Six months have passed since Magneto fought side-by-side with Professor X and his Children of the Atom to rid the world of Apocalypse. In that time much has changed in the nation of Genosha, the island given to the rule of the Master of Magnetism. The fight against Apocalypse cost the world a huge price, one that has shaken not only the X-Men but their deadliest enemy as well. And now, those who once worshipped Magnus have betrayed everything that he's fought for. A splinter group known as the Heretics appear to be powered by someone lurking in the shadows of the wartorn country, but who? Magneto's salvation may lay with Polaris, but will it cost Lorna Dane her soul? And what happens when one of Magneto's super-powered extended family joins the struggle?

It took me a few days to realize that the "dark seduction" the title is referring to is probably Magneto seducing Polaris. There was a single thought bubble in this first issue in which Pietro wonders if there is something "between" Magneto and Lorna. At the time this came out, Polaris was no relation to Magneto whatsover, and she and Pietro pretty much only knew each other as teammates on X-Factor. (The good old days.)
Of course, a few years later there was a retcon making Lorna Magneto's daughter. So while all they really do in this miniseries is cohabitate and share control over magnetic forces... It's still gross.
Otherwise, this silly little miniseries is just about Magneto's family trying to rule Genosha. There are some Acolytes, some Magistrates, and an appearance by the Avengers. If there is a hero of this miniseries, I guess it's Pietro?
The X-Men creative team is drawing on Magneto as ruler of Genosha for a lot of stories, and most of them are pretty decent, as is this one. Involving characters from Genosha, obviously, and characters from the Magneto family, this story promises another crucially detailed conflict that features Genosha. Perhaps because it wasn't that good, but so far this series ignores the recent story with the High Evolutionary in X-Men. Still, I'll give this series a chance, as I don't remember reading it before.
