Pushing Arlo

Rate this book
He thought he had it all, until he met her.

They say you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone, but for notorious womanizer Arlo Jones, it's a case of not knowing what you want 'til it's standing in front of you. The moment he meets London, he realizes she's the piece of the puzzle he never knew was missing, but can't live without. He does everything he can to get her, but just as he thinks she's finally ready to give in to her feelings, he's reminded how empty his life was without her in it.

She thought she had a plan, until she met him.

They say the best-laid plans often go awry, and for aspiring photographer London Llwellyn, that's definitely the case when she falls for Arlo. That was never part of her plan. She tries her best to avoid being pulled into his vortex, but he manages to turn her head upside down and her heart inside out. Just as she thinks she's ready to commit to forever, she's reminded of the reasons she resisted him for so long.

He's pulling her closer. How long can she keep pushing him away?

⭐️ 4.5 "Hummingbird" Stars ⭐️
Pushing Arlo was such an incredible read. I was so excited to finally dive into the continuation of London and Arlo’s stormy romance. The fact this story is written in Arlo’s point of view was even more tempting.

"If this is the end of the line for us, I want to hold you in my arms one more time."

I love this sexy cocky rocker! The way he expresses himself and his unapologetic ways are just some of the reasons that makes him so attractive! In this second novel, he goes to great length to show London he’s all in. He’s so gone for her it’s so tangible and sweet to witness. Under his rockstar persona he shows a sensitive side that is so endearing.

Drama is always so near though, but Arlo tries his best to protect London from it. There’s a few shocking revelations that put dents in their relationship and makes London questions their love! They have the perfect sizzling chemistry on a physical level, but trusting Arlo is one of the biggest challenge London faces. Can this reformed player keep her heart safe and offer her the future she dreamed of?

As much as I enjoyed this book, some moments were so enraging. London constantly pushing Arlo away, doubting him had me frustrated. You clearly see he’s a changed man from loving her, but her trust in him is still tenuous. I would have like some chapters told in her point of view to better understand her actions and reactions.

"Hummingbird, if I lose you, I lose me."

Like it was the case with the previous novels, Pushing Arlo is packed with funny banters, sensual moments and lot of feels. This is another remarkable novel M.V. Ellis penned. I hope to read future books about the other members of the band Heartless Few, more specifically Luke, Arlo’s twin!

5 Rocking Stars!

I have been waiting for this book ever since I finished Catching London and MV Ellis did not let me down. My ass was up until 2am because I needed to know what happened.

Pushing Arlo picks up right at the release/gallery showing for the photo book that London created for Arlo. Let’s just say that while getting a sneak peak at the photos Arlo gets a clear view into London’s feels for him. In true Arlo form he has to tell the entire world.

However being a rockstar there is always a negative story just waiting in the wings.

So yes if you love rockstars and drama then you need to read this book. As I’ve said before M.V. Ellis’s ability to suck you in is absolutely amazing.

Well this was it for me, I was dying to get my hands on Pushing Arlo, I was like an excited puppy. After devouring the first two books in this series I was anxiously awaiting more from my latest Rock God crush.

“He was emotionally detached and hotter than Hades” he also confesses:
“I’m that guy. The celebrity asshole the rest of the world can see is an out-of-control dick. The one that is too high on his own supply to listen when anybody tries to tell him to get the f#@k over himself, so people stop trying. That. Guy”. Well - not anymore, he needs to win over his girl; there is a strategic plan in place. (Although, trust me, he is still hotter than Hades)

This is the story of how love and devotion from “the one” can make or break your world. How your past can alter your future and what creative lengths you need to go too in order for that to happen.

It wasn’t just a love story about two people though; it was the connection of a band of brothers and what they in turn, would do for one another. Their camaraderie will have you in stitches with some of their antics. We got an insight into their different personalities and we also got more of Luke, Arlo’s twin brother, an enigma, who was a major player throughout this book.

Along with being the front man of the Heartless Few, the hottest band in town, Arlo is an astute businessman when it comes to the entertainment/ Nightclub industry and we meet some swoon-worthy Managers, which caught my attention, in his employ. (I’m hoping that turns out to be a whole other story.) Our author is very innovative in naming her venues.

