This is a book of thought provoking essays covering a range of topics that include literature, teaching, and Men's responsibilities. What he has written still holds true today Excellent read; I highly recommend it.

A quote about art from the book: The truth is that we are immersed in art - on radio and television, on billboards and in the popular magazines, in the design of buildings and cities. Another truth is that much of this is bad art. It nevertheless has a major role in shaping lives. Upon that art men found their ideas of beauty and ugliness, heroism and virtue, dignity and pathos.

Essays by my grandfather on a few topics, most of them about education. I also like them.
