Of all the boys I used to love, you are the one who broke my heart the most. For, of all the boys I used to love, you are the one I’ve loved the most.
Wren knows all about love, and it brings nothing but pain. She sees it every day on her father’s face as he watches her mother slowly dying, and has no power to stop it. So she wants no part of it. Yet, one Sunday evening as she’s sitting on her front porch, sipping sweet tea with her grandmother, the sound of loud rap music blasting through the neighborhood precedes the arrival of Amir Savage, who is moving in with his granny next door. He was tall and tatted and unlike anything the sheltered, church-going Wren had ever laid eyes on. And she fell in love with him on sight without even knowing it. But can a love between two people who are so vastly different ever survive? She’s all sweetness and innocence. He is violence personified; born and bred in the grit and grime of the bitter streets of New York. He is more accustomed to having people begging for forgiveness than getting down on his knees and praying for it. Though he does have a soft spot for the country girl, and no matter how much he tries to push her away, he can't seem to get her out of his mind. However, he knows that they don’t fit into each other’s worlds. But Wren knows that she loves Amir, and is willing to fight to be by his side. He’s the one who keeps lingering in her heart. Of all the boys she used to love.
This book was really good. I felt like I was watching a movie and that's always a plus. I loved the storyline, the characters, and everything about this book (im trying not to say much so I wont spoil it). Wren went through so much with her family and at the same time was young and trying to find her way as far as "love" goes. Amir was something else! But he was worth all the waiting. Wren and Amir's loyalty to one another was refreshing. I wish there was another book to keep up with these characters even though the ending was perfect.
This book was good and it had me glued to my kindle from the very first page. Wren and Amir was definitely made for each other. They had there up and downs but they gotten it together. I loved the friendship between Wren and Tilly they was always there for each other. I definitely recommend this standalone.
This storyline was so refreshing, not your typical bad boy meets good girl and ruins her story. It reminded me of summers in East Texas where everything was so simple lol! I loved this coming of age story for Wren and Amir. I love this author but this may be my fave from her.
Loved this book so much! Haven't read a lot of your work besides Heartbeat (I think that was the name) and I loved that book so much that I read it on Kindle unlimited first then brought it, now I'm about to do the same with this book 👍.
Out of all the book boys I’ve loved, Amir just may be one of my favorites ❤.
OOATBIL can be classified as a coming to age story. The book starts when the main character, Wren is the tender age of 14. We journey with the young girl as she finds love, experiences her first real heartbreak, and ultimately blossoms into a well rounded adult.
The book was simply refreshing. The book gave you an old Southern feel. Gossiping neighbors, troublesome new boys in town, state Barbeques, and a little love at first sight. A complete recipe for a good old fashioned romance.
It’s crazy because romance is the genre that I stay away from the most. We seem to get the same stories with the same plot. But this was different…Tugged at your heart. Made you remember your first love. Made you remember how you always thought your first love would be your last love. And finally reminded you that some stories, do have a happy ending. Overall, I loved the book. I got exactly what I was looking for & needed. And now this is one of my contenders for my best book of 2018. Thank you for a good read!
Now if you wanna give us a follow up with Maleek, I’ll be here waiting 🙂
This is my first book by this Author and definitely not the last. I was dedicating my next five to seven novels to New Authors and Standalone’s ONLY when I came across this one. It was so refreshing and by the end of the book the only thing that came to mind was that it was a comforting book. It was like it was wrapped around me in many different ways. I loved the setting of the book as well. It was Giving me An Affair in Munthill Vibes, but so different and unique. I loved the innocence that Wren had until Amir came along and brought about her rebellious side. I just loved this book. I thought the author did a great job at tying up loose ends and not over doing it....It was satisfying and ended perfectly.
This is my first time reading this author and I am going to try and get another one because that was a nice experience. Amir was just divine and so alpha, but not a bad ass because nothing was ever said of how he was rolling, while Wren, man, she was the perfect one for him... She was the epitome of "behind every good man, there is a great woman" and this is so true regarding Wren. The grandmas were hilarious and the town was just that "lucky ville" Overall I am going to definitely recommend this book and this author, I am going to follow her, and sign up to everything that involves her; this is how good this was.