I loved the beautiful London too, she was aptly described as “this tiny little Pandora’s box of a person, but you take the lid off, and boom! There’s an explosive firecracker”. She had strength to do what she thought was best for her; she had hard decisions to make. London took her time. She had needed it. She also loved Arlo and their sexual chemistry was off the richter, how was she able to resist his persuasive intentions, he had done so many thoughtful things to prove he was worthy of her love. I adored the ending of this series, the epilogue made my heart melt.

So just like Arlo has his fan base MV Ellis is well on the way to building hers. I love the way she writes; it’s an easy read full of wit and banter. I’m sold! I for one will be looking forward to so much more from this fabulous new author.

This is such an amazing love story and i was so excited to read the conclusion of Arlo and London's story. This is the third book and should be read in order.

For me, my favorite part is the growth and transformation of Arlo over the series. I really loved the secondary characters in this book and the way M.V. infused so much humor and life into this tale.

Arlo and London definitely don't have what I would call an "easy' love story or relationship. They both have major issues in their past that have caused them to put up walls and push people away. Things that contribute to their attitudes and the way they see life. There's baggage there but when you have a love like theirs it's worth fighting for.

Through all the hard times and sorrow and the long road they had ahead they come together and come out of it so much stronger, bonded and in love.

WOW!! That was an awesome finish to this three part story.
Arlo has grown quite a bit from the arrogant, cocky rock god, to a man who simply loves his woman. He showed true grit and complete devotion to London, even when she kept pushing him away. Her reasons were there for us to see, but it was still somewhat annoying that she did it repeatedly. Maybe this would have been easier to understand if Ms Ellis had used dual POV rather than single. We only had Arlo’s insight in this one. I thought after the other two being individual she would have used this advantage better. But, that’s just my view, it’s the author’s choice how she writes the story after all.
We still saw all the emotional turmoil they suffered, Arlo was a real sweetie here showing his true heartfelt emotions. He’s a man on a mission and he won’t quit until he’s got what he wants.
London’s heart.
Great ending to a fantastic story.

I finally was able to read the conclusion to Arlo and London's story. I loved that it was told in Arlo's POV. I liked it a lot. Enjoyed them finally getting their HEA.

London throughout the book kept pushing Arlo away, but Arlo knows. She is his happily ever after. I liked this story a lot. It was frustrating a bit to see how London kept pushing him away, but I understood why she felt the way she did. It was great seeing Arlo, grow and love London. It was quite the opposite of the first book of how he was as a person, he opened up way more here and was so sure of his love for London.

I loved the epilogue. So good! So sweet!

Whew! What a conclusion to this series!

The story of Arlo and London.  Told from Arlo's POV.

As I was reading, I was applauding Arlo's transformation.  He had a real redemption.  I wanted to smack London upside the head with her stubbornness! I would have really enjoyed to see a peek into London's thinking, maybe a chapter or two from her POV.  To get a real understanding what was going through her head.

Through trials and tribulations.  You can feel the heartbreak and the determination of Arlo as he becomes the man that he feels deserves to be with London.  He is smart, he is stubborn and he is so swoony, you really see the romance come out of him in this story.

This story and the others before it are fantastic! I can really see Ms. Ellis going places in the author world!

Get your hands on this!!

Pushing Arlo M.V. Ellis

Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews

Genre: Romance,

I've just read back my reviews of parts one and two of this series, and what stands out is I love Arlo, he's thoughtless with Marnie, selfish at times, very focused when it comes to music and business, and thinks he's always right. There's no room for doubt in his life. Then he meets London...
London. I felt for her in book one, she had a tough backstory, and was one of those work through it folk, determined to get there however hard it was. Arlo was a wrench in her plans, and she so annoyed me on books one and two with her back and forth feelings. Poor Arlo must have had whiplash.
Finally they're on the cusp of agreement, finally Arlo has broken through London's tough barriers, and then – the proverbial sh it hits the fan and its back to basics, actually worse than that, Arlo really does have a fight on his hands if he wants London.
I got really annoyed at her in this book. She holds Arlo to blame for events that happened before they met, clinging to this idea he's in control of his fame, she wants him but not the notoriety he brings. She's kidding herself though, he's falling over backwards to do his best, but he can't change the past, and Fame – well, that's part of who he is, what makes him the man she loves and I was so angry at her knee jerk reactions. Well, I guess to begin I understood, it was a shock, but she holds onto anger like some kind of puritan. I just kept thinking “hasn't she ever done things she regrets? Is she really going to throw everything away – or threaten to anyway – yet again” There's only so many times someone can say sorry, try to make things better and Arlo really was a saint here IMO. London behaves in a really callous way a couple of times here and I so felt for Arlo. Usually I'd be the other way, all for the girl, angry at the heart-breaker rocker, but he's really trying his best and he just gets rammed back every time. Gah, was I annoyed at the woman. Arlo must feel dealing with her is like walking on eggshells.
I really struggled at times with how Arlo felt about her because she was so horrible to him, judgmental, callous, blaming him for his fame, when she's known all along who he is...

