My Rating: 4.5 Stars!

It was a new start, a new life in a new town and Juniper Jones decides to take a walk on the wild side with the hottest guy in the bar. It was a perfect farewell to her old life, but little did she know the anonymous guy she did the deed with would become her first and probably most important client at the new law firm.

Ty Stag, pro hockey player, is a media bad boy with a hot temper that got him in big trouble. Then again, if this new town had more women like the one he met at the bar, this could work out okay. Little did he know, his new attorney, the one who is supposed to be sure he toes the line is none other than ‘that woman” from the night before!

The sparks will fly as these two play keep away (from each other), because not only could Ty lose his last chance for a Stanley Cup win, Juniper would definitely get disbarred.

FILLED POTENTIAL by Lainey Davis brings fun and heat to the contemporary romance genre as one strong and independent lady melts in the presence of a hockey bad boy who really has a heart of gold. We spend some time inside each of their heads, and to call Juniper’s thought process chaotic, would be an understatement! Ty has a side to him that must have been kept out of his public life, he really is a good guy, in spite of his supposedly legendary sex life and explosive temper.

Lainey Davis brings us a light read, which goes beyond skimming the surface, but not so deep that it gets over-thought-out. Book 2 of a series, this standalone can be read without book 1, but I’m going to guess it shouldn’t be missed! A sweet and spicy romance with a touch of humor, perfect for a summertime read.

This is book 2 in Lainey Davis’ Stag Brothers series. While each book is about a different brother, this runs somewhat concurrently with book 1. I think they’re best enjoyed in order. Books 1-3 are now part of a box set (ebook & audio).

I loved Ty & Juniper individually and as a couple. I enjoy the “one night stand turns out to be your new coworker” trope and liked the way Davis wrote these two. It’s also a lot of fun when the guy is doing the chasing - in this instance because Juniper has a lot more to lose if their relationship goes public. There’s a little angst, but it’s brief and makes sense in the story.

Quick listen and sweet romance. I’m jumping right into Thatcher’s book, Fragile Illusion.

Narration:
Nikola Muckajev continues to be a great fit for Davis’s writing and her characters. I love the way he alternates his voice for the chapters depending on the perspective. Ty’s sense of humor and Juniper’s exasperation with him come through perfectly. Easy to listen to.

Juniper Jones started out strong for me in this book. After an intense morning of rowing/sculling she comes home to find her longtime boyfriend in bed with another woman. She leaves immediately, gets a new job in a different city and she decides to step out of her comfort zone and goes after the hottest guy in the bar the weekend before starting her new job.

Monday morning ready to start a new chapter in her life she finds out her one night stand is to be her new client to make matters more uncomfortable its her boss’s brother.

It seemed once Juniper comes face to face with Ty again and now that he has a name she suddenly becomes a dramatic, overacting tween. The only other time she is strong is when she is rowing other than that she is just a hot mess.

We are told that Ty is a hothead and that’s why he’s down in the Minors to do penance. Honestly in this story he is the clear-headed thinker. He is thoughtful, courteous, observant, caring and yes he’s a bit of a wise cracking button pushing testosterone hockey player but nothing in his actions shows that he’s a hothead. There is a lot of talk about his bad bed hopping days but nothing in this story show’s that’s what he’s really like. Must commend the author for giving no details about Ty’s prior hookups as those make liking the male lead a bit harder. Juniper showed so much strength in the beginning of the story it became disappointing to see her disintegrate to such a hot mess and for me it just took away from really forming a connection with her.

We spend a lot of time listening to their thoughts and having them apart. The angst is drawn out way to long and to be honest totally unnecessary in my opinion. Juniper spends more time ogling Ty than interacting with him and when they do interact she’s given to hysterics. When they finally get through all the needless hurdles that Juniper has created it just falls flat for me.

There are a lot of good parts in this book and both of the main characters have hard backgrounds that they have overcome but I still had a hard time connecting with them. This story had the potential to really be a great story however for me Juniper going to full angst female mode for most of the book made me feel that this was wasted potential.

4.5 stars - So, this book starts with a, "DANG! That's cold," before quickly moving to a, "Sign me up for a ride at that bar!" *fanning myself* Yeah, so the heat? Oh, it's definitely in there and burning bright.

