Gunslinger by Michelle Lowhorn is such a superb story, I was truly blown away. Within minutes of starting this book I knew I wasn’t going to be able to put it down till I had finished reading the entire story. It not only captured my mind with the exceptionally well written, fresh and scintillating storyline- but had seduced my heart with the wonderful romance that unfolded as the story progressed. This romance has a historical Wild West overtone to it, and there is a subplot within the story that is very suspenseful and brings a lot of action and intensity to the whole book.
Tyler Wilson is only twenty-nine years old and has been left with four children to care for, when his wife dies suddenly. The ranch owner’s hands are so full taking care his young family that he doesn’t have enough time to take care of business on the ranch- like the crops that need attending, cattle to herd, animals to feed and barns that need mucking out. In way over his head, he sends for a mail order nanny. She has all the references and experience necessary to take good care of his children, so he can concentrate on running the ranch.
He arrives at the train station to pick her up and can’t believe his eyes. He had been expecting a very plain, older woman to step off the train. Instead he finds a stunning, breathtaking beauty- with the most beautiful violet eyes he’d ever seen. The attraction was overwhelmingly powerful and instantaneous. He was going to have to keep reminding himself that she was there to take care of his children; she definitely wasn’t there to warm his bed.
Josephine Hill (JoJo) steps off the train and is mesmerised by the incredible specimen of manhood before her. He is just gorgeous. He has four adorable little children with him and appears to be a great father- loving, kind and affectionate. They definitely need her help though and she doesn’t want to let them down.
But JoJo and Tyler both have secrets that have yet to come to light and danger seems to be stalking them both. What secrets have they kept hidden? What happens when the secrets are revealed? What dangers await them? Can they thwart the danger, before it’s too late? Will their future be found together, or will fate intervene?
Wow! This is a really delightful story and a little different to what I have been reading lately- it was light, refreshing, romantic, and funny- and the sizzling chemistry between Tyler and JoJo intensified as the story progressed. The author did a fantastic job of creating this tension between them, because it was palpable.
The characters are incredible, fully developed and very endearing- I was completely taken with them and became emotionally invested in them and the story. Tyler is divine- a wonderful man and father- caring, considerate, respectful and so very sexy. JoJo is smart, sweet, kind and determined- she is also quite funny. The children are just adorable. I laughed out loud at some of their antics, and thought they were completely charming. Hazel and her family are a wonderful addition to the story. She’s so lovely, friendly, helpful and proficient at all tasks. She’s a really great friend to have in your life. I wanted to join the ladies at the table, chatting and drinking sweet tea. The baddies are quite detestable and I really wanted to see them get what they deserve!
The story has a fast pace and flows smoothly. It is a quick, easy read- I was so engrossed in the story, that I read it in a few hours. I finished it feeling happy and satisfied- as the author did a wonderful job of wrapping up the story and I love the way she it ended.
This is the first book that I have read from this author and it definitely won’t be the last! I really can’t wait to read her next book!
I am in love with this book.

Thank you Ms. Lowhorn!

She knows Frederick will not rest until he finds her, using whatever means he can. When she finds a six year old asking her if she is her new Nanny, Josey finds herself answering the little girl that she is indeed her new Nanny. She jumps at the chance thinking Frederick's men will not notice that she slips past them and out of town. When she meets Tyler there is instant attraction for both of them.
Right from the start Josey realizes she is in way over her head. She is from wealth and used to people waiting on her not the one waiting on people. She is struggling to keep up with the cooking, cleaning and caring for the children. Caroline who is six is the most observant, is the biggest help to Josey. Soon Josey meets her neighbor Hazel who after some help from her learns how to run the day to day operations of the ranch. Josey soon finds herself loving the children like her very own. They each have their own personality and sometimes it is just hilarious what comes out of their mouth.
Both Tyler and Josey have their own secrets, danger seems to be coming at them from everywhere. What will happen when their secrets are revealed. Will they be able to have a life together they just found, or will Fredricks men catch up to her and try to take her away. It seems that their only chance is to hire a gunslinger. But what will happen after, will they both forgive and forget or will they have to walk away from each other.
This was a great book, my first from this author who did a fantastic job.

GUNSLINGER
AUTHOR: MICHELLE LOWHORN

FIVE STARS

GUNSLINGER is the first book by Michelle Lowhorn I have read, but it definitely won’t be my last. I was immediately captivated by the cover and couldn’t wait to jump inside. He reminded me of a gorgeous, young Clint Eastwood. I was pleasantly rewarded when I started reading this brilliantly written story. GUNSLINGER will break your heart, keep you amused, make you believe in happily ever after, and then break your heart again. Michelle has a wonderful talent for bringing a historical romance to life. Once you start reading it, you won’t want to put it down, so make sure all your errands are done, and settle down for a great romance that takes you back to a simpler time of church suppers and ranch life.

