Arctic Fire is the sixth book in the Fortis Security series by Maddie Wade. Just when you think the series couldn’t get any better, Ms. Wade goes and pulls this out of her hat and blows the others out of the water. I love this series so much, and each book seems to outdo the one before it- but Arctic Fire is my firm favourite out of the series so far. It could be read as a standalone, but I really recommend reading the previous books to get a real feel for the series and characters, plus they are each superb stories as well. This has special ops, undercover ops, action, danger, drama, second chances, and romance. There really is so much going for this story that you really should discover all the details for yourself, I am sure you won’t be disappointed. Roz Maklovoi is the leader of ‘Zenobi’, which is a highly skilled and deadly group of female assassins. She has come so far, especially since enduring the traumatic events of her past, the likes of which would have broken most other people and left them a shell of their former selves. But not Roz, she used her trauma and became strong, determined and deadly. But, as the life of a loved one is threatened, Roz discovers that the one responsible for her anguish has resurfaced- so she embarks on a dangerous solo mission that will test her skills and her mettle. Kanan Phillips (K) is a bit of a lone wolf who has a past connection to Roz that he’s never been able to let go or forget. So, when these two are brought together again, he’s determined to protect her and not lose her again. What happened to Roz all those years ago? What is her connection to Kanan? How will this mission play out? Will they fulfill the mission? Another incredible read from Ms. Wade and a brilliant addition to a superb series! I love the sneak peak at the end of the story….. I can’t wait for the next book!
Arctic Fire just became one of my favorite books by Ms. Wade, and one of the best books in the Fortis Security series. Kanan and Roz are a delightful couple that charmed me from the very beginning. Roz, a woman whose horrendous past taught her to build iced walls to preserve her self worth, is faced with the love of a wonderful man whose patience love pushed her walls to crumble as well as all that she knows to maintain composure. Kanan, a man tired of war, full of regrets, weary of being rejected by the woman who owned his heart and future, is faced with the choice to accept defeat or to fight for a happy ending that seems unreachable. Roz and Kanan will get together in their last mission which outcome could lead to their destruction or to a well deserved happy ever after. Arctic Fire is a nonstop action packed story with a love that will melt ice.
This is the sixth book in a series and I think it is super important to read all of the books in order. There are lots of characters, relationships and situations that are talked about and without the background, I think it will feel like starting in the middle of long movie.
This action adventure is pretty quick moving and as each story in the past, has a surprising little twist.
The heroine is a kick a$$ super hero type of woman with wicked issues from her past. There were absolutely times I just wanted to tell her to move on (realizing this is fiction, I would never do that IRL).
All of the characters have very unique personality traits and once they are introduced, you can see what role they play in the series. The writing is strong and while there may be background information missing, it was an enjoyable read.
Arctic Fire is the third book in this series that I’ve read, and now I’m starting to really understand the flow of the group and all the connections. Roz seems like a tough cookie who won’t let anyone close and doesn’t want love or family. Kanan keeps pushin though. He knows in his heart the love they have and how strong it is.
Of course even bigger than the love story is the action. These groups take on big bad guys, there are ongoing threats alongside new ones. I am so into all of it now. And I’m super pumped for the next book. It’s fast paced, interesting, and totally different from anything else I’ve been reading.
This book is full of laughter and tears. I absolutely loved it. Both Roz and Kanan are both very complex characters, and to see the past that Roz has overcome along with the journey she chooses, is both heartbreaking and refreshing. Once I started this book, it was hard to put it down. The only complaint (if you can call it that) is that once I finished, it left me impatiently wanting more. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
I absolutely loved this book! I adored Kanan and Roz, they have a hot chemistry and they are awesome together! I loved how patient he was with her. The action is non stop from beginning to end! This series gets better and better! Great job Ms. Wade! Can't wait to see what's next! I highly recommend this book and series!
Arctic Fire: A Fortis Security Novel Book 6 By: Maddie Wade 5 out of 5 stars
The story Arctic Fire: A Fortis Security Novel Book 6 by Maddie Wade is a romantic suspense book. it is an amazing read. It is a story that hooked me in from the very beginning and kept my attention to the very end. It includes action, adventure, danger, and romance. I love the characters of Roz and Kanan. Roz is a strong, intelligent, clever, and beautiful woman. She does have her own personal demon which she has vowed to take care of. She also has built walls up around herself. She can’t let anyone in or else they will be hurt. Why do those walls start to crack whenever she is around Kanan? Kanan is a man who has fallen for a woman with ice around her heart. He was not a man that wanted to settle down, however, meeting and falling for Roz has changed his mind. She haunts his every waking thought. Can he convince Roz that she is his forever? Both Roz and Kanan feel the magnetic pull between them. They have a connection/attraction that is undeniable. The temperature in the room rises when these two are together and it is amazing that flames don’t break out. Roz knows that Kanan will do anything to keep her safe. Will she finally trust him with her heart? Will this couple find an HEA? Read this story to find out. This book also has a storyline in which Roz, Kanan and the other characters face danger. There are plans being put in motion. There are times when I was on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next and if all would survive. This is the second book I have read in the series and I found that I love the strong woman in each and the men that both love and want to protect them. It had me rooting 100% for the main characters to find happiness together. A well-written page-turner that I highly suggest reading.
