From the moment he was born, Nathan knew he couldn't let anyone know who, or what, he was, but that hasn't stopped him from trying to make his way in the world. And he's fine alone, seriously. Until a curvy, persistent reporter steps up and turns his whole world upside down. She's lighting up all the corners of his darkness and endangering the secrets he has always held so dear. So why can't he imagine ever letting her go?
When journalist Lillian Goss discovers that the world's most eligible bachelor might be a criminal, she isn't afraid to get the scoop at all costs. Unlike the rest of the world, she isn't dazzled by Nathan's easy smile, scorching blue gaze, or notable philanthropy. She's determined to expose his dark side, until she manages to get up close and finds Nathan altogether different than she thought. He's even willing to grant an exclusive, if Lillian is willing to walk into the shadows that surround his life and heart.
The more Lillian gets to know Nathan, the more complicated her feelings get for a man who's much lonelier than anyone knows. Yes, he has secrets, but he also is braver, and kinder, than she ever imagined. But as attraction burns hot between them, and an unknown stalker enters the picture, one questions arises for Lillian above all... Where does Nathan go after Midnight?
Midnight is the first book in the Nightmare Dragons series. These books contain intense themes, some dramatic violence, and tortured shifter heroes who might just make some people afraid of the dark.
MY BOOKS WILL NEVER CONTAIN: Cheating, unfaithful heroes, or an ending that is anything but happy.
Terry is the author of over forty bestselling shifter romances. She spends her spare time dreaming of dragons, playing with her pets, and watching sunsets from her home in the mountains alongside her husband (who she suspects would make a great bear shifter). She loves the wild outdoors, her fans, all readers, and getting lost in a great book.

I read this book because of the author. But I do have to say I wanted something better than the previous books I've read from her because although she does dragons well her books have been getting repetitive. So right off the bat, the book description wasn't appealing to me. But I wanted to give this book a chance. So going into this I was already hesitant. After reading this book I really think Terry uses the same heroine template. Lilian; her personality, thoughts, and actions were just the typical heroine by this author. I'm just over it. I even think some of the text is the same. I didn't like how Lilian judged Nathan just because he was rich. I've been poor and I would never judge someone based on what side of the wealth spectrum they're on. Overall, I didn't like Lilian's character at all. And, Nathans character was nothing special. The romance was okay. So..on the plus side I'm glad a new dragon race was introduced. The new race reminds me of a vigilante type dragon. Another plus is that this book is written well and you can read it in one sitting. Overall I didn't like this book. But I do still have hope for the series. I'm rating this book 2 stars. I do think that if this is your first book by this author you're reading experience would be vastly different. Just because you wouldn't get those same old/repetitive feelings.
Y'all what a wonderful surprise this was! Popped up on my Kindle suggestions and I am so glad!
World build: Is very unique and still a mystery. You may wonder how the world build could be mysterious but you are getting no spoilers from this opinionated person 😉 You're going to have to grab in and find out.
Storyline: Shockingly also unique. Nothing in this reminded me of a previous read which is always hugely refreshing.
FMC: Lillian, here is the drop in rating for me. I found her to be a bit slow on picking up clues to be a journalist. Even though Nate is hot she also made her self a bit too available, if you know what I mean, especially since she considered him a serial killer for a large portion of the read.
Nathan: SUPER mysterious. Even my the end I still found him as such. I love how he comes around to the changes he is experiencing and his drive to follow his instinct. Very sexy.
For whatever reason this story had me thinking of an analogy to the fairy tale "The Swan Maiden"
More on the dark side of things, this story premises a "Beauty & The Beast" main character male who has baggage issues and history that hinder his life.
Overall a been there, done that, sort of story line I appreciated if for no other reason than I'm a sucker for any sort of dragon shapeshifter erotic romance
I was wondering where the next series would take us and I am not disappointed. A whole new dragonish series is upon us. Nathan doesn't no what he is, where he comes from, or why he does what he does. The only thing he knows is that he's alone and must stay secret from everyone. Lillian is a journalist and knows how to get a scoop. She knows theirs more to meet the eye with the rich and handsome Nathan. When she finally manages to sneak into his building for pester him for an interview she gets more than she bargained for. I absolutely loved this book. I can't wait for the next book in the series.