Tyler Wilson is a hardworking, twenty-nine year old cattle farmer. When his wife, Cora, dies suddenly in childbirth, he is left to care for their four young children – all under the age of 7. Devastated by his loss, trying desperately to take care of the children and manage his large ranch, he realizes that the task is more than he can handle alone. In a desperate act he decides to send for a mail order nanny to help him with the children.

When Miss Josephine Hill departs the train, Tyler is not prepared for the young beauty. Josephine was highly recommended for the position, but he assumed she would be older. From the first moment they met, they both knew that there was an attraction between them. The more time they spent together, the deeper the attraction became. Of course, there are always complications in every great romance, and Tyler and Josephine are getting ready to discover theirs. The twists and turns and ups and downs threaten to destroy their relationship. You will have to read the story to find out what happens next, but be sure you do. It is definitely worth the read.

Gunslinger by Michelle Lowhorn is a four star novel. Tyler is a twenty nine year old rancher. He hasn't always been a rancher, but has been successful at it for several years now. Cora, his wife, is pregnant with their fourth child. He inherited the ranch from Cora’s father by marrying Cora. He knew he needed to leave his old lifestyle behind and thought this was a perfect opportunity. They didn't love each other, but he hoped they would grow to love one another as the years go by. When Cora goes into labor, Tyler can hardly wait for his next child to be born. After hours of waiting, the midwife sends for the doctor. A little while after the doctor arrives, Tyler is shown his new baby girl. He knows from the look on the doctor’s face that something went wrong. As he holds his new baby, he learns that his wife has passed away. Now he needs to figure out how to run the ranch and take care of four small children at the same time. He knows he will need more help than the neighbors can give him so he sends for a mail order nanny. After corresponding for several weeks, he decides to have a woman named Josephine Hill come to stay with him. He really hopes she will work out and the children will like him. When they get to the train, Caroline, the oldest child at six years old, asks around to all the women she sees to find Josephine. Once she is located, Tyler cannot believe his eyes. She is young and beautiful. Tyler sure hopes she works out. When heard times befall them both, they will need to stand together to get through it.

4 Stars
Gunslinger by Michelle Lowhorn , was the first book I've read by this author and I was pleasantly surprised when she was able to draw me in, even in the midst of the bittersweet opening scene, and keep me wanting more! Told in Dual Pov of Josephine and Tyler, the main characters of this story.
Set in the past of covered wagons, Tyler and his children experience the worse tragedy that can happen at a time that's supposed to be a celebration. Raising his 4 children on his own, he waits for the new nanny at the train station. When the seem to find her, it turns out she isn't as experienced as her letters said she was. But when she comes clean, Tyler isn't even that angry as he's instantly smitten with her. Dealing with a criminal neighbor trying to take his land and trying to protect the nanny from the gunslingers she says are after her, can he make it all work?
Adelaide, otherwise known to the family as Josephine, is on the run. When opportunity knocks she goes with the flow, until she's caught but she's already in love with the family, even the smart mouthed little boy Caleb. When the man she's running from finally finds her, will she be able to stay or be forced to go?
I enjoyed this story from the humor, to the sad parts and even the somewhat nail biting parts. This was fast paced and an enjoyable read.

This is a story is a Novella. It's short but fun to read, when you have a short time to fill.

Tyler Wilson is a new widower, with 4 children under the age of 7. He is also the owner of a large Texas cattle ranch. When his wife dies during childbirth. He is alone to raise his young children, as well as care for the Ranch and cattle. Therefore he looks into a mail order nanny.

Miss Josephine Hill is highly recommended and experienced. In the letters sent between them, she seems perfect. She is quite beautiful and not the nanny Tyler expected. As she is clueless as to what needs to be done.

Michelle Lowhorn tells her story fully. Such a fun story to read. While there is trouble on the ranch, things go downhill rather quickly. This is a real page turner. You won't be able to put it down. What a fun Western Romance. Job well done Michelle Lowhorn.

This is the first book I have read from this author and I loved every minute of it. This is a stand alone. This author took me back to the past and I enjoyed the ride. I could not put this book down. It only took me a day and half to finish this book.

This story starts out with a hot cowboy Tyler Wilson. He has the perfect life with his wife and his beautiful kids until the something bad happens that will change his life forever. He is only twenty nine when he finds himself to be a widow. He losses his wife unexpectedly. He now has to take care of his four kids that are under ten. He has a lot to do in a day. He is a ranch owner and he knows that with kids and a ranch he is over his head. Tyler reaches out for help from a mail order nanny. He knows that this is the best thing for him and the kids to get some help.
When he gets to the train station his life changes. He was thinking that he was meeting an older spinster woman but when he sees the stunning woman in front of him he can't believe his eyes. Tyler is mesmerized by the beauty that is before him. She is a stunning young woman not the old woman he thought he was getting.
She is breathtaking especially her eyes. His attraction to her is instant and very powerful. He has to remind himself that she is here for the kids not him. Will he be able to keep his hands to himself or will the connection be too great to resist. Will this new woman in his life bring him some new enemies?

