Jane is best known for her bestsellers "An Angel Novel Series" Dream Angel Book 1 Dark Angel Book 2 Death Angel Book 3 (Coming Soon)
Dark Angel (Angel #2) by Jane West is book two in the series but one could start this book without reading the first, the author catches the reader up well. This book I felt was a bit darker than the first book. It was always bad things happening after bad things, ugh. She had no luck at all. It got very depressing. It was an okay read but I liked the first book better. I think it was just too dark for me.
I love this story. Stevie has the worst luck. And the Illuminati are the force behind her bad luck. Luckily, she has two friends who have taken her under their wing when she had no one to go to. It looks like things are looking up for Stevie when a key she'd been given from Aidan had loads of money. She'd given the key to Jeffery for safe keeping the night before she lost her freedom. Stevie was released from a mental hospital after three years of being tied down to a bed and force-fed drugs to keep her manageable.
She goes to live with Dom and Jeffery in New Orleans in the Garden District and they become her family. On the first night, she is visited by Aidan's sister, Helen. Stevie took an instant dislike to Helen but there was no love lost between the two. Helen was snide and gave Stevie a warning from the family. If Stevie started snooping around, she and the boys would face a certain death. That's when everything was set in motion.
Stevie realizes that the Family was keeping deep dark secrets and feared she'd find out. Stevie discovered why and the hunt was on. She stumbles into a new love interest, Val Cross, and she finds that he is of the same race she is but there are hang ups. His kind don't accept impures. Stevie is part human and angel. She was not designed by divine creation rather a lab and man-made unlike her fellow race.
There are some very sad parts to this story that I actually cried. So much has changed including both Aidan and Stevie. The end blew me away. I didn't expect any of it. So much was at risk and the stakes were high. The ending was shocking and I'm suffering for the next book. This author, Jane West did a fantastic job creating a story that you can just fall into and ride the waves right along with her. I loved the story and couldn't put the book down. I recommend you read this book!
Dark Angel is the second instalment of "Angel Novel Series." Three years later and the Illuminati hasn't given up on world domination. There are some newcomers along with other interesting supernatural beings.
Stevie has been living in a haze for the past three years and out of the blues, she is offered her freedom. Luckily, Jeffery and Dom have made good use of the key she left with them in the first book.
She moves in with them and intends to get on with her life and leave what happened previously behind her. The past doesn't leave her alone though, and a visit from one of the enemy makes her realise that she is missing something! Now that she can see more clearly, she puts the pieces together and what she finds cannot be ignored.
When Stevie goes to a club to find clues which can lead her to what she is looking for, she is compelled to do something which alerts the patrons to her true nature. Val, short for Valor is a Zophasemine, an angel of pure blood, saves her life and warns her off. She doesn't take any notice of his warnings and he eventually relents. He offers help but it's a dark and dangerous road. Stevie and everyone she loves is in mortal danger! They develop feelings for each other but anything longterm is a remote possibility. Besides, the Illuminati is getting more aggressive and devious in their pursuits for power and Stevie is the main target.
Having been through "hell" for the past three years, Stevie's outlook on life has changed. She cares for her loved ones but she has a tendency to act without thinking. Something which brings nothing but trouble, most of the time. She discovers some of her own powers but remains an outcast! Nothing has changed in that respect.
I like the take on the Seelie and Unseelie Faes. This instalment is full of danger and surprises! The love and heartaches are palpable. It ends on a cliffhanger when everything becomes clear on what happened on that fateful day, three years ago. It has more than piqued my curiosity to find out what happens next. What is Nick's role in the story? Sally's actions look more and more intriguing. Is there more to her than meets the eyes? Yep, I am definitely looking forward to reading the next part of this captivating series.
After reading Dream Angel, I had to see what happened next! Dark Angel picks up where the first left off, only some time has gone by, time Stevie Ray Collins has lost! Dazed by murky moments, she plods along picking up the missing pieces and moves in with our lovable friends Jeffery and Dom! But as the title suggests, the story grows darker by the minute. I'm so glad for Jeffrey's levity! No longer an innocent teen, Stevie learns to defend herself as the Illuminati draws near. Honing her powers--taught by new teacher Valor, a welcomed distraction of brawn and dreamy looks--he takes a bit of convincing to get on board. As Stevie navigates her way through the New World Order, her search for Aiden reveals more secrets along the way. And the source of the Illuminati's newest strength is the most surprising of all! This isn't my usual genre but I was curious. Now I'm invested deep and have to see how it all pans out. I'm already a few chapters into Death Angel and recommend this series to anyone who loves paranormal.
