being one of the top players. I really enjoyed watching this man fall to his knees in love. I loved how he stepped up to the plate and became the man Liv and their baby needed.

What I didn’t like was all the miscommunication that came from Liv. I felt like none of her issues were sorted out. The issues with Liv’s mother were just pushed to the side with money. News flash, money can’t ease the anxiety that comes with abandonment issues. I also hated the fact that her best friend had to get involved and tell her boyfriend who then told Brandon everytime something came up with Liv and the baby….. There was a serious lack of communication, and to put it mildly, it annoyed the hell out of me. I wanted these two to show great strength. I wanted to feel their connection and see the chemistry swarming all around them. Sadly, I didn’t feel those vibes until the end of the novel.

And that is why I rated it a three star. I loved Brandon’s reformed manwhore situation and how he stepped up to the plate, but I disliked Liv and her inability to fully let Brandon in.

Overall, I liked certain aspects of The Cleanup but sadly this one was not a love for me. I, however, can’t wait to get my hands on Carter’s story! I feel like this man has something serious going on in his life and I can’t wait to dive into it!!

I loved this story. A surprise baby. Love before marriage. A hot baseball player. A sassy woman with a love of books. All of these things are found in The Cleanup by Megan Green. All of that combined with strong writing, an absolutely engaging plot, and both main and secondary characters that you can't help but love made it impossible for me to not fly through the pages of this story. And I enjoyed every moment of it.

I had a feeling after reading the first book in this series The Off-Season, where I was introduced to Liv and Brandon that I was going to really enjoy their story. But it surpassed expectations. I really related to Liv and I loved her relationship with Charlie. Brandon was this fun loving guy but was so loyal to those he cared about. They were a great couple to read about.

I have high hopes for what is next to come for this series and will be crossing my fingers that it will be here soon and hopefully be Carter's story.

Beautiful love story! I absolutely loved Brandon and liv while reading Ian and Lexis story and I’m so happy they got the love they deserved!

This story was written so beautifully and I loved how you learned about the characters as they learned about the other! You were front and center of their romance and their journey!

Liv and Brandon is a couple that should never work, the author throws them together, and then they have to deal with it. The author keeps you on your toes with Liv's standoffish attitude. I couldn't get behind Liv too much, I thought she was sort of a jerk, but I did love Brandon, and I did love that he had to jump through hoops to get his happily ever after. Told in dual pov.

I absolutely loved The Cleanup!!! Brandon and Liv’s story was heartbreaking and heartwarming all in one!!!

Liv was such a strong emotional character! Her life hasn’t been the greatest and then she meets Brandon and all bets are off!!

But, circumstances separate them....but then they are brought back together by happenstance and a little bean. Then the true fight for love begins.

Marie’s Review
The Clean Up by Megan Green is the second book in the Washington Rampage series. The story of a one night stand that ends in unexpected pregnancy is not a new one, but the way that Brandon and Liv handle it makes for a unique tale.

Liv has been on her own for most of her life. Taking care of things is how she handles it. Becoming pregnant is no different. She is determined to master this challenge too without any help.

Brandon is the clean up hitter for the Washington Rampage and has proved himself to be a player both on and off the field. After his one night stand with Liv, he finds himself thinking about her more and more. Finding out that their night together resulted in a baby has Brandon changing his ways.

While some aspects of this story were good, quite often I found myself more disappointed with how the story was progressing than not. Liv was selfish with Brandon, sweet with Charlie and a complete disappointment in her dealings with her Mom. 3 Stars #2OCCMS

Jessica’s Reviews

After reading the first book I was excited for Brandon and Liv to get their own book. Both characters have such unique personalities that I craved to see how they interacted. I wasn’t let down with that. I laughed, I cursed them, and in the end I was left so happy for them. They really had that spark that you see in great romance novels. The fact it was a surprise pregnancy just added to it. That’s not a spoiler because you learn that from the blurb.