Josephine Hill gets off the train from running from her past. When she finds herself mesmerized by this beautiful man she can't help to feel the attraction to him. She sees that he has four young children and she does not want to let him down. She goes to work for him and his family. At first it is a little rough for her but with new friends to help along the way she turns into family too. Will she finally find what she is looking for a happy ending or will she have to leave everything behind to protect her new family? Will she finally feel safe from her past or will the past come and find her again?
Josephine and Tyler both have some dark pasts. When danger starts to surface will they fight them together or will the danger destroy them both? Will they have a future together or will their pasts continue to haunt them?

This story is incredible. You will fall in love with both Tyler and Josephine. I love a strong hot cowboy that defends his family no matter the cost. Josephine is smart, beautiful, and a good person. Josephine learns a lot about herself throughout her stay with Tyler and his children. Tyler and Josephine are electric together. They are both funny. They both had me laughing at all their antics that they did to one another. The story is fast paced and a very easy read. This story also has some twists that I did not see coming. I usually don't read country romance but now I want more. I love that this story takes place in the olden days and you got a little insight in how they used to live. They did not have cars or cellphones. They had to take a horse and buggy to get around town. You will also meet some wonderful friends along the way. Everyone helps out in their own way. I love how the author ended the story it was perfect. I can't wait to see what this author will write about next.

Romance, Suspense and Secrets!!!!
Gunslinger is a book that I didn’t want to end. I am so glad I got the opportunity to read this fantastic story! Tyler Wilson has more responsibility than he can handle. He owns a Texas cattle ranch and has four young kids to care for. Being a single parent to children all under the age of seven is a daunting job for a mom, but is next to impossible for a pa. Tyler does the best he can and trying to keep the kids safe and fed and the ranch running smoothly is more than he can handle. His only solution is to hire a nanny. So, he gets a mail order nanny. The minute she steps off the train he wants to fall to his knees. She is nothing like he expected, she is gorgeous beyond his wildest dreams.
Miss Josephine Hill aka JoJo is Tyler’s answer to all his prayers. He must remind himself that she is here to take care of the kids and run the household. There is one problem she doesn’t seem to know what she is doing. She doesn’t know how to cook or clean. She had asked herself how hard could it be? There is only one dish served in this household and nobody wants it again! Tyler is suspicious of her but decides not to care because the kids are taking up with her and that’s enough for him, or is it?
Tyler has made a dangerous enemy and this enemy wants what Tyler has and won’t stop until he gets it. JoJo has a dangerous man searching for her to get something of hers and he also won’t stop until he can find her and bring her home to take what he wants. The town people are willing to do what is needed to help Tyler and the man that help saved Tyler’s life. Will JoJo come clean about her secrets or will she go home quietly?
I felt like I was watching a movie as I was reading this story. I was so invested in the characters I honestly didn’t want it to end! The children are adorable and each has a special quality about them. Michelle Lowhorn has written a grab you from the first story. Thank you! It would be sad to miss reading this book!

One look at the cover alone and I was intrigued; mysterious eyes behind the cowboy hat apparently quick on the draw pointing that gun my way.

Tyler Wilson lives in Texas on a large cattle ranch to run. When Tyler finds himself in over his head with the sudden death of his wife, he knows that he must find some help right away. Tyler places a contract for a Nanny. Miss Josephine Hill responds to his notice and they begin sending letters back and forth. On paper Miss Josephine is well experienced, highly recommended and seems to be the answer to all of his problems. Only her last couple of letters has left him confused and he is not sure if she will show up on the expedited day or not. Maybe the thought of four little children all under the age of 7 as well as the daily tasks expected of her is too much.

The day arrives and Tyler’s fears feel completely real because he can not spot Miss Josephine anywhere at the train station. His oldest daughter Caroline asks where is she Pa, he has to tell her that he does not see her yet can she help locate her. As she steps off the train all she can think about is a hot shower but immediately she spots a man with a gun strapped across his body; she quickly walks the other way in hopes that she hasn’t been spotted. While she is walking away a little girl approaches her and asks “are you my new nanny?” A new plan is quickly formed and she decides to say yes. Caroline screams to her Pa that she has found her. Tyler walks up and is immediately attracted to her; he was expecting her to be the older spinster that her letters claimed. He introduces himself and the children but tells her that he was afraid that she had changed her mind after all this time. Thus begins a new journey for everyone.

This was a beautifully written story that flowed well. I found the children adorable with funny scenes as well as situations that they created for themselves. This is a story about heartache, second chances; shady characters love and laugh out loud moments.

Tyler’s wife had died during childbirth and now he was left to look after the ranch and his four children by himself. Tyler decided he needed help to look after the children and decided to h ire a nanny for help. Adelaide was on the run from her guardian Fredrick who was determined to marry her solely so he could get his hands on her inheritance left to her by her father.

Tired of sitting on a train going who knows where and sitting among cigar smoke she decided to get off the train. But she was also worried she would be found by her guardian’s enforcers and be dragged back to Fredrick’s house. Sitting on the station platform Tyler’s daughter Caroline asked her if she was her new nanny, Adelaide asked her what she said, Caroline asked again if she was her nanny Josephine Hill. Ceasing this opportunity Adelaide told Caroline yes, she was.