Stevie was stronger but impulsive and her behavior was still that of a teenager. Seemed she had not learned from her past mistakes. While reading, I was scolding her all the time. Questions were answered, truths revealed but, all of that was real? The narratives and descriptions were detailed, interesting and added to the action. Aidan and Nick’s characters intrigued me a lot. A lot of hunk men in here and the poor girl couldn’t enjoy them. That was a pity. The author’s imagination had no limits. Lot of suspense, intrigue, distraught, mojos and magic working in here. The author crafted so much twists and surprises that left me speculating and thinking about different outcomes. Love the stories that make my imagination work harder and I think the author had more surprises under her sleeve so, I’m eagerly waiting for more. Love the trickiest and gruesome stories that I had no idea what’s going to happen but I’m expecting a HEA or a reward for the protagonist suffering (and mine), at the end of the story.
Suspenseful, dark and erotic, this book had me from the word go!
I read West's first novel and couldn't wait to get my hands on this one. She doesn't disappoint, immersing the reader into a dark, gripping world. She weaves a descriptive narrative with ease, making you part of the dark journey.

Jane West has do it again with the continuing story of Stevie, Jeffrey, Dom and Aiden. This time we start with Stevie waking up in an insane asylum after being found guilty of killing her mother and several of her boyfriends. She was amazingly was released for no reason. The Illuminati had worked j ed their magic again but not without a price. Jeffrey and Dom was waiting for Stevie with a mansion and buckets of money that Aden had k left her. Stevie was told Aiden was dead. A lot went on while she was in the mental hospital 3 years that she doesn't remember much. Life has never been easy for Stevie but even with money and family she still can't be happy. Jeffrey and Dom try to make a life for her but she goes and meets Val. Val is not what he seems to be, but he cares for Stevie. Dom has a heart to heart with Stevie and let's her know all about the Illuminati and who and what she really is. The author takes you into a world that has no uses for humans and only want power. Magic and magical creatures do exist. There are several side storylines going on at the same time but nothing that can't be followed. Be prepared to be drawn into the life of Stevie and the Illuminati. Will Stevie survive the war to come? Will the Cajun Nicholas be able to save her?
The first book in the series drew me in so quickly and kept me spinning down the rabbit hole, that I had to have book two. The author didn't disappoint! Although this book was a far darker read and there were times I didn't think I would be able to come up for air, I enjoyed it to the very end. Jane West kept me guessing and reguessing through the entire story, throwing me twists and turns I couldn't have anticipated.
I great read, but a rough ride and not for the faint of heart. The emotions, drama, heartache, and deep darkness can chew you up and spit you out, then stomp all over what's left of you. Now I can't wait for the third book to be published so I can find out what other hellish drama Aiden will be dishing out to Stevie!
Stevie was arrested for her mother's murder and the murder of the two boyfriends also. She spent three years numbed by drugs and disillusioned thoughts. When she was suddenly released from Haven Hospital Stevie lived with her friends, Dom and Jeffrey. They had the money that she had given them and they purchased a mansion in the Garden District of New Orleans. From there life got strange...
Stevie was told by Ms. Noel to find a golden eyed friend to help her find her lost child. In walks Valor, an angel. They fall in love and then in walks Aiden, again.
This is a thrill ride of emotions. It will keep you guessing throughout.
Jane West maintained her high standards in Dark Angel Book 2. I loved Book 1 and was even more enthralled with Book 2. The many twists and turns and the trials Stevie had to undergo brought tears to my eyes. The story was mind-blowing. Jane West knows how to deal out a page-turner. I am looking forward to reading more books by this talented author.
enemies, unrequited loves. all of this is in this amazing book. what happens when stephanie moves? what happens when she realizes she has enemies, that wont leave her alone? what will she do?
3.5 Stars This would be a really good read- if it was edited properly. The charcacters are good and the storyline is interesting, plenty of twists and turns. I wanted to give 4 stars, but it is so hard to ignore the errors.
This is the second in a series, and I generally don’t read the second book in a series. However, Ms. West’s first, I enjoyed completely.
Stevie, the main character, is free from confinement for crimes she didn’t commit. Coming out of a drugged induced environment, she returns to a comfortable situation but realizes that something is missing.
The world she was held in took something from her that is part of her existence. She wants to return to that parallel to get back what was taken from her. Her abilities are not fully developed, but she pushes on to her goal.
In her quest, Stevie comes in contact with others somewhat of her kind, one of which she has affections for, as he for her. But conflict does not slow Stevie from her goal.
Reaching her goal is near when the world is coming apart, and all is not well when this fast paced fantasy comes to an end that leaves open the door for the next in the series. Jane West leaves you wanting for more of this fantastic adventure of a young woman who metamorphosis into an Angel of another world.