Overall it was a good read. I liked seeing how their pasts shaped them into who they were and seeing them overcome obstacles that step in their path. With this book and even the first, once the drama is closed out, it doesn’t come back which is a huge plus that I enjoyed. It wasn’t the same issues coming back over and over again to draw out the book. I’m hoping that Carter gets his book next because the author really has me intrigued. 4 stars #2OCCJD

This is the first book I have read by Megan Green and I really don’t know why because I love sports romance and I will certainly be checking out book 1 in the Washington Rampage Series as well as other books by this author. This story is an emotional read it’s both heartbreaking and heartwarming and it made no difference that I hadn’t read book 1 so I can honestly say this can be read as a stand-alone. Liv is a strong independent woman who knew what she wanted and where she was going with her life but that all changed the night she had a one night stand with Brandon a professional baseball player who was also known as a player off the field. That night was about to change both their life’s but will Liv except that Brandon has changed his ways ............
Both Liv and Brandon had a troubled past and maybe that’s why the attraction and chemistry was off the charts and Liv and Brandon stole a piece of my heart. This author certainly hit a home run with this book I loved the characters and I loved the way this story unfolded because let’s be honest who doesn’t love a bad boy turned good. Looking forward to reading more in this series and more from Megan Green.

I fell in love with Liv and Brandon from the beginning in The Off Season. Their personalities are catchy. Liv is busy with dreams for the book store that she works at and plans on taking over. She doesn't have much family and had it rough as a young girl. She doesn't trust easily and the one thing she's careful about is not becoming her mom. I can relate to Liv in some ways and my heart broke for her. She isn't good at letting others in and I so totally get that. She didn't even see Brandon Jeffers coming! He just came bull dozing in with his wittiness and dedication to her. Brandon is a hot shot baseball player who doesn't mind for everyone to know that he is a man whore. He is shocked to find that he wants more from Liv and feels strongly for her.

There was a little drama and a little angst in this story. It was heart felt and cute. It's a little cheesy and a little sexy. I loved how Brandon cared for Liv and made her believe in love. He made her see that she was worthy. He always built her up! It didn't take me long to decide that I love Brandon and Liv together!!

Ever since reading the Off-Season, I was looking forward to reading Brandon and Liv's story so of course, I couldn't pass up on the opportunity to review this book - I received an earc in exchange for leaving an honest review. So, overall, I reaaaally loved this book! I think I'm becoming an addict when it comes to this author's books because I love her writing so much.

So, what did I think of this particular book exactly then? Let me tell you!

It started off with a BANG and I loved it hehe. Boy and girl have an amaaazing night together, their chemistry is off-the-charts-HOT. They part but can't stop thinking about each other, really, and then the boy decides to go after her and receives a shocking surpriseeee! It turns out she's pregnant...

I came to love Liv a lot when reading about her in the Off-Season but I have to say that she disappointed me a bit at the beginning of this book, after she found out she's pregnant. Spoiler alert!

Thankfully, Lexi turns around a bit and undergoes a tremendous character development. She doesn't trust easily and I really get why she's afraid to let Brandon in at the beginning.

Brandon on the other hand.. he's a bulldozer and not afraid of going after Liv! Holy shitballs! I love him so frigging much! Megan Green is able to write down such amazing male characters. The lengths he goes to, to get his happily ever after with Lexi and their baby, is so beautiful to read I think. I also really loved reading his POV, because it gives so much more depth to the story but the romance development as well.

Overall, this was a really fun, sexy and swoon-worthy read! It has some angst and drama, it's really HOT and sexy, I loved the presence of the minor characters (And I'm really hoping there'll be more books in the series) yet again because they are so much fun to read about. Brandon and Liv's romance development was incredibly sweet and well-written I think. And when it comes to sports romance books, I think this author does a really really well job! She has a unique way of writing and I love her for it. It makes me want to come back for more every single time.