The problem that would face Adelaide was that she had no clue about looking after children and she had no idea how to cook as she had servants for that at home. Tyler soon learnt she could not cook and enlisted help from his neighbour to teach her. Before long she was cooking well and serving decent meals for Tyler and his children. Not long after she had arrived Tyler received a letter from the real Josephine Hill explaining why she had not made the trip. Tyler knew this had to be dealt with and waited for the children to be put to bed before he approached Adelaide about this letter and to find out exactly who was looking after his children.

Once the children were bedded down for the night he asked Adelaide to join him on the porch. Once there he told her about the letter he had received and demanded an explanation. In tears, she told Tyler who she was and why she had lied about who she was. But by this time Tyler had already decide she was his woman. While telling him her story she was worried he would tell her he was putting her back on the train.

After Tyler loses his wife of seven years Cora in childbirth he realizes he isn't going to be able to raise 4 kids one being a newborn on his own. So he puts in for a mail order nanny and now has all the kids loaded into the wagon. Adelaide is on the run from Frederick her former guardian who wants to force her into marriage so he has access to her large inheritance from the death of her father. She steps of the train for a night of real rest and real food to a little blonde girl asking are you my new Nanny? Are you Josephine?

She instantly decided yes she is now this little girl's nanny and becomes slightly overwhelmed when she realized there are three more kids including her. Soon the youngest Caroline realizes the nanny is in over her head she can't cook to save her life and the family might starve if she keeps on that way. She has never dealt with chickens and cows, but slowly after a run in with the broom the chickens make peace with her. Tyler and Josey are slowly falling for each even though it been a few days, though after a trip to town Tyler learns that Josey isn’t who she says she is and she is afraid Tyler is going to send her packing. Once Tyler learns why she lied he decides he will do anything to protect this girl he’s fallen in love with at any cost, and soon he will have to do just that.

I loved this book, the story was funny and charming and well thought out. You could feel the love and hatred the characters had for each other pour from the pages. I will definitely be looking up more from this author.

I love a good cowboy story. Michelle Lowhorn hit the spot with Gunslinger. This fun sweet western love story is about Tyler, his four very young children and the mail order nanny that comes with her own bag of trouble! Adelaide is on the run from unsavory characters. When she gets off the train hoping to lose the “gunslinger” she finds Tyler’s adorable children. When she meets Tyler himself there’s just a touch of love at first sight with these two.

“The deepest, darkest, brown eyes she’d ever seen momentarily held her captive. For some inexplicable reason, one look into this stranger’s eyes made her feel like he was a man who’d protect and cherish what belonged to him.”

But life isn’t that easy in real life or a book. Adelaide must “go undercover” in order to get away from her troubles, little does she know what she is really getting into. Most books have one nasty villain, you know, that character we love to hate. Well Lowhorn has given us more than one! Even though there are too many nasty bad guys, there are just as many town folk wanting to help out.
I loved the setting for this story, the characters and the overall writing of the story. The setting being the wild west, with a train station, cowboys, ranches, and boiling water on the stove for your bath has always fascinated me. The characters felt like people I would want to know, well Tyler, his nanny and the townspeople. Those gunslingers I could certainly do without! This is my first book by Michelle Lowhorn and I will gladly read more from her!

This book deserves so much more than 5 stars, I really loved it. I will admit it’s not a book I would normally pick up but I am so glad I did or I would have missed out on this gem
Tyler Wilson is a single father of 4 young children, the youngest only a few months old. His wife died in childbirth and he is completely lost, he may not have had a marriage based on love but she was a good wife and mother. The oldest girl is only 6 but she is trying her best to cook and keep a home with her daddy. So Tyler advertises for a nanny, his ad is answered by Miss Josephine Hill a 28 year old spinster and after some correspondence back and forth he offers her the job
Tyler and the kids collect Miss hill from the station to start work but Josephine Hill is not what she seems for a start she is the most beautiful woman Tyler has ever seen and love quickly blossoms but she is hiding secrets that will come back to haunt her and their newfound happiness
This is the first book I have read by Michelle but based on this one it won’t be the last, I couldn’t put it down and read it in a day. It’s well written, the characters are believable and likeable especially Tyler’s daughter Caroline, the chemistry between Josephine and Tyler is amazing and the sex scene sizzles. I highly recommend reading Gunslinger and congratulations to Michelle on a fantastic read

Gunslinger by Michelle Lowhorn is a standalone novel. I tend to stay away from books that are considered historical but I liked this book. I will be considering others by this author to see if there are any others that peak my interest.

Tyler Wilson is the father of four children whose wife died giving birth to the youngest leaving him with his daughters Cassie and Caroline ages newborn and six and sons Cole and Caleb ages two and four and he has his hands full between the kids and the family ranch. Without any other options, he looks into getting a mail order nanny and ends up getting more than he bargained for.