Juniper Jones got quite the shock when she walks into her apartment after rowing practice one morning. Her solution? It's time to relocate. She finds herself crossing paths with Ty Stag one night and when she encounters him again a week later in a professional capacity, her world tips again. I like the dynamics between the two. They are both strong people who have some baggage but are very supportive of one another, no matter. It has a very triumphant finish and is worth a read or listen.

I also liked the narrator, Nikola Muckajev. I could easily listen to that voice for hours on end.

Story: 4.5 stars
Narration: 4 stars

This was alright..

I liked how uplifting he was to her but the romance just didn't seem very romance to me.

I did however like "Girl, you know you can't tell your friends you don't like their partner." SO TRUE

Smoking hot! Between the story and the narrator this book should come with a heat warning!!!!! Seriously on fire! I loved the go get it attitudes of Juniper from the beginning of this book despite the way her life is going. And who doesn’t love a cocky, self assured Adonis of Hockey? Ty is mischievous and a stud muffin in the dirty talk department. I adored this story and the emotions. From the very beginning it was poking at your heart. Seriously good stuff and I can’t wait to look up more by this narrator because he’s voice is just yummmmmmm!

Great Read!

I love stories about sexy, smart, strong women. Juniper Jones worked hard to have it all. Having read the first book, I appreciated how the author included Juniper's and Ty's perspective in this book. I also enjoyed how this second book shared more of the athletes' story. The sex scenes are a bonus. I'm definitely going to read Thatcher's story next.

Awesome Story & Narration 🎧 A Captivating Delight!

Filled Potential
Stag Brothers, Book 2
By: Lainey Davis
Narrated by: Nikola Muckajev

I loved everything about this book, from Lainey Davis wonderful writing style to the interesting story and characters she created to the perfectly casted narration. I am really loving her “Stag Brother” series, each book features a different brother and can be enjoyed as a stand-alone. This book grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated it straight to the end. The storylines and characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with. I adored the two lead characters, Tyrion “Ty” Stag and Juniper Jones, I loved how much they grew by the end of the book, especially Ty, a hot tempered hockey player who was picked up by a major league team, the Pittsburgh Fury, with a strict character clause built into his contract. Juniper Jones wanted a fresh start and wasted no time moving to a new city and getting a new job. Before she started that job she went out on a mission to wash her ex out of her body and mind, her goal was for a hot one night stand, something she never did. She finds the perfect guy and he shows her how hot sex can really be. When it is time to start her new job her new boss, Tim Stag, introduces her to her new client, his brother Ty and her one night stand. They did not exchange names or numbers so she was taken aback to see him again, as was he with her, though he was pretty happy about it. There was great chemistry between these two but she did not want to jeopardize her career so she refused to give in. I loved how everything plays out in this book, it is a sports romance the is cleverly plotted. Lainey Davis shows the disparity in the sports world for men and women, no she is not preachy about it she just keeps it real. This book has everything a great romance should have plus some, there is plenty of drama, a touch of angst, lots of heartfelt and emotional moments and a wonderful romance between two strong characters. Thank you for another great story!

I listened to the Audible edition, Nikola Muckajev continues to bring these characters to life, giving each their own distinct voice and personality, making it easy to follow along and who is who. Her portrayal of the characters is spot on, sounding just as I picture them to sound. She sets the perfect tone for the story, captures the all the characters emotions and projects them into her performance. She is an entertaining storyteller and a versatile voice artist. It is a pleasure to listen to her work. Thank you for another great listen🎧

I bought the first book of the series during the one of the Stuff Your Kindle Days, I am a compulsive series finisher and knew this was Juniper’s book, so was interested in how it was going to go. It was okay, I just wanted more.

This book has two points of view. The first is Ty Stag and he is looking for redemption. He is a pro hockey player with a hot temper, he is a new addition to the Pittsburgh Fury thanks to his brother’s connection. Ty hits the clubs to celebrate his success and finds an irresistible woman looking for one night of wild passion. No names. Just heat and passion. The second point of view is Juniper Jones, and she needs a fresh start. She has left behind her cheating boyfriend and wants to cut loose and forget about her problems. She finds just the right man to take her breath away for one night. When she shows up at work on Monday, eager to meet her new client . . . the boss’s brother . . . she’s breathless for a different reason. Her new client and the man from the nightclub are one and the same. Can Juniper maintain her professional composure while Ty is in the room? Or will their sparks melt the ice and get Juniper disbarred?

