After her older sister refuses to go to an arranged marriage meeting with Takane Saibara, the heir to a vast business fortune, high schooler Hana Nonomura agrees to be her stand-in to save face for the family. But when these two utter opposites pair up, get ready for some sparks to fly!
Stripped of his wealth and now penniless, Takane has to learn to cope with being poor. He refuses any help from Hana, but she isn’t about to let him brush her off! Takane is as difficult as ever, but Hana sticks by him. Will she finally admit she has feelings for him?
This arc is definitely my favourite of the whole story but I am still iffy about the age issue. I feel like I’ll never truly enjoy the book like I did the first time because the minor and adult issue is more evident.
Hana is pressed into a marriage meeting with Takane, a scion of a business empire, impersonating her sister to save her father's job! Ready to put that fiasco behind her Hana is shocked that Takane actually seems interested in her! She is exasperated by his immaturity but intrigued despite herself at the fun she has as they try to outwit one another...
Takane & Hana vol 7 is the BEST VOLUME so far in this MOST EXCELLENT series! I love it when an author sets a character like Takane up beautifully and then tortures him... all for his own good. This is the payout we've been waiting for with these two. And its all thanks to Takane's grandpa. Hana has had come realizations of her own and its too cute to see her trying to hide it. She wants Takane to be himself again but she knows she'll never live it down if she slips up and reveals herself.
I loved how the plot went really intimate. (Not THAT intimate!!) These two soften their stances and allow a bit of what they feel to show... just a tad on Hana's part and in a major way for Takane. I won't give it away but needless to say for most couples this is a MEGA STEP! So I really loved how Hana reacted to it. It's the perfect reaction for a high school girl toward a man she likes but isn't ready to become super committed... Even though I feel like this entire volume was the two of them taking that next step in commitment.
The art is as good as ever, never fear, Takane & Hana vol 7 did NOT disappoint on the art front. In fact, I really appreciated that we got some of Takane's smug looks again. He is on the mend!! And Hana's angst over her realizations comes out in the art really cutely... who knew she was such a hard cookie?! Hahahah it's so great to see that side of her. And those moments with her dad... priceless the look on his face! He's so clueless...
I wasn't so much tense as on tenderhooks as to how Hana would crack Takane's shell. I think it really helped his secretary transferred to work with him. Yes, there are people out there who support you and not because of your money. That was a major deal for him... to find other ways than creepy expensive gifts to show he cares... and I loved that! This is a kind of tension that I could really get used to in Takane & Hana!
Takane & Hana vol 7 is such a gooooooodddddd volume! I love it when a character grows and changes and those that care have to decide if they will abandon or rise to the challenge with them. Takane and Hana really prove their OTP in arc and I can't wait to see how they progress from this turning point in their relationship!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Authenticity ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Tension ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Plot ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Art
Thanks to Edelweiss and the publisher for providing me with a copy in exchange for an honest review. It has not influenced my opinions.

Please like this review if you enjoyed it! *bow* *bow* It helps me out a ton!!
Genuinely my favourite volume yet, I really loved seeing how Takane and Hana's relationship grew and changed bc of the circumstances, it was really good!!
I was sure the story would pick up now but not yet. But that COVER, definitely my favorite so far!
For this volume, Takane still needs to cope with losing everything but now he has Hana's help, he seems in a much better state, almost his normal self.
Thanks to that, we had plenty of cute scenes, proving how their relationship has changed, especially when it comes to Hana's reactions to Takane. While this wasn't my favorite volume this was one that made me satisfied with the romance. There's a huge age difference and they're literally strangers to one another in the beginning, so it's always a tricky situation. From this volume, I could clearly see we've gone through the transition from strangers to a very intimate relationship, even if they're not officially in a romance.
More to the end, we get to see more of Nicola and Hikaru's plot, too. Personally, I care a lot more about the main couple, but they are cute. It makes me want to see Nicola break, am I too sadistic?
I know we still have a number of volumes to go, but I'd say the main plot is approaching climax, whatever Shiwasu has saved for us.
Honest review based on an ARC provided by Edelweiss. Many thanks to the publisher for this opportunity.
Storywise it's so good. I can't say anything else for fear of spoiling the whole story. The characters are all doing so well in their development. Takane needs some hugs (and yes, Hana, chocolate). The art is on point. On one of the author's notes it said they hired an assistant and I can tell it helped them out.
I need the next volume. I can't be left hanging like this.
This has to be one of my favorite covers to this series. I love love love the pink. Also the slow burn....it's painful but you totally get the slow pacing, especially considering their ages.
"Having feelings for someone means you always have something to worry about. And there are a lot of problems that come along with it."
I absolutely LOVE this quote!! While I definitely think it could fully wrap up all of romantic shojo manga, I think it really reflects having feelings for someone in real life too. Such a good good good quote!
Anyway, can I have a spin-off centering Mizuki and Nicola please?? Goodness, their "relationship" is so wholesome and sweet and has all of Mizuki's anxiousness about her feelings, but I love seeing it! I ship them the most in this series and will continue to hope that their ship sails by the end! (And maybe get a bonus chapter centered on them!? That would be awesome!)
It is so interesting seeing a much more mellow Takane. I like it! I think Hana realizing that during all this is when she fell in love with him makes it a lot more "probable" that they actually COULD become a couple. They definitely have got a longgggg way to go though! LOL!
But alllll their feelings were so beautiful to see unfold! Probably not the right word, but that special gift from Takane and seeing Hana be happy about their friends also worried for Takane really was everything. They have come SOOOOO far and honestly have no idea how it's going to come out in the open that Hana does indeed have feelings for him.
Also the bonus comics with Okamon and Nicola was hilarious! Plus the competitiveness Okamon has with Takane is everything! Goodness, I love his character so much!