Josephine Hill responds to the request and makes her way to Texas and is met by Tyler and the kids. They make their way to the ranch and it is nothing like she has ever experienced before. She quickly realizes how far over her head she really is and is worried that Tyler will find out her secrets. She can’t cook, she has no experience with kids and then there is the big one. Little does she know that Tyler has secrets of his own.

Josey learns a lot about keeping a house and caring for kids in a very short time with the help of Tyler and the neighbors, especially Hazel who especially was helpful with cooking lessons. Josey is finally part of a family and couldn’t be happier with her life now even if she is still looking over her shoulder waiting for her past to find her.

I loved all of the kids, Cole tugged at my heart, Caroline was growing up and wanted nothing more than a Mother’s love but my favorite was Caleb. He was a spitfire from the beginning and made me laugh out loud several times with his antics, comments and opinions. This book has a very happy ending.

Gunslinger by Michelle Lowhorn is a great book 5 stars. This book although a little short (I personally wish it would have been longer)was just great! We meet Tyler Wilson who had just recently become a widow, with four very young children to care for. Tyler is also a ranch/cattle owner and as much as he would like to taking your children with you to work is just not very conducive when you’re working on a large ranch in Texas. So he writes of a letter trying to get nanny. Only what he gets is a bit of a surprise that ends up changing his life in more ways than one.
Josephine Hill is gets of the dusty old train at the train station with a sore butt and heavy concern on her mind, when she is greeted by a little girl asking her if she is her new nanny. Josephine is what most would call a beautiful women and not what would be expected of a nanny. Tyler is desperate and besides on paper she seems very good and he needs help. They are attracted to each other which causes Tyler some guilt an upset stomach and some heartache. While Josephine finds that she is doing things she never dreamed she would be doing and loving it (well all but the chickens).
Five Stars this was my first book by Michelle Lowhorn and it will not be my last. Like I said I personally would have loved it to be a little longer but the length of this book fit well for the story line. The writing was well done, characters very relatable. I adored Caroline! I very much recommend this book , a great read there are some twists and turns in this book that I did not expect and loved them!

He can feel an instant connection, but he just lost his wife so is it wrong to feel that way? Will his secrets come out? Will she leave if she finds out? She is his, he can't lose her but will he?

The attraction she feels for him is instant and very strong. What will happen when he finds out her secrets? Will she have to leave? Their relationship is one that will pull you in and keep you wanting more for them. They will show you that sometimes it just doesn't matter what secrets you have, that you are still worth loving. Find out if these two will survive their love and have a future together.

This is my first story by Michelle Lowhorn and it won't be the last. Michelle live in Texas with her husband and they have two grown adult children and a spoiled pug. She is a teacher during the day and writes at night. She says the best part of being an author is interacting with her readers. This story will pull you in from the first page of the story and will suck you in until the end. You will love these characters and you will totally lose track of time. I highly suggest this story as I know you will love reading it as much as I have.

Gunslinger is a historical romance novel by Michelle Lowhorn. It tells the story of rancher Tyler Wilson, who was widowed with four children under the age of seven. He needs as much help as he can get so he can the ranch. He puts an ad out for a mail order nanny. That is where we meet Josephine Hill, but is she who she says she is. Tyler and Josephine have an attraction from when they first laid eyes on each other at the train station. She thinks he is very handsome with four cute children. And he finds her beautiful and striking, but he just lost his wife. Can he let himself fall for her? But will they have a future together, when it seems that they both have enemies that could threaten everything they hope to have with each other. They both have secrets they can be dangerous, will they be comfortable to share with each other.

Gunslinger is a story that keeps you wanting more and was very well written. Michelle Lowhorn did a very good job getting the connection with the characters and the reader, making you cheer them on. She does a great job developing all the characters including the four children. I normally do not read historical romance novels but now I definitely will be reading more thanks to Gunslinger by Michelle Lowhorn. I loved the fact that this was not just a romance novel but filled with suspense and good friends always willing to help.

Gunslinger is a book written by Michelle Lowhorn. This was a very quick read. I was able to read it in about 2 hours. The quickness of the book doesn't take away from the story itself. In this story we meet Josephine and Tyler. Josephine is an 18 year old young woman that is trying to escape the life that awaits her. Tyler is a 29 year old having just lost a wife and raising 4 young children on his own. He finds himself over his head trying to raise 4 young children and run his ranch. That's where Josephine comes in, she's a nanny that comes to help them. But danger waits for them. Will the crazy instances happening on the farm destroy what Josephine and Tyler are building. Will the life that Josephine is running from finally catch up to her? Will her secrets ruin her new life? One of the things that I was not happy about this book turned out to make this book awesome. That thing for me was the time of when the story took place. There is no mention of a year or anything but some of the things in the story led us to believe that it was before cars were around. This made the book a very endearing. The lack of sex in this book was also a breath of fresh air. We got to read about the characters and. It just what they did between the sheets. This is a 5 star book. Plus you guys have to meet Caleb. He is one of the kids and what a mouth and sassyness (I don't think that's a word) on him.

