I really enjoyed the first Mrs Wishy-Washy book but this one just seemed a repeat without any real sense. In the first book she washes them because they are muddy; in this one just because it's that day of the week.
This story along with Mr. Wishy-Washy is just plan old fun and enjoyable to read. Both husband and wife teach children the importance of good hygiene. Including the animals in the family and part of the household is what makes it fun. The animals act just like children when they are told "It's bath time". They scatter and hide. The words are simply, the book is durable for toddlers and words aren't needed to tell the story because the pictures do. Great book for toddlers.
I read this book when I was in second grade. Although I do not remember everything within, I do remember the sense of pride I had when I finally read it all on my own. I struggled with ready when I was young and this book was one of the first I was able to conquer. I recommend it to everyone learning to read.
Mrs. Wishy-Washy Makes a Splash (Board Book) by Joy Cowley This book is a historical book about rhyme and rhythm. It is a funny story that shows repletion. The connection to first grade readers helps them understand reading and text connections.