There’s definitely something about this author’s books that keep me coming back for more. The sports romance world is definitely competitive-and this author has proven she can hold her own. The small town that has been a popular vacation sport for some big time baseball players, is perfectly crafted for a heartwarming sweet story.
I loved Brandon-he was the classic playboy athlete, that I really fell in love with. Liv was tough for me to connect with, in that I found she made some very childish decisions which kind of took away from the book a bit. I definitely had the same problem with the first book as well, in that the heroine was just too overdone.
This definitely is a stand-alone novel, and the first book in the series doesn’t really need to be read first. This book definitely has a lot of popular tropes-secret baby, sports romance, etc. if you’re looking for a drama filled sports romance story, this is definitely the right pick for you. - By Victoria

So I didn't enjoy The Off Season very much. I am not a big fan of second chance's and if you follow me you know that. But I love secret baby stories so I thought I would give this one a chance. Yea I didn't even finish this one I am sorry to say. I wanted to like it I really did.

Liv killed this story for me, she is judgmental, stubborn, and a know it all. She acts childish while she is supposed to be raising a child. She has a dysfunctional family but instead of trying to walk away or make it better she enables it. I didn't like that at all.

Brandon, I liked and disliked Brandon. He is a man whore and doesn't hide it at all. But he also tries to be a better man so I have to give him props for that.

I know that authors put their heart and soul into every book they write and I hate, hate writing negative reviews. But this is two books back to back that I have tried to read from this author and both just didn't go well for me. I will not be reading Megan Green again. But I also will not give a good review for something I did not like. I am an honest reader, reviewer, and blogger.
So take my thoughts and review as they are, MY thoughts and review and go with them as you want.

Liv is happy with her life with her days spent in the quaint bookstore she has come to adore. But hey, sometimes we need a little fun and action even if it’s just for one night. For Liv that night of fun comes in the form of Major League Baseball's bad boy Brandon Jeffers. The two share a hot and steamy night together with a no strings attached policy but these two got way more than they were expecting.

“I search for the red frowny face I use to mark the start of my monthly nuisance. Son of a bitch. I’m pregnant.”

So Liv being the independent women she is comes up with a plan. One I wholeheartedly disagreed with but a plan nonetheless. Don’t tell Brandon about the baby and raise the baby alone. Thing is plans don’t always work out the way you want them to. Especially when known player on and off the field Brandon "the Cleanup" Jeffers can’t seem to get Liv and the night they spent together off his mind. So what happens when he shows up on her doorstep asking for a chance?

“Your entire life is about to change.”

This is a quick and cute read and even though Liv sometimes annoyed me, I enjoyed getting to know her and Brandon as they got to know each other. They were both really sweet together and I loved how even though they both may not have had the best ideas of love growing up, they gave it a chance for themselves and their baby. I was for sure pulling for them and I am so glad that their one night together turned into so much more.

“You are the first person I think of in the morning. I fall asleep with your name on my lips every night, Liv. I see nobody else. Because there is no one else. There’s only you.”

When I read the blurb my eyes went wide and I was sure I was headed to book heaven! A sports/second-chance romance with a surprise baby. Umm, yes please! So as soon as this landed on my kindle I dove right in.

Liv and Brandon have sex. He’s a famous player on the baseball field and off. She’s his teammate’s girlfriend’s best friend. When their agreed upon one night stand becomes an unexpected pregnancy, Brandon must fight to prove to Liz that he wants to be a father to their baby and more than just friends with her.

Liv was a heroine that was hard to like. Some of her choices regarding her pregnancy were so selfish. She punished Brandon for being a manwhore despite the fact that she knew this from the beginning. I really liked Brandon. He’s a standup guy who wants to do the right thing for his child. I loved that he fought for the family he wanted to create and fought to help Liv trust him and believe in love again. The way he saw Liv made me like her.

The Cleanup is an an emotional romance that takes you on a crazy ride. It’s a little heartbreaking, a lot sweet, and with a totally swoon worthy hero. 4 Stars.

Brandon Jeffers, major league player (on the field and in the bedroom) finally meets his match in Liv.

Liv has momma drama and only wants to make her book store dreams a reality. She has no room for a guy, let alone the flashy, player.

But Brandon soon figures out, that she is everything he never knew he wanted in life, and knows she’s everything he needs.

They meet, the did the deed, then got a life altering surprise. But probably an even bigger surprise to Liv was how Brandon was ready to step up!