I liked Donna and how the Ty’s gran basically knew from the beginning what was going on and telling Ty to stop moping and to take control of his life. I liked that Juniper wasn’t the kind of girl to give up everything to be with the guy and she was determined to still have her own career whether it was in law and rowing. I liked that she wanted to stand her ground against Ty and Tim.

However, I felt like Juniper had a personality transplant between this book and the last book and considering they were both set at the same time, how did that happen? In the first book, she was all strong and bad-ass and wanting to help Alice and stuff. In this book, she spent more time pining and ogling and going back and forth with herself than just being open with Ty and Tim and considering how much stick she gave Tim about what happened with Alice. I still hate the insta-love trope, and it was a bit rushed with the beginning. There was no slow build up, or even a few conversations before Ty started acting like a hormonal teenager once he found out Juniper was his lawyer.

I wanted more within the pages that we had and would have liked more from Juniper’s work with the women's sports team and her own sports career.

A NHL player gets his dream opportunity to play for his home town team and meets an incredible woman... twice.

Tyrion Stag has always dreamed of playing hockey for Pittsburgh, his home town. His lawyer brother agrees to represent him, and to clean up Ty's, somewhat deserved, negative reputation. But nothing prepares him for the moment when he meets the woman assigned to represent him, who happens to be a woman he knows intimately.

Juniper Jones is going outside her comfort zone by leaving her ex, packing up her things and taking a new job in a new city. Determined to continue her hobby of competitive rowing, she immediately finds a team she can join. Things seem to be going well until she meets her new client, who she meets again for the second time.

The tension and attraction between Ty and Juniper grows stronger each time they meet. Despite all the reasons why they shouldn't begin a relationship, the two begin to fall hard for each other in a short amount of time. Secretly dating an athlete brings a new level of non-privacy, and Juniper runs from it all when things become overwhelming leaving Ty unsure about the next step.

A quick, fun read with some drama, but very little conflict. These two have a great connection and share some great intimate, sexy scenes. Ty's optimism and sunny disposition are a great balance for Juniper, who tends to think she doesn't deserve happiness. Super cute HEA and Epilogue. Loved the bonus scene as well.

Bonus: this story runs almost parallel to Alice and Tim's story, Book one in this series.

Rowing for the puck

An unexpected twist in a bathroom tryst brings us two individuals who are passionate about what they both love. When the reformed hothead of ice hockey meets the ice queen of rowing, it is a match made in sports heaven. Juniper became the defender of Ty and the one who would keep him in line so his new team will not regret plucking him out of the minors. Ty, trying to prove not only to his team but also to his family and JJ that he is worth it. He becomes a thoughtful, loving person who tries very hard to keep his nose out of trouble and head stuck in the game. He endears himself to JJ by showing her a side of him that is suddenly awakened when the threat of not having his dream, both hockey and JJ herself, taken away from him. Circumstances are changing and how their love story unravels is a read that will keep you falling in love over and over again. Can't wait for Thatcher's story!

Zach in bed with some random women at 6am in the freaking morning, who does that??
Putting on a dressing gown she walks out of there and doesn't look back.

Moving across might be just what she needs.

Boy n girl meet do the dirty no names exchanged.
But guess who's gonna turn up again before long???

Ty Stag and Juniper Jones are strong characters, athletes with fire and spirit. A hockey player and a rower....a hockey player and a lawyer! When Juniper comes home to find her long-time boyfriend cheating on her, she goes out to a bar and finds herself an amazing one night stand. The next morning, she finds that her one night stand is now her client, and that creates an ethical problem for her. As much as Ty tries to follow her wishes, he's not going to give up on making her someone special. He doesn't have relationships but, as time goes on and he watches her in action on the river, he's ready to change his thinking. They try to keep things quiet and private but, as is to be expected, they are found out and have the paparazzi in their faces. This is a very well-written book and Lainey Davis keeps the characters real and relatable. Once again, Nikola Muckajev does an admirable job with the narration and succeeds in bringing it to life!

This is book 2 in Davis' Stag Brothers series and is the story of Ty and Juniper. This can be read / listened to as a stand alone (this is my first in the series - and I hope won't be my last). Ty is a pro hockey player and Juniper, while an attorney is also a rower. These two come together with explosive chemistry and after what they each thought would be one passionate experience, find themselves thrust together time and time again. A great read / listen with a fun storyline with a taste of the forbidden. Narration was incredibly well done and made for a great listening experience. Great balance of excitement, angst, romance and steam with broken characters that you will fall in love with!