The First Novel in the New Exiting Dragon Shifter Series
I really liked this novel, being all the more enjoyable for the length of it. Nathan is very mysterious and fascinating and a real hero too despite seeing himself as a disgusting monster. My heart went out for him and his siblings' hard childhood and cold abandonment. I really cannot understand how this could have happened and by who. Did the Oracle create them in a laboratory and then just forgot all about them? How could she?! Oh well, I hope to find out more about the brothers and their origins in the next books.
So for the second time this week I read a book solely to get rid of the rancid taste left behind by the atrocity that was my last read. Just thinking about that books pisses me off all over again, Ugh! It was Zoe Chant's Mated to the Storm Dragon in case you were wondering.
Right so, Midnight. So I'm actually pretty familiar with Terry's Dragons, I've met a number of them through the different series and I remember I stopped reading them cause they basically felt like the same thing over and over with just different characters and I got bored.
So if it wasn't for Jenny, I'd have never given this a shot. Surprisingly, I liked it. It was longer than her other books, which used to be another one of my issues. And it wasn't cookie cutter. Yay!
I mean yeah looking back I don't really see much chemistry and the plot could definitely use some more work and I have absolutely no idea what made Midnight so "absolutely terrifying" after, well, midnight :P but the difference in length and lack of cookie cutting is a huge deal.
It's definitely making me consider reading the next book, so totally a big thumbs up! :D
I’m intrigued with the beginning, slightly bored at 20%, disinterested around 40%, skimmed over till maybe 70%, and content with the rest.. skimming part of the story is being nice. I basically skipped about 5 chapters.
I randomly chose a chapter to start back reading on. It was the perfect spot bc she was just finding out what he was.
Nathan was just boring. Not sure what Lillian saw in him. Lillian was one min a strong journalist; the next she was boring too. Guess Nathan was rubbing off on her.
The whole story was about Lillian needing to write a piece on mysterious Nathan Lancaster. Now she has someone threatening her and Nathan offers- “demands”-his place until they figure it out. Hmmm; how does she know it isn’t him? She doesn’t but she feels safe..... The story continues on the same path; Nathan always knowing when something bad will happen. Lillian knows something isn’t right but guess what? She feels a connection to Nathan......
Overall the story had good points but there was no juice to it. It was a flatline story that was very monotone. With that said, the book ended with a scene of his brother Dare. And then you get a clips of book 2. It’s about Dare and Lillian BFF, Sasha. Book 2 looks pretty good. Mainly bc I can tell Dare has a smart a@@ about him.
Noooooooooooo! Anything but the 'intrepid reporter' trope! And for the first book in a series, so you can't skip it. I will take any other trope out there before this one. In real life if someone questioned you as much as this girl questions anyone, you would seriously be thinking of shanking a bitch.
I enjoyed this book quite a bit. The characters are well developed and the story mostly light and interesting. If I could wish for one thing, it would be a little less angst in Nathan. Otherwise the story skimmed along with just enough evil and suspense to offset the heated romance. Good job.
Boring. Superficial. Interesting plot at the beginning, but it I still didn’t care about any of the characters. It was all so boring i had to force myself to finish this none sense. The supernatural aspect is neglected. The romance is aspect is boring. The plot half cooked and half finished in the end. So NO.
Midnight is a fairytale wrapped up in a paranormal romance. A very hot fairytale. If you're like me and shivering through winter, this might just be the romance you need. More
This is a little different than the regular dragons. This is much longer than most books by this author. I like the kind of cross between vampire and dragon. Sexual content, so for readers 17+.
I don’t normally write these but felt the need to this time.
I picked up Midnight a month ago having never read any of Terry’s books before. I was in the mood for a darker novel with a conflicted hero and of my choices of spontaneously purchased books, the write-up called to me.
I thoroughly enjoyed going on this ride with Nathan and Lillian. Some reviewers are disappointed in the story telling because Terry is keeping so much in mystery to be further unfolded in the next two novels. For me, it was beautifully presented and part of the major draw of the story, giving the reader more immersion and helped with the suspension of disbelief.
I decided before reading Dare and Sasha’s story I should go back the beginning and read double dragons and the full awakened series (gemstone, rent-a-dragon, date-a-dragon, sea dragons, and finally the dragon guard) after reading this book. I don’t know if I would have pushed through them all or even made it to this book if I hadn’t started here but it turned out to be an awesome journey watching Terry’s writing starting a little rough around the edges and very rushed in double dragons and really start to show some polish around Ruby Dragon. By the time I was done with the dragon guard I could see the writing style of this book starting to emerge.