Stars: Four. I think London's attitude is one of the things that stopped this being a five star for me. The other is the lack of real band connection, the touring, the mayhem, the groupies, the concerts. All those make a rock star book special and TBH Arlo could be any rich famous guy here, as all those trappings were missing. Overall though its been an exciting trio, and Arlo was just perfect.

This is book three in the lust-hate-love story between Rock God Arlo Jones and London Llewellyn and IMO I should have stopped at book 2. I had a problem with London in the first book and it doesn't get better in this one. Instead of Pushing Arlo, it should have been called Throwing Arlo Away. London knew in book one what she was getting into so her constant push pull push by this book (regardless her reasoning) was getting really really old. Still I love Arlo enough to to see how he was going to weather hurricane London, without changing who he is (thankfully). And that is the reason for 4 stars, this book is also written in Arlo's POV, except for the epilogue is where London redeems herself - sort of. Another issue I had was the resolving (or not) of the issue that caused London's latest meltdown and the disappearance of some central characters.

I really enjoyed the conclusion to London and Arlo’s story. These characters go through a lot in this book and I just love Arlo so much. Love can completely change a person and it definitely changed Arlo Jones for the better. I loved how he loved and cared for London no matter what. This couple has gone through so many ups and downs and at times I was really frustrated with London and her stubbornness but Arlo knew exactly how to handle her.

I’m curious about some of the secondary characters, Marnie and Like, and I’m really hoping they get a story in the future!

Oh Arlo

MV I want to tell you I want an Arlo of my own. Asshole manwhore alpha rockstar. What more can you want. He loves completely and takes life by the horns and gets what he want....London and his squirts. How awesome is he. He changed his life completely for the better for them and for himself.

I love how we feel everything Arlo and London feel through the entire series. I can honestly say I don’t care what Marnie is going through I wanted to throat punch her. She needed to pay for what she did. I man do I feel bad for Luke. Maybe they can get their life’s together and be together.

I loved how we got the love/hate relationship between identical twins Arlo and Luke. Let’s hope Saint and Etienne don’t have so much hate for each other.

Arlo is definitely gonna pay for the way be treated women for so long having not one but two daughters. Oh how his life has changed.

The wedding....I can see Stevie, Ryan, Jake, and Luke all standing as groomsmen with their rockstar style. How totally hot is that. And Arlo in LEATHER pants. Yum

Amazingly hot read. Love this series.

This is a wonderful conclusion to London & Arlos tale. I admired his patience through London's hesitation in totally accepting him. Which would've of been extremely difficult & trying. The other characters in the book have also added to the story esp Gramps.
His consistent baggage coming to the fore hindered an easy transition into a relationship for these two. Plus Londons tragedy caused by the accident in her past.
She was continually at a crossroads with Arlo. I also like both sides to a story either dual POV 's or in another book. A great conclusion to the reformation of the bad boy rock star.
I received a complimentary copy for an honest review.

This is the third book in a series that must be read consecutively. This was a good book. I really liked Arlo a lot. Although, he can be childishly stubborn at times. I liked London a lot too. Although, she can be ridiculously independent, to her own detriment. I really enjoyed seeing Arlo, after meeting London, start to wake up and recognize his reckless behavior. I also really liked how his friends and family supported him but also called him out when needed. And once London got out of her own way, they really complemented each other. Now that their story is complete, I'm looking forward to the next installment in this series.

This is the final book of this trilogy and I was eagerly anticipating the conclusion of Arlo and London's intense and captivating story.

The best bit of this book is how Arlo grows and transforms throughout this series. He truly has been on an emotional journey right from the arrogant, cocky rock god in the beginning to a man who simply loves his woman. He displayed true grit and complete devotion to London.

