The book of Luke is beautifully depicted with images that invoke thought and conversation. So you don't just sit with the text, you are instead invited to meditate on it and think about it. And I so appreciate that!

The book of Luke is a great addition to my ever-growing collection by Alabaster Co. I just love how Luke recorded the incident of a woman coming to pour perfume on Jesus’s feet. But Luke was the only gospel writer to point out the fact known to all present that she was an immoral woman (Luke 7:37). In a similar way, we find in Luke alone the conversation between the robbers crucified alongside Jesus, one of them defending Jesus and receiving the promise of paradise. Luke’s portrayal of Jesus reveals in our Lord a man come to minister and show compassion to all people, no matter their station in life. This book is so relatable and so relevant to our everyday life in how we live out the Gospel!

Personally this book has allowed me to dive in deeper in God’s Word, enhancing my daily readings and devotional time. 2020 has been a difficult year. Alabaster is here with some literal Good News. They are releasing a new edition of their Gospel of Luke - and it here to heal.

Joyful and Energetic

Alabaster has enhanced their iconic aesthetic. This second edition features a new distinct cover, color story, and includes a wider range of global artists. The yellow field image on the cover, and the echoes of it throughout the book, make for a joyful and energetic mood.

Described as a perfect paperback, this book is softcover, 120 pages, perfect bound, and printed in full color on uncoated paper in Canada. The dimensions are 7.5 in x 9.5 in. It uses the NLT translation, which is excellent for this type of reading experience.

Worship Him with Great Joy

The yellow used throughout made me dwell upon what it means to give, and how we can be free to love because of the joy we have in God. Jesus has drawn near to us, and he is warm, gentle, and kind.

Many of us are carrying our burdens. We walk with physical, emotional, and spiritual scars. Our wounds are real, but Jesus is here to heal. Read this and worship him with great joy.

I came across Alabaster on Instagram and was instantly impressed with their stunning Bible books! They have taken the book of Luke (word for word) and have added beautiful photos to create memorable imagery to go along with what you’re reading.

I love the clean and minimal aesthetics of this book. I have the entire set of Alabaster’s other books and they are a wonderful conversation-starter on my coffee table. I highly recommend them and have purchased several Bible books for my friends as well!

My favorite part about Alabaster is their ability to draw your attention to the Word through aesthetic imagery. The Word itself is already powerful, but to add imagery stimulates reflection and imagination. The pictures are vivid yet peaceful as you read the simple and clean text of the book. The book of Luke helps me to reflect on the life of Christ and His ministry. This book looks lovely on my coffee table and makes a statement in my home. It connects to visitors and becomes a conversation topic to our friends and family.

I love the idea of reading the Bible like this. The prose / retelling is short and sweet. The pictures are stunning. What a wonderful keepsake for a bookshelf.