And guess what? Less than a month later, I found myself back here and enjoying Midnight just as much as the first time around (since I wanted the world fresh in my mind again after that obsessive binge read).
The meeting between Nathan and Lillian was more believable than the previous dragon books, the romance had time to develop and really evolve for not just the heroine but for the hero as well, and while ‘mate’ was tossed around a few times (more than I remembered actually), it wasn’t the sole focus. It gave Nathan the chance to love Lillian instead of almost blindly following fate. Even the formulated “heroine runs from hero” at the end felt natural instead of some huffy nonsense that makes you want to wring the heroine’s neck for being TSTL.
Now don’t get me wrong, I’m a sucker for the fate/insta-love too, but this book was a diamond in the rough and a total joy to read. I hope we get to see more of this from Terry, where it is obvious she really had a connection with her characters. I would love to see even longer novels emerge and maybe a little better editing.
Book 1 in a new series . It's time for the dragons to find his mate.Nathan and Lillian find that love has its ups and down. But mating with a dragon is everything
I loved this new Nightmare Dragon series for several reasons. First of all the length of the story was fantastic! I have always wanted longer stories from this author. She is very talented. Nathan and Lillian are strong characters that held their own for the entire duration. This story was darker, but the author tied everything together where it made the hero have a heart and purpose. She worked the heroin to compliment him in every way. Lillian was a very strong woman who meshed well with his creature. I love the fact that Nathan has two brothers and that they were both featured in Nathan's story to give us a glimpse of what's to come.
In addition, there was the bonus of having a wee glimpse of previous characters that have touched my heart before which was Chromium and Helen. In that regard, I would have wanted more of those characters in this story and in the upcoming stories because even though Chromium is mentioned we don't get to visit with him and I would love that.
We witness a little bit of the internal struggle that Dare faces and some of me hopes that his "almost snack" would end up being his match in the long run.
I hope this author keeps the length of the next two stories as long as Nathan and Lillian's story was... for it makes for great reading. I definitely will be purchasing the next two. I hope this author takes to heart what I have expressed. I own all of this author storied and I have truly enjoyed them and I have reviewed them sincerely.
Lillian was certain she had the exclusive of a lifetime. Nathan Lancaster had to be a criminal. He had to be behind the devastating disasters he always seems to be just on the edge of. He might be a billionaire, but she was determined to get the story, the true story. She just didn’t know that she’d fall in love with the man who always disappears at midnight.
I don’t even know how to describe Midnight. And that is the honest truth. This story is twice the length of Ms Bolryder’s usual shifter romances. And to say that there is an incredible story packed into that word count would be an understatement. On this one, I find I do not want to say much of anything at all, except what an amazing story, and a captivating couple Nathan and Lillian make. There are secrets, some that we probably will slowly throughout the series learn the depth of, for now we have the beginning and I find that is enough.
Come along for the journey of a journalist who desires the truth, and a being of the night who cannot allow his truth to be known.
I highly recommend Midnight, and I’m now on tender-hooks waiting for the next story.
I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.
I'm loving this new longer book length and the new series. Through all the last few dragon series we've heard about more dragons out there. How great that while these guys are weaved into this world, the stories stand alone.
Nathan and his brothers are waiting for someone to judge them, but who? What is "she" going to give them if they have succeeded and do to them if they haven't. These dragons are powerful, monied but they have a secret the other dragons did not.
Lillian is a reporter and wants to find out about the secretive, philanthropist, Nathan Lancaster. The tall, sexy man that she has no personal interest in at all. None. He, on the other hand, has decided it's time he found out about these humans on another level. She is very hesitant but he makes her one of those can't refuse offers.
There is a lot going on and no spoilers here. Just know the relationship has more time to develop. The sinister part is multilayered and well--darn, it is just plain good reading. These are great characters. I loved this one and am anxious for more.
Don't let the nightmare part and darkness mentioned scare you away
I didn't get these books for awhile because the description mentioned that they were darker. They are, but not in a bad way. I cannot read horror at all and was afraid this would be like that, but it wasn't. The pace is fast, the tone is more conflicted but hopeful, the storyline is character oriented with some action and steamy scenes, and the characters are vivid. I loved this book, like I usually love books by Terry Bolryder.
