As soon as I began reading Wine Club Wednesdays, the fourth book in Jan Romes’ Wine and Sweat Pants series, it was like getting together with old friends and catching up. Well, almost! Grace, Tawny, Steph and Elaina weren’t the least bit interested in what I am doing, but because they’re working hard at being delightful and engaging characters, I’ll cut them some slack. :)
These four women, all single at the same time in their lives, meet at a cash-for-gold event in book one, No Sweat Pants Allowed – Wine Club. They form a really special bond, and the ups, downs, and humor that keeps them bonded is what Jan Romes writes so well. As a reader, you may find yourself wanting to jump into a conversation and trade quips with these sassy women.
In Wine Club Wednesdays, the women are now living in Maine, running the Four Sassy Chicks Bed & Breakfast. As they wonder how to best market their business, each of them is faced with the inevitable changes that the evolution of life brings us all. As close as they are, they are individuals first, facing romantic interests and disinterests, old wounds to heal, career choices — and all kinds of decisions about what lies ahead. I don’t want to give anything away, so I’ll just say that like the other books in this series, this one has a whole lot of heart. And if you appreciate the power of friendship, this book (this series) is a great read.
Wine Club Wednesdays by Jan Romes delivers exactly what readers want and appreciate in a book. A story of believable and identifiable characters challenged in recognizable ways who remain unwaveringly committed to their principles, commitments, and their relationships. If you have not read any books by this talented author, you will want to familiarize yourself with her work. If you have, you understand why I highly recommend anything Ms Romes has written.
I was so happy when the author wrote another book in this series, I missed this sassy bunch of girls. I followed them from when they first met in Ohio, now they own a bed&breakfast in Maine. I love Maine, so this was more of a pleasure to read. The girls are in a funk because so much has happened and qiuckly in their lives with picking up and moving. The bed&breakfast isn't busy and they need to come up with a way to get customers to the Inn. They all are questioning things in their lives, wether it be love life, children or just personal. Usually they get through life with each other by their side, at least one or the other understands what's going on in her friends life. Tawny is having serious issues in this book, can the girls help her though it. They get a new customer that Elaina might be I rested in, another furball joins the group. Will Stony their dog be okay with this, and lulu the cat!!! This book had me thinking about times in my life I could have used friends like these. I would love for my 21 year old girl to read this series, she's learn some things... I'm left wondering what's going to happen to my girls, " my girls" is the way I think of them. I think any lady would love these girls and what the represent to each other. Download yours and check these ladies and their furball so out, you won't be sorry.
I read the entire series to see what was going to happen next. The ladies are friends, heroines, lovers and partners in everything. How they manage life's situations is funny and serious. They love animals, wine and tattoos. What more can you ask for..... except when is the next book?
