With her little dog Muffin by her side and a much needed new friend in the form of Abby it does seem possible. That is until a not so ideal first encounter with the handsome local Laird of the Munro Estate sends her spiralling from young professional woman to hormonal bundle of goo. The chemistry undeniable but with him not seemingly on the market this might not be the place for her after all. Thrust into the world of not so quiet country living will Rose ever find true love? A roller coaster of emotions and a whole lot of country charm there’s one thing for sure Rose is certainly not going to be bored anymore!

Leanne Marshall is a Scottish-born and bred romance writer with more than average life experience. She has been a torrent of wild things, including a singer in a girl band, animal rights activist, and charity owner, worked on radio, and offered jobs on TV. A passionate, restless soul who has always found peace in writing, the only way to calm that fiery spirit. She uses her wit and dark humor to her advantage in her works and has been an avid reader for most of her life. Her influences vary, but from early life and a teen stint in journalism, she applies logic to most of her plot lines, is a confessed research fiend, and likes a lot of psychology behind her character's actions. She currently resides in Central Scotland with her two children and Fiancee of 13 years, making waves in the book world with her signature 'WTF moments' she likes to apply in each story, hints of humor, and devastating emotional rollercoaster rides. Quote from L.T. Marshall - 'Writing has always been an escape for me, loving that no matter what you are doing, where you are - you can create ideal fantasy and get lost in someone else's life. I love nothing more than drawing a reader with me on a journey that tortures your every emotion before the grand exhale.'
Good story. Huge ex other woman drama. No intimate scenes other than the Hero and heroine. Ex is drapped over him at times but he doesn't return her feelings or touch her back, she has issues and is struggling to accept it's over. HEA.