This is a stand alone, but there are other series that take place previously, if you are interested: Double Dragons and Tiger Protectors come first but are a little different and not necessary, Awakened Dragons, Rent-a-Dragon, Date-a-Dragon, Awakened Sea Dragons and Dragon Guards of Drakkaris all happen before this story does. The Chromium mentioned is in the previous series the Dragon Guards. You don't have to read all the others, but you may want to if you like this one. Enjoy!
This is the first book I've read by Terry Bolryder, and it was a very interesting book to start with. To start, you have 3 brothers who have been "created" by someone or something. For Nathan, Dare and Theo, they seem to have a bunch of unanswered questions. But the brothers don't stay together. This is Nathan's story.
The thing I liked most about this story is Nathan, even though he's over 100, has limited knowledge about himself. But in the same respect, he tries to be as good as a Nightmare creature can be. And Lillian is the perfect match for him. Always trying to see behind his masks.
A friend of mine told me the 2nd and 3rd books were better and faster reads. But with the Nightmare Dragons, there is so much unknown and so many questions, I truly believe the pace of Midnight is exactly what it needs to be to give this series it's foundation. I'm looking forward to reading the next in this series.
WOW! I’ve read all of Terry Bolryder’s dragon series and this is totally different than her other dragons. Fitting its title, this story is a little darker and seems a little more sinister than her previous books, but it was such a good read! It is also longer than her previous books, although I didn’t really notice it. The story flows seamlessly and the strong, deep characters carry the story effortlessly. The story is filled with mysteries some too big to be answered now and I can’t wait to see where the unanswered questions lead. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone that enjoys a love story that isn’t always easy, complex characters, the idea of redemption, light and darkness, and paranormal things that go bump in the night. I received an Advanced Readers copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Evil doesn't always look like monsters on the outside
This book not as light hearted as some of this authors other dragon books but I loved it just the same. I also read in some reviews that didn't like that they didn't get the answers they wanted. But since this is the first book in the series, there is two more books to learn from.
Liliana was a hard person to like in the first part of the story. She was a reporter that seemed like she would do anything to get the scoop. Even when Nathan gave her an answer she argued with him that he wasn't telling her the truth. After a while she starts to grow a little bit and leave her prejudices behind. Nathan was created as a monster but he had more humanity than some actual humans. He and his brother were let down continuously by their creators. But Nathan held on to his hope of being loved and accepted.
First book in the Nightmare Dragon's series. Lillian is a reporter after an interview with Nathan Lancaster. She sneaks into his office and he agrees she can spend time with him and try to get a scoop, working as his assistant for a week. She ends up staying with him at his mansion because of threats against her. He saves her roommate from being raped but everything is strange, how did he know it was happening and where? She catches him feeding off the darkness of an almost bomber at the hospital and freaks out. She runs from him when she awakens at the mansion thinking he's crazy. A monster breaks into her apartment and takes Lillian and Sasha to the roof to kill them but he can't because there's no darkness. Nathan shows up as his Dragon to confront his brother Dare. Everything works out between Nathan and Lillian.
Good book overall, all the hallmark points of the romance genre! I like the heroine except for her pre-judging of people and stereotyping. They are a good fit and I like how the romance is unfurled. A few parts of the story could have been addressed better such as crazy Bill (I've drawn my own conclusions based on something Nathan said later in the book) ayd well as Lil's issue for which caused her to nove in with Nate (its later addressed but more as a wrap up and a bit of a set-up to their romantic obstacle!). I hope more is explored and expressed in the next book. It was good to "hear" from a character in the Drakaris dragon series even if it wasnt the dragon, they were mentioned! I would recommend this book to anyone 18+ years old and who like fiesty characters and love scenes.
This is a good start to a new shifter series, and a good romance. Nathan is an interesting shifter, in that he was created, and considers himself a monster. He has quite a complex about that, but has no choice but to be what he was created to be -- even if he is a "Nightmare Dragon". I actually liked that he used his power to help rid the earth of evil, and didn't stop even when he realized his creator was never coming back for him.
I didn't like Lillian quite as much. She was kind of annoying with all her questions, and refusal to trust. It especially irritated me that she thought it was fine to pry into Nathan's secrets, but she didn't want to share her own. She did get better as the book went on, but I still would have liked for Nathan to fall for someone a little less annoying.
This series is a little different from Terry's other shifter series, in that there is more angst. Nathan and his brothers are tortured by what they are, since they think they are monsters. Nathan just wants to be human, so he can have friends and a family. Most shifter stories have shifters that are happy with their animals, so this series is unusual.
