To Hell and Back: An Autobiography of an International Football Player

Rate this book
What started out as a dream for pro football player, Errol Stevens, became a nightmare. Errol faced Racism, Struggles with injuries, and difficulties with family and life. But after so many roadblocks in his life, having left Jamaica in 2013 with $50 to his name and having to start over in some of the worst conditions, Errol is now married with children, owns his own home and car and wants to use his experiences in life to motivate other young boys from his homeland, Jamaica, and around the world that they too can acheive success and realize their dreams with hard work, determination and a healthy dose of endurance.

Errol Anthony Stevens could have been what Pele was for Brazil; and what Maradona was for Argentina. There is no doubt about his talent, but as life would teach him, talent is just a small percentage of what you need to succeed in life. Sometimes you also need to be born in a football nation. Errol’s Struggles are real and what he has done to overcome the ghetto streets of Jamaica are nothing short of success. Errol defines Success as not giving up on your dreams. He believes it is possible to experience Heaven here on earth, but we must first change our perception and find our way back to loving each other. To Hell and Back is Errol's story of his journey from obscurity to prominence.

It was fine. An bit of a different autobiography as they're not a household name, and not a world star, but a quick read touching on his life in Jamaica, Thailand and Vietnam. Definitely has a high opinion of his footballing skill, but I guess that's what you need as a footballer!