I absolutely love the Carrero series of books by this author, and so was eager to read Just Rose and I was not disappointed at all. Fabulous characters and an interesting storyline kept me gripped throughout the book. An extremely enjoyable read .
I was so, so excited when I was asked if I would like to be on the blog tour for Just Rose, I loved L.T. Marshall’s writing in the carrero series so I jumped at the chance.
Rose has decided she needs a change of scenery and moves to a little cottage in Scotland that was left to her by her late Auntie.
The action started straight away with Rob and Rose, you could feel the chemistry between them coming off the pages and was rooting for them instantly. Rose was firey and able to stand her own ground even when confronted by a tall well built Scottish man & I absolutely loved that she had no fear.
The development of the story was done in true L.T. Marshall style, as always she gives you a little bit of what you want & then takes it away again leaving you feeling bereft on behalf of her characters and constantly wondering what’s going to happen next.
I was slightly worried that Rob was going to be your typical alpha male character in a romance novel but you soon learn that’s not the case, although he’s all the best bits from an alpha male, there are so many different levels to his character. He’s kind, caring, a brilliant protector but also understands when people need a bit of space and knows when it back off.
This story had more elements than just a will they/ won’t they relationship with Rose and and Rob.
There’s Abby for a start, Robs younger sister and Rose’s new BFF, she brings an element of fun to the story wether it be through the teasing of her brother (and vice versa) or her amazing genuine take no bullshit attitude. I loved seeing her friendship with Rose blossom throughout.
There are also some darker elements to the story that bring out everyone’s true colours. I need more Rob and Rose in my life, this is the worst part of standalone novels.
Trigger warnings for self harm, mental health issues, manipulation and mental abuse.
I'm not surprised this book has 33 reviews. It was a fabulous read. I really enjoyed it and most of the time I became the main character and got to enjoy her lifestyle and the handsome Rob Munro.
How do write about a romance where two people just love each other without it becoming boring? Well, ask L.T. Marshall. Usually it is the chase, the conflict, and the getting together before the end of the book. Just Rose was so much more. I wasn't sure how I felt about Rose not being a fiesty, strong female. I'm used to heroines being stong. In real life though, it isn't always like that. Rose, when she can't deal with a situation, especially when it involved the gorgeous Rob, just had a melt down of tears. There were lots of tear tantrums, and after a while I got used to that side of her character.
She had a lovely sort of life after inheriting a pretty little cottage from her Aunt and decorates it making it a cosy place to live. As a talented illutrator, she also get to work from home and loves pink, has beautiful dresses and drives a pink car. The village she lives in is quaint with a super bakery that made the most delicious bread and cakes. (And she didn't appear to put on weight!) I found myself begining to envy Rose's life. I wanted to be Rose, and I could be her be in the pages of this story!
Then she meet the handsome Rob, who has fire in his eyes when his emotions smoulded. He was the laird of the manor, everyone knew him and his family. Abby, his sister, becomes her best friend. They have girly nights and days together. There are parties in which Rose becomes hopelessly drunk, and you are with her every step of the way!
I am a fan of this author’s Carrero Series, one of the best romance series I have ever read, and thought it was time that I read her first book that she published, Just Rose.
In true Marshall fashion, she sucked me into this story of Rob and Rose, the two meet in an almost car accident and the fireworks begin!
I enjoyed reading the story of these two love birds and the trials and tribulations they had to deal with while trying to start a relationship. The detailing of the scenes in this book are amazing and draw you in so much that you can visualize the different scenes happening in the book as you turn page after page! It has romance, it has suspense and definitely has some epically written drama!
For all of those that love a little spicy romance I recommend you try this one out and if the Author happens to see this, if you ever think about revisiting the Munro family I am sure that I will be reading it upon its release!!!
This rang so many bells to her other books, the similarities weren't lost on me. The same drama same passion and firery characters. Like a carrero series crammed into one book. I loved it. I also enjoyed that the roles were more re vursed that Rob had the insecurities and hang ups Rose the more level balanced one. And Abby reminded me of the author herself straight up no messing say it how it is with a dark humour. I'd recommend this too anyone who has read The carrero series or even if they haven't this would certainly make them want too. Pink girly fluffy hearty earth shattering romantic raunchy with a smidge of humour.
A fun light romance. Rose inherits a small cottage in a small village. The romantic setting is so well described that I felt like I was there with her throughout the book. I loved it and read it in two days!
I have been able to put the book down. There were so many times I kept saying to myself just one more chapter, but it never happened. Love reading lt marshalls 's books, a lot of WTF moments. Thank you for another AMAZING read!
Rose has just moved into her cottage when she has a run in with the arrogant Laird. She doesn't like him but is soon best friends with his sister. They say it's a fine line between love and hate, soon Rose learns just how fine. There's just one problem though, Morag. Her hold over Rob may be enough to come between them.
This was a long story and I worried at the start it would drag a little but it doesn't at all. The story develops steadily but with enough happening to keep me interested. The story was good and I really enjoyed it. The ending was perfect too. I loved all the drama with Morag it added a clever twist. The only thing I wasn't keen on was how often Rose got drunk but that's just a personal opinion. A lovely romantic story.
I really liked Rose, she was a good lead and had her own little flaws that made her so relatable. I liked Rob too.
This book painted the picture of a romance worth fighting for. It was very well written and the beauty of description has me at a loss for words. A beautiful book to read curled up on the couch with a blanket and hot chocolate.
I never normally read stand alone novels, but this one I adore, the characters are easy to connect with and the emotional roller coaster it takes you on is out of this world, it’s completely changed my mind about stand alone novels.
I'm not quite sure what I was expecting with this book, but when I got wasn't quite it. The book review site where I got it from stated it was a small-town romance and chick lit. I was curious to see which way it would lean more, as I find that chick lit is often more of a romance with an unhappy ending.
The book was slow to start, detailing Rose’s move to her aunt’s old cottage in the Highlands of Scotland. While she was from Edinborough originally, she had spent the last six years in London pursuing her career. She used to enjoy the visits to her aunt's cottage when her family vacationed there, so her aunt left it to her. She soon meets the local laird in a near traffic accident. What follows is a strange romantic triangle, where she and the laird develop an intense attraction to each other, but he is bedeviled by his ex-girlfriend whom he believes is a danger to herself. In fact, he makes Rose secondary in his life to placating this ex-girlfriend. Things at the end of go completely psycho, which I was not expecting.
In the end, I didn't really find this romantic much at all. I thought the hero was a bit spineless where the ex was concerned, and Rose should have given him his walking papers instead of sleeping with him right at the start! The book is overly long and at times repetitious. I do understand Rose’s confusion and hurt, but going over and over everything again and again was a bit much. I didn’t get the sense of rising action and progressive complications that would have made this interesting.
I didn't appreciate either the multiple digs at Americans and “Yanks.” I would think the author would know that there are a lot more Americans who have the potential to buy her book then Scots, so why would she shoot her own foot and annoy a potentially vast audience? While Americans are only peripherally mentioned or briefly shown, it is never a good light. I find myself wondering if the author just has a bias against Americans or if it does reflect the Scottish small-town mentality.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
First off look at that cover! How can you resist? I couldn't. I was not disappointed, even though this is not my usual type of book. The author has a way of bringing not just the main characters to life, but the setting of the small Scottish village and laird manor. and the side characters. You end up feeling like you are part of the wacky community. I went through all the emotions whilst reading this book and for me, I need that in a book. There is plenty of laugh out loud moments as well. It really is a cozy sweet romance. It also covers issues of mental health in a delicate way that some books do not, which i appreciate. I could not put the book down and will definitely be rereading to revisit my favourite characters again. I felt the pacing was good, which is usually one of the issues i have with this genre and I really like the author's style of writing. I hope she writes more books like this.
I really loved this book. I am a Carrero series junkie and although totally different, Just Rose is equally as addictive, it’s the way LT Marshall writes them....exceptionally well. Rose and Rob meet on a quiet road in the remote highlands of Scotland and their attraction is instantaneous if a little volatile. Rob is Laird of the town that Rose has inherited a cottage in. As Rose realises her hostility to Rob is something more, Rob reveals something of his past that means they cannot be open in their attraction. Can Rose live with the secrecy in order to be with Rob? Will Rob’s past ever let him go? Highly recommended 5 star read.
The book was good if you like women who rely on their man. For me Rose was much too weak and weak willed. From the description of her at the beginning i was convinced she would be stronger however that was not the case. Rose is beautiful and Rob is handsome and their love for one another is moving. If you enjoy lots of gushy love and cuddling then i definitely recommend this book! Well written, the author creates an in depth world with amazing description. She paints the entire picture of this town and what Rose’s life is like in it.
What a brilliant funny, sexy and heart wrenching book this is . I fell in love with the characters almost immediately and really felt like I was transported to into some of the scenes . Like the ball and summer fete. I. Swore I could smell candyfloss at one time . This author is an amazing writer , she has a the ability to throw a spanner in the works without you even knowing one is coming . I would highly recommend this book . I didn't give it 5 stars because I wanted to read another 500 pages with the hero and heroine of the story . Xxxx
Just Rose is the first book I have read by L. T. Marshall and it is wonderful romance that offers lots of charm, deep emotions, humor and sweetness. This is Rob and Rose story and I love both of these characters so much. Their attraction was strong and their chemistry generated lots of sparks. The storyline was engaging and fun but offers a solid amount of drama and emotional turmoil as this couples relationship evolves into more than they ever imagined.