This is my 1st time reading this author's work and I don't think it will be my last. I appreciate her taking the time to tell the story. Even when a length of time passed by (i.e 3years) she had a way of letting you what you 'missed'.
When I picked this book I was looking for something fresh and new. So many good girl meets bad boy books tell the same story with the same character descriptions in the same known cities. Not in this book.. in this book Ms. Lowe truly raised the bar.
This was so cute! First off, I bet all the little country towns this messy in real life lol #thedrama But, I enjoyed. I loved how it went through their journey, the ups and downs. It’s relatable because no relationship is perfect and you can’t help who you love. I enjoy books that allows us to see their growth. Tilley and Wren finally experienced their rainbows after all the rain. Great read.
This book was good. I loved to see how Amir and Wrens relationship evolved. I was happy to see that even though it wasn't what he expected, Amir was able to get closure with his mother. I'm glad Wren still went to school and didn't let her relationship deter her from her goal. We need a book about Tilly and Tookie. She also deserves her happy ever after.
A good book it too awhile to get good. I was glad Amir saved Wren from Bobby. Patrick was out of his mind. I felt bad for Tilly I thought it was her dad. Meek was in love with Wren. Who Nadia thought she was. Gran was A tripp. I enjoyed reading this STANDALONE BOOK
“You know, of all the boys I used to love, you’re the one who broke my heart the most. Because, of all the boys I used to love, you’re the one I love the most.” Fit perfect as this reads title. I must say I found this read to be sweet. It also was slow and drag alot. Overall a good love story.
This is one of the best books I've read in a very long time something different even i can relate to and I'm over retirement age! Growing up in the country and falling in love i just love ms Lowe writing this one a boy falls in love with a Country girl waiting for what next.
I think this is my first read from this author and I really enjoyed it. I wasn't sure what I was getting into for the first few chapters, but was quickly drawn into the lives of these characters afterwards and I really enjoyed the growth of Wren and Amir in addition to the supporting cast and their side story. Well done. I'll be reading more from this author.
Omg I love this Down to earth love story. Just Country and Amir was a thing I could feel as I being to read through my phone. I’m happy Tilly is Enjoy her life now sad thing about her mom and Dad. Lark is a mess will there be a story about them
Carry Girl You Never Let Me Down!!! You Truly Have A Gift! Wren & Amir Story Was Beautiful. Hopefully We Can See Maleek Find Love (Outside Of Lark) I was feeling bad for him
I really liked this coming of age story. It had its share of drama and suspense but there was never any doubt to Amir's love and devotion to Wren. We got a chance to see them grow from teens to adults. I look forward to reading more from this author!
This book was good. It took a while to really get going though. Once it got going there was so much happening. Nadia was the baby momma I can’t stand. I’m glad all’s we’ll that ends well.
I love when a writer gets the story right ,this was so good that you are going to love every moment. The writer gives us a story of friendship and young love that grows into a love that overcomes all obstacles. This is just good writing and it is so book club worthy.
This is my first time reading by this author and I have to say this book was amazing I love everything about it if you want a sweet love story this is the book to read I’ll recommend.
I crying real thug tears. This was a beautiful love story. With a lot of moving pieces, but they all worked well together. This author has the “it factor” And, I will definitely check out her other books.
A little different than what I usually read and I must say I am not disappointed. A great story with real life events. Amir and Country had no idea of the temptations of love and how no matter how hard you try it can not be denied. Yes, a great book. This book is a must read.
Aww 🥰 what a sweet story . I enjoyed this love story. Wren and Tilly had what I call a good old school childhood . I’m glad that Amir didn’t change Wren. She was that sweet innocent 😇 little girl who went through the good and bad . But got her happy ever after .🥰
This book was good from beginning to end. I wasn’t expecting it to be that long. If love makes me do some of the things that hAppened, then I don’t want it