Loved the book mostly because Roz is such a kick ass heroine that when she get to see the other side you truly feel horrible for the injustices she suffered through her life. Al though each book could be read as a stand alone for romantic notions. They are inter connected, such as the divine watcher plot line and then character build up along the way. I really feel like you need to read zin and Celeste book before you touch roz’s book. Because you get a lot of back ground info about their life and what happened to them to set the ground work for why she is the way she is. Loved kanan. He was so much more than you hoped for. After meeting him earlier in the series and turning his life around relating to Noah’s kidnapping that he was forced to to. He is swoon worthy. He is always willing to be there for Roz no matter what. But you also want to hate her at some points in the book for how cruel she can be and how she pushed him away. She was insulating her self as protection from hurt and pain of loss. Which is understandable after everything she suffered through. Loved that he still tried but did come to a point where he had to protect himself from hurt and walk away. Showed emotional strength and recognition that not all things we want and love are good for us. Loved that they got their HEA. and can’t wait for more. Looking forward to drew’s book and then Meg and Daniels. Book. He deserves so much after the loss he had. What a cliffie. But I think honestly. Between sky, Lucy and Meg, hoping that at least both Lucy and skye have positive news haha
Just bad enough bad boy, Kanan 'K' Phillips rescued nearly dead Zenobi leader Roz Maklavoi after her failed solo mission to take down Usov. K tenderly nursed Roz, laying his heart on the line, promising it was his last attempt to try for a relationship, while waiting for Fortis to arrive so they could put a plan together to take down Usov and perform rescues if needed. Roz rejected K, convinced she was too damaged by her past to give K all of her.
Megan takes advantage of Lucy’s illness and sneaks a place on the team to find her place and get closer to Daniel; K promises to watch Roz to ensure she doesn’t have a PTSD episode when the team gets into Usov’s place. When the team gets in Usov’s house they find him preparing to sell several young girls. During an after-action exercise session, Daniel gives Roz food for thought regarding K. Rating: 4.25stars
How many times does it take being rejected for it to finally sink in? Kanan may have finally reached his limit after rescuing Roz. She acts only minimally grateful and remains as prickly and off putting as ever. Her entire focus is on exacting revenge on a monster from her past. With members of Fortis a plan is developed and executed to help Roz with her quest. K is resolved to walking away once all is said and done. Once her all consuming desire for vengeance is accomplished, Roz has to take a long hard look at her life. Only she can fix her mistakes with him and hope against hope that he lets her.
This series of books is filled with continuous action, interesting characters and the plot is never boring. It's not as hard to keep everyone straight as in some books. I am starting Book 7, I will be really disappointed when I get to the last book. The characters all have a story to tell, Fortis Security is about a group of dedicated men and women who has each others back and the love they all share is unlike any in true to life. I would recommend reading from the first book, it has a plot which starts there and continues to add to it.
Warning Fortis Security book habit forming in every good way possible
Impossible to say which book best since all fantastic. Like a good meal. A plot full of twists, turns and captivating subplots. Can't put it down. Men yummy enough to outdo cheesecake. Lol Make that great chocolate cake. Strong women who bring out the best in their men. And the story of Z and Roz... Ohhh, a fairy tale in the making. Please. Continue this series. Each book stands alone but we want MORE
Wow, another great story. I love this series as they all feel like family. These two though were really meant to be together and when Natalia and Katarina came to stay with them that was so terrific. I enjoyed this one and the next one sounds really good too. Thank you Maddie Wade for such an awesome series!
In this thread Kanan and Roz's long ongoing problem is finally revealed. When they first met and her not remembering became part of the drama. Of course the Fortis company have taken on a Russian mafia who is also part of their shared history. This is quite in comparison to the previous book. But it seems that the plot is just heating up.
I was so happy to see this book released. To see Roz finally at peace was something I really wanted. Kanan and Roz’s history is heartbreaking and emotional. This book has it all. Drama angst and so much love. Great book and series.
Kanan and Roz are perfect for each other. Roz is a bad a$$ who is hiding a very tragic and painful childhood. Kanan is a bad a$$ who loves her. This one is action packed and fast paced. I love this series!
Located this book the most in the series so far totally a different twist from the rest. The only thing though those sex scenes are the same. Arghhh😡. They need to be different all the men practically have the same moves. Other than that great book
I have NEVER in my life read book after book in succession as I am doing with this series. Yeah, it's that good. I will not read another book till I get to the end of this series...so....onto book 7
I would recommend this series to adults that love reading stories that are laugh out loud funny, very steamy, full of suspense, and twist, and oh so romantic. I could not stop reading until the very end.
After all of these years of hiding from each other and their families, Kanan and Roz realize that the only thing that really matters is their love for each other.
The best part of this book was the drama. There was constant movement in the storyline and Fox and K were such fun characters to watch get together. The struggles were proven sweeter in the end when they got together.
This book so far is one of my favorites in the series. This Roz and K's story. Roz had an awful childhood only to block out her feelings, so when k came along, she didn't know what to do. Something happened then, and the walls came back, but this book shows what they both had to go through.
She had done it again. Usually as stories in series go on they become less riviting but not this one it seems to go from strength to strength. The family just becomes larger and more caring. Love it.