Gunslinger by Michelle Lowhorn
5/5 stars

This is my first time reading a book by this author. It is a very heartwarming and enduring story. It is also a standalone.I have to admit, I was very pleasantly surprised. It grabbed my attention from the get go. I wasn't able to put it down for the life of me. Within four hours, I was finished.
I'm not sure what it about hardworking cowboys… but good grief!! I can picture that man in my head!! Especially family oriented cowboys…. drool!!
This is a story about family and an abundance amount of love. It shows how blood is thicker than water, family should always stick together no matter what! Life has a lot of ups and downs, that is for sure! But how you deal with it and get through it together, as a family is what matters most!
Tyler is raising four children all under the age of seven.. alone! He is learning to live life after a devastating loss. He needs helps in every imaginable way possible. That's where Josephine and Tyler's path unexpectedly cross. He needs someone to help with the kids. She needs someone to help escape her past. Will they be able to help each other? Can they forge a relationship that will benefit the both of them?
I fell in love with the characters and storyline. This book will make you laugh, cry and even get upset or mad. It's extremely well written and thought out. I enjoyed reading this tremendously. I'm looking forward to reading many more books from this author.

Wow such a great book. I am not used to reading books that take place so far back in time but it was refreshing and nice to go back in time and see the simple time when life was at a slower pace and things were appreciated more.
This book is about a man that works hard on his ranch to provide for himself and his family. He is in need of a nanny so he sends for one. The woman that arrives is quite different from what he expected but she works hard to do her job and he is pleased because he can devote his time to his job.
Tyler Wilson is a true gentleman and a great father. He is adored by his family and he works day in and day out to make it all work. He has four children, Caleb, Caroline, Cole, and Cassie and would do anything in the world for any of them. Caleb is a hand full and thinks a woman’s place is in the kitchen and is not shy about pointing that out to the nanny, Josephine. Josephine came from living a different way than she is currently and it is taking some getting used to but she is becoming better and better at her job. Tyler has the help of neighbors to help him with his daily job on the ranch while Josephine is milking the cow, gathering eggs, working in the garden, and tending to the children. They make it work and the children help in any way they can.
Such a great book. Loved every minute of it.

Gunslinger by Michelle Lowhorn Rated 4 stars

Tyler Wilson has been recently widowed. By recent, I mean a month or two. During that time he had to figure out how to run his ranch and care for his 4 children. It was more difficult than he thought and the ranch and kids were each suffering. He was running himself ragged, so out of desperation he got a mail order nanny. A Miss Josephine was supposed to arrive on the noon train. Now that she was here things could get back to normal.
When Adelaide stepped off that train she was only thinking of hiding from the people after her. When the little girl asked if she was Miss Josephine her new nanny she figured the is a perfect idea to get away from them. So she became Miss Josephine, the nanny to 4 children all under 7 years old. Even though she didn't know much about children, she could do this! Meeting Tyler she was instantly attracted to him but then remembered he only hired her as the nanny.
Tyler was shocked at the nanny, he thought she was going to be a spinster. She was not! She was beautiful! He was not sure how long he could go being around her daily without trying to kiss her. Life as a rancher was never easy and although part of his burden was eased, with Josie being here, he still had other issues to contend with; namely neighboring ranchers. Would Josie leave when she saw how tough life was on the ranch? Or would Tyler ask Josie to leave when he heard about her past?

It's been awhile since I have read this type of romance. So I was pretty excited about reading this. I was not disappointed! It was pretty comical after she got there and seeing how she had to learn everything. The kids were adorable. I really felt for Cole when he was sick. Thank Goodness for Caroline! I am not sure what Josie would have done without her. Good Story!

Gunslinger is a standalone novel by Michelle Lowhorn. This is the first book that I have read by this author and I was totally blown away by it so it will definitely not be my last! I literally could not put it down. I admit I have a soft spot for stories with Cowboys in them but I loved that this had a historical feel to it – I absolutely love historical romance stories and I definitely got the feel from this book! The story was really well written and even though it was short it didn’t feel rushed, in fact there was a fair bit of story included in less than 140 pages! The action started straight away and carried on right until the very end. I liked that there were two storylines intertwined together, I felt it made the story even more exciting!
The story is about Tyler Wilson who finds himself unexpectedly widowed with 4 young children after his wife sadly passes away. He has a large Texas cattle ranch to run and Tyler quickly realises he is in over his head so in desperation he reaches out for a mail order nanny.
Miss Josephine Hill is very experienced and comes highly recommended. On paper she seems to be the answer to his problem; however the incredibly gorgeous young lady who steps off the train is nothing like the spinster he was expecting.
The attraction between Tyler and Josephine is instant and strong and it doesn’t take long for love to blossom. Just when they believe they have a future an enemy threatens everything.
I really liked the characters in this story. I really felt for Tyler, he really did deserve someone to love him and for him to be in a loving relationship. He was kind, caring, a great father and he sounded incredibly sexy!! Josephine’s character made me laugh a few times, she really had no clue how to live on a cattle ranch – I could imagine in my mind the scene where she went to collect the eggs! I liked how her character seemed a bit mysterious, from the very beginning I could tell something wasn’t quite right with her but I wasn’t quite sure what. The chemistry between Tyler and Josephine was HOT!! There were also a few secondary characters in the story that I liked as well – especially the children! Caroline was such a lovely little girl and so grown up for her age!
I really enjoyed this story and would definitely recommend it for anyone who likes a western romance with some great character and an interesting story line!

