Το 18ο Συνέδριο του ΚΚΕ συνήλθε από 18 έως 22 Φλεβάρη 2009, στην αίθουσα Συνεδρίων των γραφείων της Κεντρικής Επιτροπής. Με απόφαση της ΚΕ του ΚΚΕ πραγματοποιείται η παρούσα έκδοση που περιλαμβάνει:

1. Την Απόφαση του 18ου Συνεδρίου «Εκτιμήσεις και συμπεράσματα από τη σοσιαλιστική οικοδόμηση στον 20ο αιώνα, με επίκεντρο την ΕΣΣΔ. Η αντίληψη του ΚΚΕ για το Σοσιαλισμό».

2. Την Εισήγηση και την Τελική ομιλία της ΚΕ στο δεύτερο θέμα.

Utterly predictable, basically a statement of the party's established positions, with just limited depth provided here and there to some factual issues of the USSR's development. Theory-wise it doesn't constitute a serious attempt with way too many counter arguments dismissed outright through them simply being considered wrong and with core ideas being neither introduced not discussed to depth. Some minimal treatment of the agricultural question and that of the state of production relations prior to the 20th Congress was interesting to see. Fairly unusually assembled too with issues discussed in the middle of the text being supplemented at the very end.

"Economic Problems of Socialism in the USSR" would be more productive read despite being 70 years old.