I’ll be honest, I was a bit put off initially by Liv and her easy dismissal of Brandon and her thinking he didn’t deserve to know. But once she came around I loved their connection. Sweet story with a sweet HEA.

Started reading The Clean Up not knowing what to expect, what the story was about and totally fell in love. It was one of those rare books that just sweeps you up and fills you with sweetness and love. I really needed a sweet book and this was it for me.

Liv and Brandon, a one night stand that changed everything. Their lives would never be the same. A booknerd and the baseball player, what could go wrong. Both needed each other without knowing it. Note all Brandon had to do was prove it to Liv.

Get read for a funny romantic story that will have your heart swooning and rooting for love to conquer all. Liv and Brandon will capture your hearts will have you cheering on their love.

Brandon and Liv

I surprisingly liked this more than Lexi and Ian’s book and that was a lot. Brandon and Liv know each other through their BFF’s who found love with each other. This is a hot one night stand, turned accidental pregnancy, turned true love.

“And it’s then I realize...He didn’t just knock that ball out of the park. He also took my heart with it.”

Liv has a lot of childhood insecurities to overcome in order to know she’s nothing like her drug addicted mother or absentee father. It takes far more inner strength to let someone in than keep someone out and Brandon is the most patient man on earth to show her how strong she really is. Brandon may have been a player both on and off the field but he was completely taken with Liv from the first moment he saw her and was ready to prove to her he was a changed man. He was sweet and good hearted.

“Brandon Jeffers specializes in cleanups. On the field. In his life. And in my heart.”

I can’t wait to see who the next Rampage is who finds a HEA!

Rcvd an ARC at no cost to author..Liz has her whole life in front her and she knows what she wants and is going to get it, and then her life derails when a one-stand ends up leaving her pregnant. Liz could be a little difficult but you try to understand her background and now she is a mother and is used to doing things on her own. Then we have Brandon a self proclaimed manwhore who is used doing this his way also and also has a difficult past, but now he is a father and he needs to get Liz in letting him in. We go thru ups and down heartbreak and heartache and eventually my friends love. Enjoy!

I've enjoyed this baseball themed series. Maple Lake has the small town setting that I like, the people nice and warm. After Lexi and Ian I wondered how this would be. The plot isn't new but the way the characters are written makes it interesting. The main characters have pasts and sometimes it made them guarded. Liv and Brandon had a one night stand that changed it all. Liv is independent and guarded so she refuses to see Brandon as more. But he broke her walls slowly and showing his sincerity.

Brandon's playboy reputation made it hard for Liv to trust him at first. Especially with her childhood. Hopefully this new life change will help them closer. Of course it won't be smooth sailing but it always gets better with a little push and help from their friends. Curious about the next book to come.

Book two of Washington Rampage series, The Cleanup can be read as a standalone.

Brandon and Liv have a one night stand with some unexpected consequences. Brandon is a baseball star manwhore and Liv is a hard working woman pulling herself up from her past.

I loved The Cleanup. Brandon and Liv were great together and I loved their banter. I loved Liv’s determination and strength. They are similar in their stubbornness. The Cleanup was a fun, quick read. I would recommend to the reader looking for an athlete hero and a heroine who takes no crap.

I'm a sucker for sport romance and this one was one hell of a read. Who doesn’t love bad boy turning his life around in order to prove his love to the right woman.

I have to admit I didn't like Brandon all that much in The Off-Season. But he is showing a different side to him and with Liv you can see what lies beneath the entire facade he puts on for everybody else. I love him and how much he's willing to do for the one's he loves: »Brandon Jeffers is growing up. And the only thing I can think about that is…It's about fucking time.«

I'm in love with Liv. I love how funny, smart and sarcastic she is. I loved her relationship with Charlie. And most off all – I loved even though she is seen as a tough person she really is a softy inside.

I'm giving this one 5 »i was born to be yours« kinda stars.

So, I really liked this one! I read it in a day lol

I had my reservations about Brandon at the beginning, but he won me over. Li v was great too...smart and hesitant to trust Brandon due to his reputation, but really just wanting someone to love her.

On to the next one!