Tyler Wilson is a twenty-nine year old widow. He is left to care for his young children when his wife died suddenly. He is a ranch owner who has his hands full taking care of his children and trying to take care of his ranch also. He realizes that there isn't enough time in the day to do it all. In his need for help he sends out for a mail order nanny. She comes with all the bells and whistles, so now he can focus on his ranch. When he arrives at the train station he didn't anticipate a beautiful woman. He thought she would be a plain looking old woman. Their attraction was overwhelmingly powerful and instantaneous. He will definitely have to keep his distance and remind himself she is their for the children and not him. Easier said than done.
When Josephine Hill steps off the train she is in awe of the man standing before her. He is a great father to four adorable children. Did i mention he was very handsome. They definitely need her help though and she doesn’t want to let them down.
They both have secrets that will eventually come to light especially with the danger that is stalking them both.

This is definitely not what i'm used to reading but that's why i decided to read it. The cover alone speaks volumes to me. Like i wonder what he did in past, who is he really, what happened to him, and who loves him. Yes, i'm that deep. It's a story that keeps you guessing and tugs at your heartstrings. From the very beginning it made me cry along with have this connection with the characters that i loved. I loved how Tyler and Josephine's connection progressed and slowly intensified as the story went on. Even though they knew that nothing good can come from them especially with the secrets that they both have, but i felt like they could save one another. The children were very charming and had me from the get go. I laughed with them and at them sometimes. I felt the emotions they felt especially the oldest. She was a very smart little girl who loves her daddy very much. Hazel and her family were a nice little addition. She was a very smart woman and an amazing friend. I loved her instantly. She reminds me of my best friend. This storyline made me wish i was right there with them doing everything they were doing.

Gunslinger – Michelle Lowhorn – 4 stars
Gunslinger is set in a time long ago, where the prairies were dusty, wagons got hitched and neighbors helped each other out. It’s a lovely Western Romance that I would have no problem recommending to my 80 year old mother.
Tyler Wilson is a hard working single dad of 4 children. His wife passed away and he is desperate for a Nanny. He writes letters to someone who seems like a good prospect. Tyler is hopeful that Miss Josephine Miller will be the person he is looking for. They corresponded by letters for months so how much better could he know her? (Seriously you guys, letters – not email).
Miss Josephine Miller may not be who she appears to be. She gets off the train in a town she doesn’t get to see before she is whisked off to take care of 4 children she just met. Each child has a unique personality and they are such a fun part of this story.
Miss Miller settles in and realizes that life is going to be much different here. She has to cook, milk the cow and gather eggs while tending to this little family (If I was dropped somewhere and had to survive on my own and live off the land, I’d be dead within a week).
This is the story of how Tyler and Josephine’s relationship and their truths unfold.
This was a light, romantic read that had a little drama, a lot of love and some humor sprinkled in (seriously, if I had to go into that chicken coop – I just don’t know what would have happened).
This was the first time I’ve read a book written by Michelle Lowhorn and while Westerns aren’t a “go to” genre for me, I would read her again.

Gunslinger
By: Michelle Lowhorn
5 out of 5 stars

The story Gunslinger by Michelle Lowhorn is a western romance book. This book tells the story of Tyler Wilson and Josephine Hill. Tyler has a farm to run. He has recently lost his wife and has four children under the age of seven. He knows he needs help so he reaches out and gets a mail order nanny. He meets Josephine and right away he knows that he has feelings for her. Josephine has never taken care of children before. She has never lived on a ranch or even cooked a meal. Even with everything against her, she is willing to take care of Tyler’s four children. Just when both Tyler and Josephine believe things could not be any better danger comes their way. Will their love be able to survive the upcoming peril?

This is a wonderful story. It does have its sad moments, however, mostly it is a story of hope, love and second chances. I found myself laughing out loud when Josephine first started taking care of the children. She had plenty is problems and if it had not been for the oldest girl, Caroline, I don’t think she would have survived. Then there was the cooking, from the reactions of Tyler and the children it is amazing that they did not starve. Josephine is a strong person with a wonderful personality. Tyler is a bit of a mystery. The story does hint that he has a past and although he loved his first wife dearly, it seemed more of an arrangement than a marriage. He is hard working and is attentive to both his farm and family. He now adds Josephine his list. This is a story that will warm your heart. The story has a wonderful plot and is well developed. It is the first book that I have read by the author and I can say it won’t be the last. Her writing style is smooth and easy to understand. This is the perfect book to get lost in for the afternoon. The story does have a few scenes of violence and at least one romantic love scene. I would recommend for a mature audience.