I am loving this series so so so much! It has been an incredibly fun binge read!
I devoured the series over the course of a couple of months. Took a little longer than I hoped because a few of them decided to take forever from Amazon. Hana ends up roped into taking her older sisters place in a marriage match never expecting that anything would come from it. Instead a we get a very sweet comical whirlwind romance between her and Takane.
I ended up reading the first one and instantly ordering the rest of them it's such a cute series kind of a enemies to lover romance between them. I loved Hana she's an adorable character and I think because of her I'm going to do bubblegum pink hair next. Each manga has the pair growing as characters. Takane had a lot of growing to do but he get's there eventually.
The artwork is as equally lovely as the story. I was captivated right from the start and fell in love with Hana and Takane's story. This is one of my favorite series that I'm so glad I purchased the set. They will always have a special place on my bookshelf and I know they will get some re-reads as I wasn't ready to say goodbye just yet. I plan to read the authors other manga as I loved this one so much. Highly recommend a perfect sweet romance.
This was such a good volume in terms of realisation of feelings. Hana in this volume is so relatable, I absolutely loved her progression in realising her feelings for Takane. I can't wait to see how Hana acts in the next volume. I am becoming obsessed with this series and all I can hope for is the best for Takane and Hana's relationship.
There was so much character development in this volume, and I adore it. It's nice to see Takane & Hana have these moments of realization and see how that changes their interactions, while also seeing what remains the same between them. They aren't turning into different people--they are still themselves--but they are growing.
Okay, let’s get this out of the way. This is my favourite cover thus far! It’s absolutely gorgeous and and beautiful inside look to the vulnerability of the relationships situation. This volume had me laughing, crying and saying “aww!” a whole lot! I’m so excited we’ve got to have more of a look into Mizuki’s life and I’m so happy with how the main characters relationships are progressing.
I thought this series was so funny! The way Takane & Hana relate to each other is hilarious. The books get better and better. Can hardly wait for the next one.
Today's manga post is on Takane & Hana, Vol. 7 by Yuki Shiwasu. It is 200 pages long and is published by Shojo Beat. As it is the seventh volume in the series, you need to have read the first six to understand the story. The cover Hana and Takane looking very dramatic on the cover. There is no foul language, no sex, and no violence in this manga. The intended reader is someone who likes over the top characters and silly plotlines. The story is told from third person close mostly following Hana. There Be Spoilers Ahead. From the back of the book- Stripped of his wealth and now penniless, Takane has to learn to cope with being poor. He refuses any help from Hana, but she isn’t about to let him brush her off! Takane is as difficult as ever, but Hana sticks by him. Will she finally admit she has feelings for him?
Review- Takane is still learning how to live as as a normal person but he is getting back to his normal silly self. Hana is having to deal with the fact that she has grown to like Takane for himself. That unsettles her and that adds to the humor in this volume. But there is good character growth in this volume from both Hana and Takane, so that was enjoyable. But the plot is moving slowing in comparison to the character growth. I hope that we more plot in the next volume to add to the growth the characters have done in this one. More silliness to come!
I give this volume a Four out of Five stars. I get mothing for my review and I bought this manga with my own money.
Takane & Hana is currently the only ongoing shojo series from Shojo Beat and Viz Media that I'm keeping up with because it is hilarious and I love oblivious idiots in love trope from the main characters. Hana starts to realize how she feels about Takane and they start to bond more in this volume.
Takane is living alone in a regular apartment now instead of his life of luxury after his grandfather cut him off from his original lifestyle and transferred Takane to a small company. Hana is using this chance to teach him about the commoner lifestyle of bath houses and hotpots with tons of friends. There's also a cute Valentine's Day chapter at the end centering on Nicola (Takane's fashion designer friend) and Mizuki (Hana's friend) with some unresolved feelings and chocolate.
But in the midst of things Takane gives Hana
Overall, a very solid volume! I'm giving it 4 stars! It's a definite pickup if you're planning on buying several books in this series before Valentine's Day.
The plot is way more exciting now and Takane had so many cute moments in this volume! I love him.
I honestly think Nicola and the sister would be a much better match and make more sense. But I guess he also wants to be with a high schooler. I just don't think there's much chemistry between him and Mizuki. I can see why she would like him, but he has no reason to like her.
I think the worst of it all is realizing that these girls are all first years lol. Like they're so young. Ignoring it I guess. I'm laughing through it.
Takane is still dealing with his fall from grace, and Hana is determined to prove that she was never interested in him because of his money. Much to Takane's dismay, Hana continues to come over to his apartment, brings food, and cooks for him, "nursing" him back to "health" in a way. He's so sour about losing everything and having to work from the bottom that he won't even verbally spar with Hana, so how is she supposed to keep up her side of their arrangement? Slowly, Takane gets more confidence at work, along with an underling, and things start to look up for him. He learns about a sales commission available to him, so he starts working extra hard at his entry-level job. Eventually, he gets back to teasing Hana, but not before she's realized something about herself that could change their agreement!
After how strong last volume was, this one was a little bit of a let down. There was a lot of unnecessary repetition, especially when it came to the trains of thought and conversations Hana would have with herself. I was really hoping that this experience would change their relationship a little bit more, but it only affected a minuscule part, and Takane still seems to be completely absorbed by making and having money. We don't get any sort of introspection from him about how his time on "the bottom" has influenced him or made him appreciate what he does have - he's still just obsessed with getting back to the top.
This series continues to make me laugh out loud. But it also makes me think a little as well • The dynamic between all of the characters has changed so much and yet so little at the same time. • There was only internal conflict in this volume which I appreciated. However, I really hope things continue to grow and develop as the series goes on in a good way. Overall though, I still continue to love and enjoy this series. Because of these points, I have to give this a 4 out of 5
