Men Without Hearts

Rate this book
Men Without Hearts is a collection of poems about the unspoken heart wrenching phase men go through after an unsuccessful relationship crumbles to the ground. Men are not known to show emotions. Men who can comprehend pain and assimilate it but refrain from expressing it can understand what it means to become a man without a heart.

Loved the cover and the title. However it also set expectations in my mind that quite frankly weren't there. I expected to read a different perspective coming from a guys point of view about why men are heartless and I guess, I just didn't find what I was looking for. There were many short poems/micropoems that were very well written and held a good punch. However, I think this would have done better if the author spent more time building up the story and aligned the artistry with the poems. Maybe added more long form and imagery would have tugged on all the feels. Love the author and his attempt on this collection it just wasn't what I expected.