My rating system is below. 1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it. 2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws. 3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating. 4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one. 5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.
OMG!!!! What a phenomenal new series!! Terry Bolryder has done it again. Her books are usually suspenseful, action packed and filled with great characters that have to learn to work and love each other in order to find their happily ever after. This new series is similar but somewhat darker and more intense, and the added length only makes the story better.
Midnight, book 1 of Terry’s new Nightmare Dragons series, is a great beginning to a new series. Nathan Lancaster, the hero, was briefly introduced to readers in book 6 of the Dragon Guard of Drakkaris series. His introduction and involvement in the story left me with many questions and I was hoping that he would get his own book.
Nathan is a billionaire, philanthropist who has secrets that force him to hide in plain sight. These secrets also prevent him from connecting with others. Lillian Goss, the heroine of the book, is a journalist who is hell bent on discovering the real Nathan and his possible criminal exploits. However, the more she gets to know him, the more drawn she is to him. Lillian is a great match for Nathan and I love how she pushes him to let loose and open himself up to questions and feelings. I loved reading Midnight, it’s a suspenseful and exciting love story with secrets to uncover and challenges to overcome. It’s a great first for the series, it hints at a history yet to be uncovered and characters to be developed.
Between 2-3 stars. It was more than "just OK", but not quite enough to round up. Surprisingly low for a Bolryder book for me, but I just couldn't rate it higher. I liked the world, I liked Nathan (H), I liked the potential for more with him and his brothers and their backstory... I hated Lillian (h). Like fiery passion of a thousand burning suns, type hate. It was entirely because of her that it took me a week and a half to read this (usually I can burn through a short SPN romance like this in a day or two).
Overall, I like Terry Bolryder. She's a SPN/PN romance author that I can reliably turn to - like Zoe Chant and T.S. Joyce and even Candace Ayers (who, I'll admit is a little more hit-or-miss). Usually longer novella to shorter novel length stories, enough magic and fantasy to have some fun, and characters I enjoy spending time with. And that last part is where this one fell short.
Lillian. Oh, Lillian. I truly hated every time she opened her mouth for almost the entire first half of the book. She's a journalist convinced that something is going on with Nathan, a billionaire philanthropist whom she's noticed has appeared in several photos of crowds at disasters and crime scenes. The thought that he could be an innocent bystander never enters her mind, that he could be just curious, that he could be a Good Samaritan - in short any other explanation. No, she's sure there's something more there, and she plows into his life determined to find out what it is. But what does she expect?? If there's something he's trying to cover up, he'll say there's no story. If there's nothing there he wants to talk about, he'll say there's no story. If there's literally nothing there to write about, he'll say there's no story. So what does she do when he says there's no story? Basically calls him a liar and threatens to stalk him to find answers - in about as many words! She never approaches the story with an open mind, never considers other explanations, is convinced that her view is the right one and is just looking for evidence to support it, and in a very bull-in-a-china-shop sort of manner. What every professional reporter does, right? No wonder they only have her writing puff pieces!!
As we learn more about her, we learn that she has biases against men, against the rich, and against the powerful. Also against liars. Which she assumes all men, all rich, and all powerful people are. Very unbiased reporting, right? And a completely healthy way to live your life, too. But the whole reason behind her attitude is shaky. Yes, her father cheated, and her parents had a messy divorce, and her mother is now bitter and single. But she refers to the affair as "a few years back" so she was old enough to be aware of what was going on, but not so old that she was out of the house. But she's in her mid-twenties at least - she refers to student loans, after all. So it's been more than just "a few years." Yet, she's still so bitter? Has she never had any other male figure in her life, let alone a positive one? She actually says, at almost halfway through the book, "She’d just never imagined a man would stand up for women like that." REALLY??? NO man would EVER stand up for a woman? It's actually out of her realm of possibilities???? Yet she wants to - and even claims to be - unbiased and impersonal. Completely insufferable character.
