Deep into their spelunking mission, April, Mal and Ripley are fighting to find their way topside, and back to the safety of the mess hall before anyone realizes they’re missing. Meanwhile, the others’ game of Penterra is getting a bit high stakes, particularly since they’re playing against an ultra-competitive goddess!
Is it just me, or did this one feel super short? Anyway... I like that the board game is really heating up now, and I'm excited to see just what Diane has up her sleeves to make that crazy game even more crazy. I've also been equally enjoying the underground side of the story, but... that last page just isn't doing it for me. I'm not sure why that one particular rule is something Ripley wants to stick to so badly when they've broken a million others. It just felt like there was a rush to finish up this issue, so they had to end it in a hurry and chose a quick few panels to add on. Honestly, I think it would've been a better ending to just leave it on Diane's board game madness!
Due to the brevity of the issues, I almost wish we didn’t do this back and forth between our two teams (table top gaming / underground excursion) and instead had an issue each. But that’s probably not a seller for fans who’ll get mad if their characters aren’t in it, and the whole themes running between them...
Both plots move forward separately. Mal, Ripley and April trying to find a way out while Molly and Jo continue their board game with the Zodiacs.
Favorite character: Ripley. Least favorite character: I still don't like Diane but I find her a little more tolerable now... unless she totally changes in next issue, I guess I'll have to wait and see...
Really love this storyline and I so want to play a game of "Panterra". This gives me some serious "Friends - Bamboozled!" vibes. Love it! (maybe not the last page - that was just stupid)