This book was hard for me to get into and had a hard time holding my interest throughout the story, hence the 3 stars. This is a story of Rose whose life is pretty much uneventful so when her aunt passes away she moves to her cottage in the country. She just wants to find her place in the world but can she do that in the country lifestyle away from everyone in the city? An encounter with handsome Laird of the Munro Estate makes Rose realize that maybe she will find someone.

A great book from a fantastic author. L.T.Marshall has a writing style that just sucks you right into the book and makes you feel part of the story. A feel good love story that has a few twists and turns and also deals, very delicately, with mental health issues. This book made me laugh out loud in places and in others I was in tears, all the while wrapping itself around me like a warm hug.
As always L.T. Marshall doesn't disappoint.. Although this book is written differently to the Carrero Series (less steamy and sex scenes) it is still a captivating read that one just can't put down. The male character Rob is a strong character and the story is absolutely beautiful... Love the fun nature of Abby, the way Muffin contributes to the story, and the softer nature of Rose.... Well done Leanne!
Great romantic read but with the added element of mental health awareness which gave the story more depth than your average chick lit book. The author is especially good at creating a scene...now want to own a cottage in the Scottish highlands and live next to a Laird of the manor!! Great characters with Abby and Muffin the dog being my favourite!!! Really enjoyed reading this one X
This is another great read. If you love a good romance with a little twist, then you'll love this. It keeps you on your toes wondering if Rose aka Penelope and Rob will ever admit their true feelings. It will make you laugh and cry. Don't forget to check out L.T. Marshall's other books : The Carrero Series.
This is about Rose and Rob and how they meet and how their relationship develops and the other characters along the way involved in their life's. This is a rather long book and I feel that it could have been shortened.

Loved this cosy heartfelt story with spikes of drama and twists to keep you engrossed. Set in a scenic village with loveable characters with fire you sides. Starting any of L.T Marshalls book at night ends with you awake until the early hours.
The book is a good small town romance read. The story has a good story line. The characters are good, and they have good chemistry. The story is an enjoyable read.
