Title: Inspire Catholic Bible

Author: Tyndale Publishers

Genre: Catholic, Christian, Bible, Religious, Journaling, Art, Creative,

Plot: Studying our Bibles is something we are told to do and which we should do, as good and faithful Catholics. But in this busy day and age, we don't always have the time or inclination to do so. On top of that, there are so many other distractions demanding our attention that Bible reading can get a bit squished to the bottom of the priority list.

If there was a fun and creative way to study the Bible, many of us would happily sign up and hop on board. Enter the first ever Catholic journaling Bible! This unique creation combines the allure of popular adult coloring books and our own sturdy Bible to produce this lovely one-of-a-kind book where we can read the words of Scripture and use our God-given creativity to make a memorable keepsake. Studying the word of God just became our favorite activity of the day!

Likes/Dislikes: I'm not personally a big fan of the New Living Translation but I love everything else about this Bible! The cover is smooth faux leather in a gorgeous dusty rose shade. The inner cover is smooth and sturdy enough for colored markers to make an especially lovely beginning to this Bible and the interior pages are thin with a nice texture to them. They will not hold up to colored markers. The ink bleeds through very easily; I tested to make sure. Colored pencil works beautifully however so no worries there. I didn't try watercolor but I assume it would be too wet for the thin pages. The pages themselves alternate between a plain ruled writing space and a picture to fill in. Sometimes the picture is simply one word like faith or believe which isn't something I particularly like but that's okay. There's enough to doodle that a few stray repetitive words to color shouldn't be too bothersome. If anyone was wording, the words of God are not printed in red ink. All in all, a lovely gorgeous Bible!

Rating: PG-all ages but geared toward teens and adults

The first and only Catholic coloring Bible for all your creative reflections!

The majority of the Catholic Bibles around this house are pretty plain, so I was excited to find one with a bit of pizzazz.

This gorgeous book oozes personality and pizzazz, all right, even before you crack the thing open for the first time!

Despite the over-the-top girly-ness of those page edges, the rest of the outside keeps things subdued with its beautiful, metallic dusty rose cover that includes one of my favorite features in an interactive book like this that you're constantly reading: an elastic band to keep it all closed up nicely!

As you open the cover, you'll discover several pages filled with Scripture line-art illustrations to begin coloring right away.

Following the contents sections are notes introducing readers to the Inspire concept as well as a foreword that helps provide background into the book's New Living Translation.

The rest of the pages are filled with over 450 illustrations to color, two-inch-wide lightly ruled margins for notes and original art, and an 8.65-point font that is larger than that used in many other creative Bibles out there.

A ribbon bookmark tops off the features of this pretty Bible, along with an index of all the verse art that is found inside.

While the pages are printed on quality paper, you'll probably want to stick to colored pencils, as felt-tipped pens would probably bleed through.

This Bible would make the perfect gift for any woman who appreciates beauty and enjoys a bit of creativity with her devotional time.

I received a free copy of this product by Tyndale House Publishers in exchange for writing a review. All opinions are my own.

This is a beautiful Bible with lots of extras you expect from the Tyndale family of Bibles.  It's really beautiful on the outside with a rose gold cover and an elastic band for keeping it closed.  It also has beautiful decorations on the sides of the pages that include flowers and butterflies.

or those of you who don't know what a Catholic Bible is, it includes the additional books of the Tobit, Judith, Wisdom of Solomon, Ecclesiasticus (Sirach), Baruch (includes the Letters of Jeremiah), I and II Maccabees, and additions to Daniel and Esther. These books were eliminated from the Protestant Bible long ago, however, as a Lutheran, we also had these books in our Bible in a separate section, so I am acquainted with them.

Inside you'll find gorgeous artwork that you can color and enhance with your own style. Some are full page artwork as well as artwork in the margins. Plus, there is amazing artwork on the inside covers of this Bible. The margins are extra wide, too, which I love for making notes. There are plenty of these lined margins throughout for making your own notes about what you've read or special prayers.

This version is the NLT, which has become my favorite version. It's easy to read and accurate to the original Greek and Hebrew. It's a great Bible for the beginner Christian as well as the long time Christian.

This Bible would make an excellent gift for Christmas, birthday's or anytime.  It would also be great to buy for yourself! I love this Bible and think you'll love it, too.

*This Bible was provided to me by Tyndale. I received a copy of this Bible to review but I was not financially compensated in any way. The opinions expressed are my own and are based on my observations while reading this Bible.

I own the original Inspire Bible and the Inspire Praise Bible, so I was excited to see the Inspire Catholic Bible. It’s the only Catholic coloring and creative journaling Bible, and this NLT translation is officially authorized for use by Catholics.

Starting with the packaging, this is a beautiful Bible, though it is definitely geared toward females. The cover is a gorgeous metallic rose gold flexible, leather-like cover. The edges of the pages feature butterflies and flowers, also in pink (mainly). There is a ribbon bookmark and elastic closure band, which are very useful. At the beginning of the Bible, there is a section that explains the concept of Inspire, as well as information on the New Living Translation.

There are over 450 illustrations, and many pages contain two-inch-wide lightly ruled margins, perfect for taking notes or adding your own illustrations. The font is 8.65, which is a bit larger than the font in some jounaling Bibles. THE NLT version is quite easy to read and understand. However, the pages are quite thin, even when compared to the other Inspire Bibles. I found that taking notes with a pen created a bit of ghosting on the other side of the page. As a result, I would suggest using colored pencils, or perhaps crayons, for coloring. Other mediums (markers, paint, gel pens, etc.) could bleed through. (I didn’t try these other mediums based on how the pen showed through just in taking notes.)

Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy from the publisher, but I wasn’t required to leave a positive review.

The Inspire for Catholic Bible is a unique, creative, and interactive way to worship and study. Although I’m not Catholic, this New Living Translation is a wonderful way to spend time in God’s Word. (This Bible is considered a Catholic Edition due to meeting the requirements of Catholic orthodoxy.)

I love the beautiful line drawings to color throughout, allowing my creative juices to flow, and the ruled spaces for journaling or note taking.

My favorite part of this Bible is the flow of words. The phrasing is easy to understand and reads like a story—allowing my Scripture reading to be fluid, and eliminating the need to stop to look up words or meanings.

The Bible has a leather-like rose gold cover with an elegant debossed title and diagram of a dove. It has an attached ribbon bookmark, closure band, a lay-flat design, and an attractive cardstock slipcover.

I’m a creative person, so I love journaling Bibles and interactive worship tools. The NLT is an easy to read Bible translation that provides insight to many passages I’ve read many times but didn’t fully understand with other versions.

This is a lovely, creative, hands-on journal Bible.

An incredibly beautiful Bible! The first thing to catch my attention was the beautiful artwork which makes up the gilding on the page edges. The colors are beautiful and vibrant, and something you want to continue looking at, over and over. A sewn binding makes it especially durable, and should last through many years of daily use. The rose-gold binding and matching ribbon, along with matching elastic closure make it a keepsake of beauty that will be treasured through the years. Adding to it's beauty is the fact that it is published in the NLT (New Living Translation), which makes it easy to read and understand, and will draw one read and study God's Word on a daily basis. This Bible is truly a joy to look at, hold, and read. Well done, Tyndale House. This will quickly become a favorite journaling Bible. The illustrations are beautiful drawn, and will be a joy to color while meditating on the Word.
While Tyndale House provided me with a copy of this Bible to review, they have in no way attempted to influence my review. My review and praise of this beautiful Bible is freely and willingly given. Great job, Tyndale House!!
