This was a handy book to add to my physical practice library. Some of the exercises are nice and handy to use as simple, quick and easy somatic exercises for clients, some are useful for the therapist. I've used a few of these already - others I know will be of benefit, not all though.
Manuela Mischke-Reeds has pieced together a psychotherapy toolbox that is at hand readily and can be utilised without fuss for therapists. Anything that gives you more professional food for thought, something that can be added for a client's benefit, is a plus.
A helpful collection of introductory and detailed somatic exercises and education. Builds up in a great way and offers exercises for both the clinician and the client.
this was weird as an audiobook. on the one hand it was good for the guided practices, but some of the handouts or journal work was harder in this format. over a good introduction with practices for clients and practitioners but mainly just the tips without much background or science.
This is a very valuable book. It contains exercises to do with clients but also that can be done as a therapist. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to incorporating it into my practice.
I wanted an idea of what somatic therapy is like, and this gave me a good idea. Some exercises seemed more useful than others, but overall, I can see how this could be really helpful.
a great book of exercises for clients and for service providers on connecting to our bodies. Such a wide range of exercise - great ones to come back to. I want this book in my office.
