*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.

Another mind blowing installment in this amazing series!! Violence is being held by her father while he conducts crazy experiments. Her guys are busy scrambling to find her using all means they can think of even if they may not be a good idea. There is all kinds of amazing things happening in this book which makes me wonder where the author gets her incredible ideas. With the way this ended I cannot wait for the next one!! I loved it so i give it 5/5 stars.

This continuation of the Severed Souls series picked up where the first book left off, following Vi’s disappearance with her crazy father. Trapped in an unknown place with him, her evil sister, and the insane Jeriko, Violence is being injected with something bad- something that makes her forget, but is supposed to help her father gain some power. She’s all alone, until Nollix and Link find their way back to her!

Darkness Consuming is an exciting story that furthered the overall plot of the series and allowed Violence’s relationships with the guys to grow... Nollix in particular :) I love their relationship and how they’re both pretty tough, closed off people but together they can really be themselves and be honest and open. We don’t get to learn too much more about Cameron, but Link gets the chance he’s been waiting for with Vi!

I’m really loving these characters and their story. It’s a fresh take on fae fiction and I can’t wait to see what happens in the final book!

So confused! Characters have no common sense.

So I started reading the first book and the idea was really great so I kept going to try to figure out what’s going to happen and which guys she’s going to end up with, but then as the book kept going they started doing stupid crap like having sex in the next room where the evil king is trying to kill them like dumbasses!!
I reluctantly started on the second book just to see what would happen after the cliffhanger and the story starts to become this jumble of information that happens so quickly, it doesn’t make any sense.
The author could’ve spent a lot more time thinking these details through, considering she was so excited to get this book released. The books are incredibly too short, averaging at only 160 pages and I think she released them too early. I will not be reading the third book. This is the second book I’ve read from this author, only to be disappointed again, so I’ve learned my lesson.

Spoiler……
………..
………..
The continuation of the wild hunt in Darkness Consuming is just as engrossing as the first book. Violence continues to try to defeat her Father. Discover what he wants with all the souls The Wild Hunt has been collecting. When of all people, Nollix, goes to all lengths to find her. Poor Linkin has to sit and wait while Nollix is able to connect with her, wherever she is. Then they discover where she is. Now they have to save her as well as put a stop to her father. In the process of all of this, Violence begins to connect with all the men in her life. She discovers how isolated she has been and now…how much she comes alive when they all touch her in their own ways. Fabulous second book. Definitely, a must read. Eagerly awaiting the final book for this series.

Violence needs to pick and choose her battles and right now she’s not strong enough to end her father.

She wakes not knowing where she is all she knows she has been separated from Link, Nillox and Cam and she doesn’t have access to her powers. More concerning her father, sister and Jeriko have been studying the book of Severed Souls; her father is prolonging is life with the souls the Wild Hunt have reaped and now experimenting on Violence.

She needs a plan to end her fathers diabolical plans whatever they maybe and get the heck out of dodge before she loses her marbles. If it wasn’t for Nillox she may become more like the Mad King than she realises.

Again well written continuation from the last book. We see the characters develop more and in particular Nillox and Violence’s feelings for each other. Oh and yet another cliffhanger 😊

Sorry but I’m not going to give away any spoilers of any kind because I’m not the type that does that.
So this is all I’m going to say about this book and that is I thought it was absolutely amazing.
This book basically picks up where book one leaves off. I enjoyed the story-building and the world created here.
A K Koonce definitely knows how to hook her readers and take them on an exciting ride.
So yes I most definitely recommend this book to anyone who’s interested in crawling into this story and getting lost within its pages. But if you haven’t read the first book then I highly suggest that you do otherwise you’ll get probably get a little confused as to who’s who and what’s what.

Love this series!

In the second book of this series, Violence must bend to her mad fathers experiments from the book of severed souls in his hunt to obtain immortality. Finally some super steamy scenes with fierce Nollix and feels are revealed, when Nollix does anything to save Violence from her father. Nollix and Linkin come to Violence’s rescue and breaks down some of her walls.

I received an Advanced copy of this book in return for an honest review. And honestly I cannot recommend this book enough and I would read it no matter what.

Great fast read

Went through this whole thing in a blink of an eye. I truly wish it was longer. I need me some more dose of Lynx and Nollan. Cameron is growing on me, but his motives are still suspect at best for now. Also, what a turn of events. I seriously thought her father would be the ultimate bad guy on this. Guess it makes sense in the end. And that ending?! Ummm at the edge of my seat waiting impatiently for the next one to arrive already!!

This book was amazing.

I am really enjoying this series, this book was just as good as the first one, if not better. I love the twists and turns this book takes there is so much excitement and emotion. The characters relationships are growing and I like the progression and the speed of it, there is still the be character I am not sure what is going to happen with, but it will be fun to find out. Another wonderful book from A.K. Koonce.

Suspenseful and interesting

For some reason Violence's situation is more chilling than expected. To be forced to take an unknown substance from a needle and then not know what happened afterwards is a nightmare for me. I would quickly lose my mind and Violence is feeling just like that. I love that her men find a way to be with her. Besides the cliffhanger I find this short novel to be suspenseful and interesting.

What an exciting and captivating second book in this series by the talented AK Kroonce. This is a quick read but as soon as I started reading it i was fully invested in the story and Violence. I loved the screens between Vi and Nollix..he is so good in this book, it is great to read about Vi from his POV!! Jeriko and Amandria are a deadly combination and it will be interesting to see how this plays out in book 3! It is great that Vi is back with her guys and I am interested to see how they connect in the next book! Highly recommended series...bring on book 3!!

This series is a must read!

I would give more than five stars if it was possible. This is an amazing series and I love the characters. Even though this is fiction the characters personalities seem so real that I even had a few laughs at some of their words and thought process. My only complaint is that I didn't want it to end!!

To short

This book was way to short , no world building or character building or depth, need more It just rushed though and was like let see how many naked sevens I can put into a 150 page book if that. Please please take your time in the next book and describe more about their world. Disappointed.

Once again, A.K. has created a completely amazing work of art.
I love the character of Violence, and I have since the first book. But this book finally gives us a look at Nollix, and all I can say is that I was not disappointed.
I don’t want to give away any spoilers, but I truly enjoyed this quick read, and I absolutely recommend it.

What a great second book from A.K. Koonce! I received this as an ARC. Following where we left off with the Mad King taking Violence away from the guys. We learn what the Severed Souls book and the King has been up too. We get some time with Nollix finally!!! Can't wait for book three!

Getting better

I want sure if i wanted to continue after the first book. It was a quick read and I liked the characters but not as much as other books I've read. I'm glad I kept going, the story picks up more in this book and I'm looking forward to reading the next one.

Violence and the wild hunt continues to try to defeat her father. who is living up to his name of the mad king. Thru it all she starts to develop a stronger connection to the men in her life and seems to see that her self-isolation was not needed all along.

Alright, occupied my mind for a time.

I now don't have any hope for more world building or character development but for someone that wants an easy read and something to keep their mind a bit occupied then this book will do it for you.

Just shy of 4 stars, this was a definite improvement but I really do think this series would have benefited from being a single instalment rather than a collection of shorts.