Some comments on Lillian that made me laugh:
* "Look, I’m just used to people who have power trying to abuse it. It’s nothing personal" (21%). Except she does make it personal. Incredibly personal. She automatically assumes that anyone with power must abuse it, based on her own personal experience. Then gets way up in the faces of those she is investigating/interviewing/involved with, making it very personal for them too. * "It almost made her realize how deeply untrusting of the world, and men, she was" (41%). Almost. Almost, but not quite. That actually doesn't happen. Ever. She eventually changes her view of Nathan, but not of men or of people with wealth or power in general. * Nathan notices that she has no darkness in her, and that even with her past, she "wasn't affected by what he’d [her father] done" (67%). Really? Not affected at all? This level of distrust of the entire male gender is normal? * She refers to the "optimism" in her attitude (76%). Optimism? Really? Not trusting half of the human population, simply because of their genetics, then even more of the population on top of that because of their position and wealth... that's optimism??
After all that, you might be wondering why this even got 2 stars. Well, aside from Lillian, I enjoyed the book. Nathan is a little more broody than I like, but there's reason for it. He has literally two other beings in this world that he can connect with honestly, and he can't even be around them much, for all their safety. It's not like vampires, which usually have a council or coven or some such in these stories. Nor like shifters, which tend to have packs or clans. He's truly alone, surrounded by beings that he's nothing like and whom he both protects and preys upon. It's understandable that he's a bit on the brooding side.
The plot moves a bit slower, because there's a good amount of world building in this one. Nathan and his brothers aren't dragons, aren't shifters, aren't aliens. They're something else altogether, and a lot of the book is spent creating what that is, and hints of where they come from (and only hints, which was a touch frustrating at times). So, not a fast-paced shifter story in this one. Neither here nor there, just what it is. I'm interested to see where she goes from here with this world.
Alternating 3rd person POV. No OW/OM drama, no love triangles, no cheating. Lots of baggage on the H's part, and a complete idiot for an h. Slower plot and broodier H than I prefer couldn't balance out h's irritating-ness, so that's why the lower rating. Still, it's a unique take on dragons and on shifters and I'm interested in where she'll go with these characters. HEA, but other characters introduced for subsequent books. No epilogue, but no cliffhanger either.
Will I read more in the series? Like I said, I like the author. And in future books, Lillian won't be the lead, so that should dramatically improve things!
I was pretty underwhelmed by the first book in this new series. I've read all of Ms Bolryder's previous dragon installments, but this one fell very flat for me. There's very little plot development and very little character development because the author is trying to keep the secret of what the main male characters are, or how they were created or whatever, for later in the series. This is really a mistake, I feel, because I didn't connect with these characters or their story at all and I don't feel excited to read the next book in the series. In fact depending on what I have on my reading list or what I'm doing when the next book is released, I probably won't read it at all, because there wasn't enough draw to this book to bring me back for more. If the author had given more backstory, I think she would have done this book a bigger favor and the series as well. You can give your readers the whole backstory and they'll still keep coming back to find out what the resolution is. But if you give the readers nothing, what's the point of coming back for more of nothing? It amuses me that one of the points of the newsletter to announce the release of this book was that the book is double the length of her usual offerings and yet there was way less content for all those extra pages. I'm going to have to say give this book a pass.
The first book in this new series was very interesting. Nathan is a rich philanthropist who seems to have it all. So why does Lillian keep finding his picture at the scene of fires and disasters? What is he hiding? She is determined to get the real story about him and his extra-curricular activities.
Nathan has been keeping apart from humans all his long life. He was told to avoid close contact with them and with other shifters if he didn't want to be hunted and killed. Every night he turns into what he calls a "nightmare dragon" and uses his ability to see the future to find and save humans from all kinds of things that would hurt or kill them. When he runs smack into a curvy reporter who has been trying to get an interview from him, he decides to see what she is after and invites her for dinner. Little does he know where that will lead.
This series is a little darker than some of the others Terry has written. Nathan "feeds" on evil humans when he finds them. I will let you find out what that means, not quite as bad as it sounds. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.
Nathan is a philanthropist and a billionaire, but he also has secrets aplenty! Lillian is a journalist and she is hoping to uncover all of Nathan’s secrets. She is determined and manages to get into the building where Nathan works, as she wants to get a interview with him. When he invites her to his home later that night, she is shocked and intrigued enough to go! But things don’t go how she thinks and later on she ends up finding herself much like a fly in a spider’s web, entangled in danger she never knew existed and finding a love that will last the ages:)
Fantastic new series by Terry, I absolutely devoured it in one sitting! I’m looking forward to Dare’s story and hoping Sasha can be the woman to pull his blinders off:) Thank you for the advance copy Terry and I willingly leave my honest review for Midnight - the best nightmare dragon EVA!