Arlo and London definitely do not have a straightforward and simple love story and relationship. Both of them have got major issues from their pasts that have ultimately made them put up walls and push people away. These things have contributed to their attitudes and the way that they see life. There's inevitable baggage there but when you have a love like theirs it's worth fighting for.

I also really loved the secondary characters in this book and the way M.V. Ellis infused so much humor and life into this story.

Throughout all the hard times and sorrow; and the long road they had yet to overcome, they come together so much stronger, bonded and completely in love.

Brilliant and satisfying ending to a fantastic series!!!

Again love Arlo.....but London not so much

Well this one picks up right where the other one left off. I love Arlo and his forgiving heart. Sometimes he puts his foot in his mouth and is rash, but his heart is in the right place.

I again would give it 5 stars, but London stops me from loving the book. She is self centered and just down right mean! Anytime there is any kind of hurdle she quits, blames Arlo, or runs to her guy friend. I don’t know how Arlo can put up with it. She crushed him so many times. Argh and practically reduces Arlo to a yes man even when she is wrong and out of line.

Sorry she really just ruins it to me at times. Oh well.

A shatteringly wonderful love story quite unlike any I have read before. The pace is rapid and non stop as Arlo Jones and London Llewellyn continue to come together and fly apart. The first book in the series, “Catching London” had me hooked and this third and final book was definitely worth waiting for. MV Ellis has included a liberal amount of humour which had me laughing loudly and often! I look forward to future books from this author.

Who doesn't love a bad boy? Throw in the rock god status and he would end up being some holy grail. I definitely loved Catching London and it was great to be in Arlo's head this book instead.

This book picks up exactly where the last one left off - London's gallery showcase. It seems that the duo still has many more issues to fix after all the drama in Book #1. But hey, we all love some drama, don't we? If not the ending would not be as sweet.

So we have Arlo fighting for what he never knew he wanted, such a huge change for him and it is interesting to see him change as a person throughout the book. While there will always be that bad boy Arlo who doesn't care about anyone but himself, you see slivers of what really makes him tick.

London, on the other hand, can't deal with the huge drama that is Arlo and whatever his fame brings. She keeps trying to accept it but his world keeps her spinning until she doesn't know which way is up. I think she regressed a little in this book...but then this book for was Arlo and his story which was amazing.

While you could read this book on its own, I would suggest to read them in order.

Pushing Arlo picks up where the first book leaves off, so you really must read Catching London (Book 1) FIRST. I'm so glad that the talented MV Ellis decided on another book, because Catching London seemed to just drop off, not really a cliffy per se, but just ended so yeah, was super excited to get Pushing Arlo, and it was a great story that really played on my emotions in a shocking way. See, I really saw Arlo as the spoiled, man whorish rock star, but in this story, I honestly had his back instead of London's to be honest, and that's where my shock came into play. Where I had London's back since their story began, she really pissed me off with a lot of her decisions in this story, and I'm not quite over them yet. She was the one who came off badly this time, because honestly, the big twist, aka their big bump in the road, was before they were together, so what she did to him in reaction was just a douche move. And I had all kinds of colorful metaphors for her, which pissed me off, because we girls are supposed to have the cooler heads in these situations. Yeah I would give her the time to cool off, but she kept punishing him in ways that really set me off. So Ms. Ellis obviously had transported me into this story completely, while dragging my extreme emotions out to play, so I can honestly say that I devoured it in one sitting because I had to see how it all panned out! So if you want to know what happened, and trust me you do, just read this story that I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

This will be a spoiler review

Rock star Romance is one of my favourite reads having said that book 1 I enjoyed apart from.the scene where Arlo was sleeping with his f*** buddie in front of London not cool at all but I battled on skipped book 2 as its a short retail of parts of book 1 but in arlo pov now onto this book Arlo and London split up at the start of the book because of a video his f buddy took (this is a f buddy he's been sleeping with for 15years !!! Oh and his twin brother is in love with her yuk just no!) Now I like a bad boy rock star but Arlo was an absolute awful man whore. So I got to 50% still the main characters are not together get to 70% and London finally is back in the picture 75% in.still not together but living as room mates in different parts of Arlos house so I skimmed the rest of the book they don't even get back together until the end then bam epilogue . Cut a long rant short I give this 2 stars this is also told completely in Arlos pov which I don't think work at all would of Ben better duel pov so to wrap it up I didn't enjoy it at all and wouldn't recommend it