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

So good! Love the Stag Brothers and their ladies!

This is the 2nd book in the series and it's all about Ty and Juniper. Ty just moved back to his hometown to play professional hockey for the Fury's. His brother Tim runs the law firm that handles his contract. His lawyer is a new one to the firm and he actually just had sex with her without even knowing her name the night before.

Now the dilemma is that he wants to see her again and he also wants to keep her as his attorney.

Juniper is in shock that the man she had sex with is her new boss's little brother. She should tell her boss what happened and pull herself from being his attorney.

These two get into such crazy hot situations and I loved this story! I am so glad we got more onto the Stag family dynamic. The characters are wonderful!

So ready for Thatcher story. Enjoy

Filled Potential is the third book I've read by Lainey Davis. It's sweet, sexy, funny and emotional at times. I love the chemistry between Juniper and Ty. The forbidden nature of their relationship makes it even hotter. I loved Juniper's drive and intelligence - especially in her job. But her backstory fits other aspects of her behavior and personality. This was fun book and I hope to read more of this series soon.

Filled Potential: Stag Brothers Book 2

Ty and Jupiter finally get together as a couple, in secret of course. It has to be this way because she happens to be his lawyer and if it would get out she's in big trouble with the law firm. His brother Tim is her boss. Ty, is a big time hockey player going against teams for the Stanley Cup. She travels with the his team, of course that was before they got serious. Jupiter met him before she became his lawyer. But, there was something about Jupiter that TY couldn't keep himself away from her. I am not saying anything else about this story except it was awesome read and I enjoyed it a lot and if I enjoyed it this much I wouldn't be sharing it with you! ENJOY!!

This book was a quick, steamy and fun read. I really enjoyed the hockey and rowing aspects of this story. There was a perfect balance of sports and romance. Ty and Juniper both excel at their sports and are super supportive of each other.
This story stars with the typical tryst and then the next day find out they are client and lawyer aka forbidden. I was hugely relieved when there wasn't some huge falling out from this but that it worked well into the story.
Ty is a bit cocky at the start but as he falls for Juniper he becomes the perfect amount of alpha while still being supportive. Juniper kicks butt at everything she does and I always love a strong female lead.
Loved this book and on to Thatcher's story!

I loved this absolutely captivating story and the characters are down to earth and relatable. This story is about Tyrion Stag, a hockey player in need of a reputation makeover and his new lawyer, Juniper Jones, who's in need of a fresh start away from her cheating ex-boyfriend. When they meet as lawyer and client for the first time it's a shock to realize that they already know each other intimately. They had a no names exchanged hookup at a bar over the weekend. Grab this wonderfully written story and find out what happens when they try to be professional but can't seem to keep their hands off each other. Definitely a must read and I highly recommend it!

It was a pleasant read.

Juniper is a keen rower and a lawyer, who moved to a new town to get away from her cheating ex. She decides she wants a one night stand to ensure she removes all thoughts of her cheating ex. She meets a guy who is all that and doesn’t swap names, has her fun and then leaves.

In work, her new client just happens to be Ty, her one night stand and also brother of her boss.

It started off good, but Juniper got on my nerves. Ty seemed a nice, sensible and caring guy and too good for Ju.

Wasn’t my favourite story, it was ok. I preferred #1.
I’ve got #3 but not holding my breath that it will be any better.

I love a good sports book, and this one did not disappoint. It's a story many have written about sleeping with a stranger to find them at their job the next day. Ty is not Juniper's boss but they are around each other a lot. I love books with alpha men and strong women who know what they want and aren't afraid to get it! Good read!

3.5 stars. It was knocked down some because I listened to it on YouTube and there were parts that were left out. It is available at my library but the hold was several weeks out and I wasn't willing to wait (life of a mood reader lol). The banter is great though. There is a small bit of confusion at times when you're unsure which character is talking or who they are talking about towards the end. Overall fun quick audiobook for while cooking.

the story and the characters are interesting, and the narrator did a good job with the male voices. I don't understand why the choice here was to use only 1 narrator, instead of 2 - for the male and the female POVs. the tone of the narrator was almost insulting in the female POV.
