UTOPIA DYSTOPIA Years after Baal's unsuccessful invasion of Seraphina, a new portal device offers Justin and gang a way back to Eden. Instead they end up trapped in Utopia, a realm where humans founded a nearly perfect civilization, at least until disaster struck, turning most of the citizens into zombie-like eidolons. The realm is now ruled by a powerful elemental magus named Vokan. But all is not as it seems. This realm seems to be just another stepping stone for Baal. If Justin can't restore the dystopia back to Utopia, then Baal will add another notch to his belt and be one step closer to supreme leader of all.
I learned after I listened to this book that there was a spin-off series that takes place prior, however, this story was written in a way that I barely realized I had missed something. Without giving away spoilers I truly enjoyed this book without the spin off series, however, if I could go back in time I would have listened to them first. The narration as always was absolutely brilliant. Austin is very talented and voices characters seamlessly while bring each character to life. Well done everyone!! This is book 15 and I highly recommend this book/series!
As always I loved the latest in the Overworld series. This is urban fantasy at its best! I love the characters and how they have become like old friends! The different worlds created by the author are fascinating and leave you wanting more. I can’t wait for the series to continue! If you love magic, adventure and the classic struggle of the ongoing battle of good versus evil this series is a must read! It’s like a more believable Harry Potter type of saga!
As always, a fantastic journey. And an entire night's sleep avoided. Dawn has broken, but I couldn't put it down until finished. An entire new world, brilliant references, magic and mayhem, laugh out loud moments and quiet tears of sadness. I can't wait to see what happens next!
OK, so I've gotten used to the juvenile behavior of Justin and his friends. This story has not one dull moment! I can't even begin to describe it but it was a fun read.
How Mr. Cohen can juggle so many different characters in so many stages of life, and so many locations with so many surprises is far beyond me, except as a rabid fan. I can’t say enough about his books. Start with the first one, and enjoy the journey.
I've been a sucker for this series and I got lost in this episode as well. I was hoping it would last me a week or more but no, I finished it in just a few days.