Oh Arlo. He is truly a self-absorbed, selfish, rock star but from the start of this series, his world was rocked by London. He now faces the fight of his life. London doesn’t want to be part of his crazy rock star world so she leaves him. How can he convince her to come back? It was a great ride experiencing Arlo as he truly faces who he is and realizes that maybe he isn’t always right. From the relationship he has with his twin brother to showing London his true self, we get to see someone emerge almost as if he’d been in a deep sleep for years. Arlo’s softer side is beautiful and eloquent, I loved his notes to Squirt, made my heart melt.

The conclusion to Arlo and London's story has left me in two minds about how I really feel about it. When we left them in book 1 they had both decided to be together and move their relationship to the next level so I was excited to see where their story would go from here, then I started reading Pushing Arlo.
This one is told from Arlo's pov which I liked but the thing for me was London, she seemed to just need an excuse to keep pushing him away and came across as pretty selfish at times it was her way or no way at all but through it all Arlo was there ready to catch her every single time. There were times I just wanted to give her a good shake and stop Arlo from letting her make all the decisions. But that been said I also found myself rooting for their HEA they had a great chemistry and you can only hope they work it all out.

An enjoyable read with a great epilogue and I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.

I gave this book 4 stars because while it was just as good as the previous two books I just hated how the whole book London was pushing Arlo away for no reason. Even when she did come back from Australia she still did not trust him even though he had done nothing to betray her trust. It would have been different if the video had been made after he met London but that was not the case. I think she was selfish in her feelings about finding out they were having twins - yes she was overwhelmed and in shock but so was Arlo. I just definitely did not like London in this book. Arlo on the other hand was amazing. I admired his determination to get what he wanted (London) no matter how much of a bitch she was. I also liked seeing him change for the better - he definitely had the most character growth throughout the series.

“When all is said and done, we don’t have enough to build on to go forward, Arlo, we just don’t.” Bullshit. “That’s bullshit, London, and you fucking know it. You don’t even sound like you believe it yourself. We thrived, and it brought us closer. Just like with me and the rest of band, our thing just works. What more do you need?” “I need someone I can rely on to always be there to catch me, and I’m not sure I have that with you.”

My favourite book of the series. Arlo and London’s relationship is a topsy, turvy ride, with lots of angst and tears. I didn’t think they’d get their happy ever after at times. An emotional and believable rockstar romance about two people who need to learn how to trust. Both of them have damaged souls, with big hearts.

This is the third book in this great series, and is the conclusion of Arlo and London’s tale. This story continues straight on from where the previous ended. London cannot deal with the drama off the rock star fame and limelight, and keeps pushing Arlo away. Arlo has been changed into a better person by London, and is determined to fight for what he wants. No spoilers; this is a must read, you will not be disappointed! This is another well written story, which had me captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I look forward to reading more form this talented author, whose work I recommend for all.

What an ending to this trilogy!

My heart be still and my emotions are all over the place. The final story about London and Arlo will keep you enthralled from the beginning to the end. When Arlo finally gets his girl, something happens to threaten their happiness. Can Arlo show London he is the one for her? And that they truly belong together? It just seems nothing can go their way, or can it? This story will take you on an emotional journey that you can’t help but fall in love with these characters all over again. I truly enjoyed this story and look forward to reading more by this author.

Love Arlo and London!

Arlo and London’s journey end in this epic story that didn’t disappoint. This series from the start has kept my attention and interest. You get a rock star who fell for someone unexpected like London who doesn’t give a hoot. But with his manly persuasion she starts to fall and fall hard they both did. What follows is a relationship full of sweetness, head pounding, and hot loving that will leave you wanting more. A truly enjoyable rock star romance story that you need to read today.

This entertaining read pulls you deeper into Arlo and London's story. The emotional turmoil and intensity really increases and I found myself much more invested in this couple. Arlo's struggle to show London how much she meant to him was both sweet and beautiful. I could sympathize with London's emotional struggle with her feelings for Arlo and all the drama that came from his fame and notoriety. A very emotional read. This is my frank, freely posted review.