Do you want a fast paced romantic book on a ranch? Then pick up Gunslinger. The book is about Jojo and Tyler. Tyler recently lost his wife in child birth and now has four children to take care of by himself. Of course taking care of the children and handling the ranch is too much for him. He puts out a request for nanny to come live with them to help raise his children. In comes Jojo, who has a surprise of her own for Tyler. Of course this surprise is one that drives the story. And Tyler has a surprise for her, one that isn't hard to figure out.
Jojo takes on the role of caring for the children. She learns how to run the ranch like a woman does for her family. The story does have some funny moments in it. It is entertaining to read about how out of her element Jojo is.
She comes to love the children like her own. She develops a connection to each of them that Is unique.
Like every ranch love story, you have to throw in there some gunslingers and ranch feuds. The story builds up to a quick to an obstacle, tackled fast, and resolved within a couple sentences.
If you want a fast romantic feel good read this is for you.
I have to say that the book went a little to fast for me. I wanted more information on certain topics. I wanted more romantic scenes between Jojo and Tyler. Overall this was a very good book. One I was able to read in a day.

Gunslinger Written by Michelle Lowhorn
4 stars

This was my first Michelle Lowhorn read. It was a historical romance about a widowed rancher who was raising his four small children. Tyler realized he couldn't do it alone so he started writing letters with a mail ordered nanny.

Adelaide aka Josey was running from Frederick who was trying to get his hands on her inheritance. Josey was an eighteen year old orphan. She was riding a train out of town and felt she was being followed by a professional gunslinger so she snuck off the train and ended up getting mixed up with Tyler and his four children.

Josey had been raised by a wealthy family and lived with hired help. She had no idea the amount of work it took to work on a ranch, raise children and keep the house chores up as well as feeding some of the ranch hands. She now was the hired help and having a hard time keeping up the facade.

Josey became friendly with her neighbor Hazel who had raised eight children and was teaching her how to cook, manage the chores and children. Joey instantly feel in love with Tyler's children and had to remind herself she was just the help. She was having a hard time keeping her heart out of it and not fantasizing that it was more than her being just a nanny.

Tyler had a past he was trying to keep hidden. He had been a different person before he reached his late twenties. He now was a father and rancher. He knew Josey was hiding something as well, but that didn't stop him from being protective of her as if she were his family. She became just as important to him as his children when it came to him providing and protecting them.

Will Josey or Tyler's past finally catch up with them? Will they be able to keep each other and the children safe from the dangers that the secrets would bring to the ranch? Will they be able to stay nanny and boss? Will the children accept Josey so quickly after their mother passed or will they make things difficult trying to care for them?

Gunslinger by Michelle Lowhorn – 4 Stars

This is a new author to me, but after reading the book synopsis I was keen to get started.

Tyler Wilson is a Rancher and loves his children, but after losing his wife to his fourth child he found left holding the baby literally. Running a Cattle ranch is demanding work and with now being the sole carer for his children means he is struggling to meet all the demands being made of him.
So what does he do?

He orders a mail order nanny, Miss Josephine Hill to be exact, to help and after months of communication, the day has come for her arrival by train. Anxiously waiting at the station with a fear she will not turn up, the beauty that greets him is not what he is expecting.

Josephine, as she is being called is swamped with the duties of caring for the four children but also the feelings overwhelming her for their father. Surely being a widow for a short period of time, he would not reciprocate her feeling. Unsure of the decision she made to step of the train and into their lives, events start to push them closer together and make the sparks fly.

This was a sweet romantic read, one easily done once you start due to the 134 pages, a short story one I did not want to end.

The development of feelings between these two was quick but the children are adorable and who couldn’t fall in love.

Gunslinger by Michelle Lowhorn is a old western style romance set in multiple points of view. The leading lady Josephine comes to Texas to be the nanny for a widowed rancher. Tyler Wilson has four children all under the age of 7. His wife's death was completely unexpected. He has no idea how much work it takes to take on so many small kids solo and run a ranch. Josephine Hill comes well experienced and just the help he needs to be able to continue to run his huge ranch. The attraction between the two of them is almost instantaneous. They have several obstacles that they end up facing but by the end of the book I was completely rooting for them. I thought the story was really good. My only complaint was that some stuff was repeated a lot and I felt after a couple of times there was no need to say it again. It was very easy to read this and lose time. I could have easily finished this book in a day. There is enough stuff happening that you aren't bored for sure. The relationship between the two does move fast. This is a shorter book of a little over 100 pages. I have to admit the beginning cooking issues that Josephine had were hilarious. And chickens are scary little devils so I can imagine a similar situation happening to me. I also enjoyed Hazel and her contribution to the story. I really liked her motherly and friend like character and how willing she was to help Jojo as she navigated this new life. Anyway a fun read and I really liked it 4 star rating!
